AFnord: And we just got a nice comparison added to a local store's site. PS4 console: 7000sek (release: 2013).
Are there some recent and remarkable PS4 news I've missed? I googled for it, and still no idea about PS4, other than a rumor that Sony has been shipping some PS4 development kits to some developers so that there will be some games for PS4 launch, whenever that will be, in n years.

Elmofongo: It can't because GTA 5 was made for consoles first. As always PC games always have superior graphics, even though its expensive as fuck.

AFnord: If you demand the very best out of your PC, then yes, it will be expensive, but as long as you settle with "good", then it really won't be, not in comparison to a new console.

And we just got a nice comparison added to a local store's site. PS4 console: 7000sek (release: 2013). For 5000-6000sek you'll get a PC a PC that will last you through a console generation, and still feel powerful enough at the end of it.

And it would at least be fair to compare GTA5 to the console version of Battlefield 3, would it not? Or the latest Uncharted? And the animation quality in the GTA 5 video is just embarrassing.
Yeah like that scene when the crazy guy said to the old guy (my avatar) "Your therapist has a alot to answer for."

Why is the old guy shaking is arms back and forth so fast?

Roman5: Hey guys, remember how Every Elder scrolls game released at one point in time always used cutting edge technology and was the pinnacle of graphical capabilities in gaming?

Yeah?

I do

we went from "Graphics get better in time" to "Graphics get better only when new consoles release"
Hey I used to think like that, but than I look at Arma 3, Battlefield 3, Far Cry 3, and Crysis 3 and I thought, "Are you sure Unreal Engine 4 is next gen graphics when these games already look next gen?"

I don't know actually. I was just checking prices to have something to compare the price of a new PC to, and as Webhallen usually are a bit cheaper than average, i thought it would be a good store to check. And there I found this: http://www.webhallen.com/se-sv/spel/playstation_3/135975-playstation_4_basenhet

Yea, that bit bugged me a lot. It did not look like he was nervous or anything like that, it just looked like poor animation. Also, the facial animations just don't look good in general. Don't Rockstar have access to the technology that was used to make the facial animations in LA Noire?

Mabye they did not have the budget to use L.A.Noire Facial Animation tech for GTA5
I wish Rockstar get to see what Bethesda has done to the Elder Scroll series. Every time Bethesda release a game they up the bar for beautiful graphics and physics. the world of Elder Scroll is become an epic, not just the adventure and story but the game world as well.

I remember when Morrowind came out, one publication went as far as to say that "Quite simply, morrowind is the GTA of the RPG genre" this was back when GTA was one of the few open sandbox games and 3 and Vice city were larger than life

I wonder what is the biggest game world in sheer size right now?

As far as I'm aware: ESII: Daggerfall still holds the crown

I find it an achievement that PS2 and Xbox can handle the size of San Andreas without issues.

Oh and I wonder why is it that the land of Hammerfell and Highrock together is somehow bigger than Cyrodiil in game?

Look at the map of Tamriel Cyrodiil is bigger

It's the scale of the gameworld that makes all the difference here

lol like I said its weird that daggerfall is what 70 miles while oblivion is 12 was it?

But the Map shows Cyrodiil is bigger lol.

Uhm, Oblivion and Skyrim are from the same console generation, right? You really think that there's been no massive progress in terms of visuals between these two games?
avatar

The size of the whole gameworld doesn't matter if you only see a tiny (and incredibly ugly) part of that gameworld at a time. And the general rule for the GTA series is that the whole world is dead except for some stuff happening in your vicinity.
avatar
FantasyNightmare: I think it's because the GTA games are open world, with quite a bit of stuff going on at any one time.
That's the funny part. In the GTA games there's almost nothing going on except for a few characters and cars in your direct vicinity. The truth is that in terms of technology Rockstar has pretty much always sucked epic balls.

Edit: WTF? Triple post? How did that happen? Stupid forum with stupid broken merging...

Merging happens only if the interval is less than 10 minutes.
