I read about the racing games GOG used to have and they all got pulled due to licensing issues.

And games with "Porsche" in the name are just asking for licensing hell to happen so I highly doubt that something like that will be appearing on GOG.

some newer racing games on here would be nice.

judging from the list of racing games here and your linking of Need for Speed I take it you like realistic racing games like Gran Turismo, Forza, and of course Need for Speed

Of course, you have to understand, they need the license(s) to package and distribute these games.

Being that the NFS series is published by EA, and they are still adding new games to the already gigantic series and 'making money' from them.....I don't think I'd be holding my breath at this point for any of them to be available on GOG. But that's me.

Fatal Racing would be nice. I loved that game back in the days.

Totally agree with you, however CMR 2005 got dropped from what I heard because of some car brand or WRC license issues.
It's just one of those many hurdles for GOG to convince the corporate world which is highly protective about their franchises (or car brands in this case) and this falls into the category EA System Shock, LucasArts, Microsoft games only this is done by carmanufacturers and racingorganisations (FIA, WRC, etc.). What also doesn't help is the fact that those organisations and some manufacturers only want to sell exclusive rights these days.

So unless the weather clears, we got to make do with racinggames that don't include real cars or realworld races. :o(
Some of those are pretty good actually, Flatout for instance. :o)

Death Rally is freeware. Plenty of fun for those boring lectures.

I have never been able to get into driving games, I find them to samey - there is very little variations between them - and have the feeling that when you have played one you have played them all. I know this is not right, but it is the feeling I am left with and I get bored fast.

Then again I never really was bothered about cars anyway, I still can not drive...
