I know that there are some Freeware games (i.e. Dark Reign 1 and it's expansion, Rise of the Shadowhand), so will these entries into the list be ignored or removed?
there have been millions of posts in regards to this, it's not going to happen because there is no money in hosting free games unless they have some sort of contract with the publisher to sell other games by that publisher..
Please make use of the search function, it's right next to new post.
Apologies. If any mods could be so kind as to delete/close this thread, I would appreciate it.

Not a big deal, Amirite. People have expressed interest.. even some (including myself) who would be willing to pay a couple of bucks for some of these now 'free' games just to have them easily downloadable here, as well as the possibility of extras.
wait...
Dark Reign is freeware? why nobody told me?
Where can I download it?
that's a lot of questions.

Yeah, i agree with you dude... but id guess the legal hastle and issues of re-selling freeware will probably out weigh the fact that people would pay money for it. Never know though....

You can get it here.
It's been freeware for a while. I wanted to purchase it and looked it up on Wikipedia which mentioned it being freeware.
I think the freeware version also supports multiplayer, but I haven't been able to test it out as of yet.
Freespace 2 was freeware, and the disc images were distributed by Volution for quite a while. I think Interplay may have stepped in, though.
