We know our little game with closing down the site made some of you angry. Once again we'd like to apologize to everyone who felt deceived by us closing down GOG.com without any warning and without giving you access to your games. We apologize for that from the bottom of our hearts, it was done with the best of intentions and hopefully we can make it up to you!
That being said we'd like to introduce to you the brand new GOG.com. After two years we're finally leaving the beta stage and moving forward to provide you even better service with your favorite PC classics. Leaving beta means lots of changes to the site itself, as well. A sleek new design makes it even easier to browse through the huge catalog, share one's passion for classic games via popular social media, get to know more about the classic games available and recommend favorite titles to other gamers. Among other changes, the team has introduced GOGmixes, which are, in short, user-created lists of games around one theme. Learn more about all the new features on GOG.com overview page.
But that's not all. What anniversary would it be without some neat presents? We're celebrating the second anniversary with one of the biggest announcements ever for fans of classic PC games - we're reviving Baldur’s Gate and other classic Hasbro-Licensed PC games which will be unveiled gradually in the coming weeks!

Gizmo-guy: One new release, NO promo codes and a laggy(optimized code! HA!) new website! What a HUGE disappointment!!!
Yup, especially the announced increased server capacity seems like a bad joke today.

Exactly my feelings.

Was the new site tested in Chrome? I keep getting white screens, as well as server timeouts and occasionally the page I want.
the site is heaps faster, clicking in game catalogue & then viewing the image is super fast.

the image files come up so fast I almost fell off the chair.

But then again I have a fast new pc.

Pretty sure the site is just getting hammered by the increased traffic. This has created quite a buzz obviously, and people are rushing to check it out or grab their games. They have already stated they are working on adding more servers to handle the traffic.

Already seems to be smoothing out here though, and is running pretty well.

Yep, it was by the traffic. I had the same problems on FF.
You really had me, I was 100% sure you guys were shut down..... but I can't stay mad at you gog.com! All is forgiven!

I'm just so happy you're not really gone \o/
love the look and functionality of the new site but how do you get to and install the downloader now?

The link to it when you add to your download queue no longer seems to be working. Did someone forget something??? ;)
Except for the bumps at the relaunch, I'm digging this new site. After I download the games already on my library, I'll be picking up Baldur's Gate. I'm excited to see where these new partnerships will benefit both GOG and us gamers. :D

Glad you've returned, but this was not funny at all !! Causing a lot of people undue stress is not cool !!
Oops. Double post. My bad.

Glad to have you guys back. Seems like the marketing stunt was at least fairly successful in drawing attention, considering the hammering that the servers seem to be taking. And Baldur's Gate! Yay!

I doubt that there has ever been a brand new website, that run flawlessly right from the beginning. So quit your whining, the new site it only launched a few hours ago.
Haha, I was actually 4 days offline playing Mass Effect 2, so I had no idea what the hell was going on until I saw some 2-day old articles about GOG shutting down. After the first tearful I managed to write the GOG address into my browser, withholding my breath in fear. False alarm! Sometimes it pays off to be such a nerd, I totally missed the whole 2-day period of terror :D
Poop on your stupid stunt.
And poop on your stupid mink video's.

Hope you got a lot of users out of it though.

I will still buy from you, because, where else can you get totally drm free games?

I wont promote the site anymore though.

Anyone want some gog.com stickers?

:(
Welcome back GoG. To celebrate your return, I made a little poem destined for you GoG owners.

To GoG owners from the bottom of my heart.

I will never forgive and never forget,
But I'll keep supporting and you know that.
But yet I have to say
It wasn't fair and you are GAY.
