ShedoSurashu: First of all, thanks for doing this. :) I just bought my first GOG games yesterday. Additional games would really be awesome.

I voted for Public GOG Profiles and Public Wishlist since I feel it greatly adds to the "community" aspect of GOG and would be really awesome if one can share his / her wishlist with friends in case of spontaneous gift-giving from said friends. :)

Community made wiki page for GOG which includes an add on that allows you to sync your GOG wishlist and share it with others.
A good way to get a public wishlist although not enough people use it just now.

Thanks! I saw a user page on this wiki awhile back and always wondered how they imported their game shelf and wishlist into it. I never got to digging around how to actually set up a profile page with game shelf and all.

Still though, it would be nice to have an in-house solution for convenience's sake. :)
Hey everyone. I have been surfing the internet on a tablet and playing a few simple games here and there. I haven't been in gaming since my 360 broke a year ago, and I haven't been into computer gaming in a long time. I quit procrastinating and got my laptop repaired, and then I found this site while looking to download a few of my older favorites like the Baldur's Gate series. This site is great! I found a lot of my favorite older games and a few I never got into, and I put a lot on my wishlist. Anyway, I had already voted for some games on the Community Wishlist so I might as well record those here and get in on the action :)

I voted for:

No One Lives Forever 1&2 (never played the second one, first one was very cool)
Age of Empires (never played the first one)
Age of Empires II (played this game to death back when)
Black & White (played this a little bit but would like to try again)
System Shock 1&2 (never got to play these)

dovahcore: Hi Azilut, I PM'd you two Duke Nukem 3D codes for this giveaway.
Many thanks! OP updated.

Unrelated note: I'm in the middle of moving this week, so if anyone PMs me and I don't respond for a day or two, please don't take it personally - I probably just don't have internet access.
Ahoy there. Figured I may as well drop my usual lurker status to get in on this, plus from what I've seen GOG seems to have a much nicer community than most other forums I've come across. Anyway, I voted for...

System Shock 2 - Heard a lot of good stuff about it, looks interesting, but I've never had a chance to play it.

Morrowind - Got it, love it, but my version is the xbox one. Be great to have it for the PC for the mods.

Every XCOM in sight - I'm a tactics game addict... wanted to try this one for years, but the only copy I was ever able to get was also one that I could never get to run. Haven't had any problems from GOG's games so far, so if they added any of these I'd buy 'em in a second.

Princess Maker 2 - A friend showed me this some time ago. Was surprisingly addicting for something that's mainly a simple time management sim.

Civilization 2 - Played this game to death. Literally, since the disc borked on me. Would love a digital copy.

Also voted for other things... but if I listed them all individually this post would get completely out of hand. Got a bit too carried away on the wishlist, I think. Oh well.
BUMP!

Azilut: The December sales are bringing in a lot of new blood, and also prompting a lot of giveaways. Unfortunately, many of these giveaways are closed to anyone who has registered in the last few months. While I understand the reasons for this (to cut down on scammers), I think it's too bad that the newcomers aren't getting to join in the fun.

Also, I've won two giveaways in the past 24 hours - the balance must be restored!

So, I'm giving away two $9.99 shopping sprees at GOG.com to members who have registered on or after November 1st, 2012.

EDIT: Other GOG members have now contributed additional prizes! Too many to list here; see below for what can be won!

And since I'm addressing newcomers, I might as well use this opportunity to draw attention to one of this site's features: the community wishlist. This is where you vote for games you would like to see released at GOG.com, or site features you would like the GOG team to implement. While this doesn't necessarily determine the order in which games get released (GOG still has to secure the rights, after all), it does presumably give GOG some ammunition when trying to persuade publishers to release their games here ("Look at how many people have requested it!").

So to enter this giveaway, here's what you need to do:

1. Head on over to the Community Wishlist
2. Vote for something (or many things! Or add your own request!)
3. Come back and post in this thread, and tell me what you voted for (and why!).

Please only enter if you want the games for yourself, or as gifts for someone you know. If you're just looking for codes to trade, then please get them elsewhere.

Contest ends at some point on December 21. I will randomly pick two winners using random.org. The winners can send me a PM asking for up to $9.99 worth of games at any point until the end of the holiday sales.

That's it! Welcome to GOG.

UPDATE: The following generous GOG users have contributed additional prizes to be won (unless stated otherwise, all codes are for GOG.com):

mistermumbles: Two additional $9.99 shopping sprees!
Braussie: Two codes for Duke Nukem 3D
Gazoinks: One code for Duke Nukem 3D
Dovahcore: Two codes for Duke Nukem 3D
Benderz: One code for Duke Nukem 3D, one steam key for Worms Crazy Golf
Raze_Larian: One code for Divine Divinity, three codes that each contain eight interplay games (VR Soccer '96, Kingdom: The Far Reaches, Evolva, Screamer, Shattered Steel, Jagged Alliance 2: Unfinished Business, M.A.X. + M.A.X. 2, Conquest of the New World))
Triock: One code for Metro 2033 (steam)
Bloodygoodgames: One code for Divine Divinity
jodaneil3: Eve Online starter pack (Redeemable on Eve website)

A big round of applause to all these generous contributors!
Just joined up a few days ago, been buying my childhood/teenage years ever since! I voted for Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodllines, I remember it being a great game that I never got around to playing enough. Mechwarrior II, I can remember playing this game with my friends after school, woudl be a trip to see it again. Also voted for the Wizardry series, always heard great things about them but never got a chance to play.
Hey there, thanks a lot for this chance! I've been here for what, two days now? Still, I can already tell the community is great.

I voted for Diablo, Age of Empires, Doom, Metal Gear Solid and Carmageddon 2; I know most of those are self explanatory, but I also picked Silent Hill 2, an all-time favorite that, unfortunately, refuses to work properly.
I like the idea of a giveaway for new members. +1 rep!

I would like to like donate a GOG code for Quest For Glory 1-5! Just tell the winner to PM me for the GOG code!

I'll do that, thank you!
Hi,
Thanks for this man, and my vote goes for The Curse of Monkey Island, just wanna play it again !! :)
BUMP
Hello everyone. Thanks for doing this great giveaway.

I voted for:

Hexen II: I don't know too much about this one to be honest, but from the gameplays I've seen it looks quite good and I like the dark fantasy setting.

I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream: I've read the original short story, really liked it, and I find the idea of a game based on it rather intriguing.

The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall: One of my favourite RPGs. I got it a few years ago when Bethesda released it for free on their website and I think it would make a great addition to the other free games on GOG, if Bethesda allow it of course.
Time for BUMP :D
BUMP! Last chance, I'm probably going to close the contest in an hour or two.
