The advancements in computing technology and graphics continue to amaze me. Just unbelievable.
No it is not that good for 10 years. I am disappointed very much.
Vice City looked ugly 10 years ago. Some of the big names games back then looked great
Well, graphics may look much prettier, but I doubt that this new GTA will be as fresh and fun as Vice City was.

Makes me wonder why the ps2 GTA games had ugly graphics models while other PS2 games like ICO/Shadow of the Colossus, Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil Outbreak and Final Fantasy look stunnig.
It's not all that impressive, even in spite of the fact that Vice City was always ugly as hell. But then we're only really talking about two games designed for consoles that are merely a generation apart. It is pretty impressive how hard they're able to push that seriously antiquated hardware, I grant you that.

Sony consoles are notoriously difficult to work with. That probably has a lot to do with it. Rockstar probably didn't know their PS fu back then.

I'm seriously not impressed by those graphics. GTA V looks dated, like something from the middle or late early stages of this console generation.

Are you blind?!

Saints Row the Third looks like a 360 launch title.
I guess I'm commenting more on the relative change between Vice City and GTA V.

I'm not sure what the "best" graphics are these days.

I was not comparing it to Saints Row the Third though, so that is really besides the point.

But look at those shadows, they don't look quite natural, the character animations look stiff (look at the scene at around 1:30). Faces are not animated well either. Textures also look a bit muddy by today's standards.

Thus Rockstar strikes again with their trailers and screenshots

But anyways what did we expect after being exposed to even more better looking games like Far Cry 3, Crysis 3, Battlefield 3, and Arma 3.

I was expecting it to keep even footing with Far Cry 3, Crysis 3, Battlefield 3 or ARMA 3.

It can't because GTA 5 was made for consoles first. As always PC games always have superior graphics, even though its expensive as fuck.

Not really if you know what parts to purchase.

As for the graphics, I don't really care but what made GTA IV unplayable for me was the ridiculous performance and not to mention steam, GFWL, SecuROM DRM and Social Club. Ugh..

I had some fun with Vice City though.

I'm more amazed by 1992 - 2002...
