Just that? The way From Earth LPed them, the entire series is a laugh riot, were people suddenly feel urges to dig through dung, jump down dark holes and push furniture.

the mirror room in Silent Hill 3 is pretty much the only thing in a survival horror game that's ever really scared me. I even burst out laughing at the ghost that falls from the ceiling in Fatal Frame 2.

survival horror seems like it just relies on the suspension bridge effect. Exhaust player with bad controls -> player doesn't want to fight enemies because of bad controls -> player is "scared" of fighting enemies QED.

They're games, They're interactive. You're in complete control of how the action proceeds the entire time. The only way to make it seem scary is to interfere with the player's controls/interactivity with the game, kind of like "no don't go over there idiot" in horror movies.

OK I saw the comparisons of the different voice acting from the 2 games and now my opinion is reduced to just," who cares the game still scared me and the acting delivered none the less."

But tell me why do you people think the new voice is horrible and the original was better?

I thought I explained it pretty much in my previous post.
First of all: the original cast was chosen by the people who made the friggin' game and you can expect that they had a better idea of what the characters should sound like than anybody else. But Team Silent did not just choose random voice actors who happen to fit their characters, they really worked with their actors. They even set up special stages in their mocap studio for some scenes so the actors recorded the movements at the same time as they were talking (most notably there is this last talk between Angela and James on the stairs, the actors actually were mocapped talking to each other on stairs). Team Silent was perhaps more passionate and sophisticated when it comes to integrating their actors into the production of the game than anybody else - one has to be a complete moron to come up with the idea that recording new random actors can be an improvement over that.

And just listen to the new actors. The new James sounds like badass who is used to fighting monsters and is now out for revenge because those monsters took his wife. The new Angela sounds like some random woman who happens to be in a scary place. The original Angela sounded odd, almost like a mentally challenged person. But it perfectly reflected her backstory and mental state. Angela was sexually abused by her father as a child and this character was an adult but did almost talk like an insecure traumatized little girl. And the original James also sounded like a regular guy, he sounded weirdly weak and insecure for a monster bashing guy but James is not supposed to be the monsterkiller action hero, he's a tormented guy feeling guilt for his actions. Considering that the monsterkilling part probably isn't even real James does not need a voice that makes that part more believable, he needs a voice that makes him sound normal, weak and tired. And that's what the original actor did perfectly and the new one only clumsily included in his "I'm badass" crap.

But he did not sounded Badass to me, he sounded more emotional and breathy and I say that in a good way but I do not have anything against James's Original Voice now since I saw it again just now. But I could not stand Angela's original voice because even though what you said mabye true, its just too annoying for me, how she cried was like an opera singer.

Also you said james' new voice made him sound like a badass, he was always a badass looking guy, I mean did you not get a closer look at the guy ;)
