I've been trying to download the 2GB file from ut2k4 with the GOG downloader for the upteenth time now, and it keeps resetting itself. Ive also tried downloading the file directly with my browser, but I cant leave it downloading on one pass, and it won't resume when downloaded that way. So, until GOG comes up with a downloader that actually works, Im not buying anything more from GOG since I wont be able to play it.
Have you contacted GOG support on this? Also, AFAIK, the resetting connection is not the fault of the downloader, but rather the fault of your ISP.

it's the truth, those harmful isp woes.

Free Download Manager, Internet Download Manager... I'd like the whiny users to stop beeing dumb and check out previous topic talking about the same issues :D Oh man I'd love that.
I had the same problem. Take your computer off the router and do a direct connect. The router "refreshes" your connection.
i wish whiney users would stop jumping into conclusions. I tried 3rd party downloaders, Gog people said they won't work since GOG uses special authentication on the download servers which reset the connection. The only way to download and resume a game is with the official AIR downloader. And no, it's not my ISP. My ISP is crappy, i know, probably the crappiest ISP, but they don't exclusively reset GOG downloads. I have downloaded gigs' worth of games from Steam and Impulse without a hitch, and with resume option. Last time I contacted GOG they told me to just pause and resume the download at times. That's not a good option, having to supervise the download the whole 2 GB of it.

It's what I had to do for some games. :O
I think this problem has been tackled within this topic. I feel sorry for you dude, but GOG hasn't even been around for a year yet. Imagine what Steam was like within its first year back in 2002 - probably crap.
So basically until gog becomes older than 1 year, all big downloads will just have to be babysat. That's very annoying, im not going to babysit anything.

Well I didn't say that exactly, I was just making the point that this is a -very- new service in the scheme of things, so I'm just saying you should chillax.
When I was having downloader problems too, so I popped to my friends house with my Netbook and downloaded them there (as the downloader worked fine there). After I stopped being lazy, I got round to port forwarding the thing on my router, and this solved my slow rate. I now get 500-600 KB/s all the time.
I'm sure you have a mate's house you can go to just as a test, it might clear a few questions up if they have the same ISP too.
So why can you not leave a file downloading though the browser? Is that when the connection is reset?
Have you got another PC you can try the downloader on? Have you tried uninstalling the adobe air & gog downloader and then reinstalling them? Are you running a software firewall that might be interfering?
Are you using an older router? Several years ago I was having flakey internet behaviour including problems with large downloads. For totally unrelated reasons I bought a new router and most of my problems totally went away, much to my surprise since I thought it was my ISP that was causing the problems.
I never used the downloader. I just download via my browser and away I go.
I think that when networking is involved, it simply can be anything which causes a problem. I was getting 15 minute drops from my wifi connection, so I moved the router in the other room from the desk up ontop of the bookshelf next to it. The problem stopped right away, even though the thing has moved less than a meter.
