Port Royale 3

I admit I spend likely hundreds of hours in Port Royale 2 (first i found a bit slow) and only today have i discovered there is a Port Royale 3 to be released on (IIRC) 4th May.

I had a look at some screen shots and it looks very similar to the others but with nicer graphics, If that is the case ill be disappointed, ill wait till after its release and look again I guess.

In the mean time I thought I would post this in-case others who enjoyed the games didn't know.

Without Reavers post, I wouldn't know about this game. The last one is now 8 years old and there hasn't been a thread here about the new game (afaik). I also usually only check the GG and Steam front pages, so that game eluded me. I actually enjoyed the second, so I'm keeping an eye on it now.

Might be interesting. Liked Portal Royale 2, kind of up there with Patrician 3.

Just hope it doesn't become a Patrician 4 but somewhat better (and cheaper...)

Didn't know that there was a third Port Royal game either. Thanks OP. Just hope that it will be available from somewhere else than Gamersgate as well.

I suppose it's similar to how many people didn't know a Patrician IV existed

Being an enthusiast of the genre, I did know this game existed (in fact, I made a post about it in a "one-man" thread when it was first announced), but I didn't know this many people are interested in it.
Anyway, here's an article in which there are some interesting details regarding the game.

Apparently, it is out now. Has anyone already bought it (and can thus provide some info about the game) or there are no first-day buyers among us?
I loved the first two games in the series, but I have mixed feelings regarding Kalypso's publishing Port Royale 3, based on their earlier games (some of which were quite dumbed down, but others very nice).
Also, €45 is, in my opinion, quite a bit of money to ask for it, but IF it is good, and we could team up, maybe we could team up and buy a 4-pack? (That way, it'd come down to ~€33.5).
