Wacky Wheels!!! :)
Oh, and Micro Machines 2!

Okay, probably not the racing games you were looking for. But they're still fun. ;)

EDIT: Btw, does anyone know why we only have one Driver game, and not exactly the best one, as it seems?

HMPF....
I hope that after Carmageddon, we get more racing games on GOG. Rollcage, Ignition, Fatal Racing, ahh, remembering them fondly...

GraveStuff: Hello.

I am among the few who is really passionate about racing games.
Sadly gog's sortiment is rather thin :/
As documented by this thread, you are not part of the 'few' you describe. Sounds like crying wolf to me.

Also, if you limit your racing selections to just GOG, then you are to be sorely disappointed. At least for the short-to-medium term.

Ah, nearly forgot, San Francisco Rush 2049. Stole quite a few years from my life. On the Dreamcast. Was never really a fan of the most other Rush games, though.....
Grand Prix Legends

Best. Racing. SIMULATION. Ever.

And be sure to grab the GPL Installer to make it run all smooth and pretty!

Yes, but also the most hardcore, don't play this if you want to be the first across the finish line all the time. =D
By the way there is a newer installer.

Would love to see Re-Volt on GOG as well. Game actually still has an active online community so I'm sure you can still find match ups for it.

Yes! Loved that game. Very fun Super Mario Kart clone.

In any case, I don't care for realistic racers in the least. I find them quite boring. I'm definitely looking forward to Carmageddon, since I've never played it.

But what fun is there in that? It stops being a "racing" game at that point.

Nobody should be scared off from GPL because they think it too tough for their abilities. Simply increase the Global_Hype_Scaling in the drivers.ini file for all drivers and presto the opposition AI cars can go any speed you want. Slow them down to where you can outdrive them using your feet if for some strange reason you want to. Or make them go much faster than the game defaults to where nobody could ever beat even one of them unless they blow an engine. Or anything in between.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I played GPL a lot, still do, but what you say is also the problem of the game imo. You need to spend so much time with the game to know how and what to tweak, most people won't have the patience for that. But I agree, this game provides one of the best driving experiences you can have on a computer even for me who is totally not interested in formula one, current or historical.
Wacky Wheels was the shizz back in the day ^^

There's degrees to it. I liked Motoracer 1 and 2, but Motoracer 3 went way too arcadey for my taste, the slide got rather ridiculous for much of the game.

Wacky Wheels was brilliant, I ended up buying a copy from 3D Realms a while back and it's still just as fun as ever. I just love the hedgehog that sits on the toilet.
