GOG loves D&D

The Best of The Best. Unrivaled Champions of the genre. Nine of the Greatest. The Supreme Achievement of isometric era. Matchless. Perfect. 11 out of 10. Yes, you've guessed it--we're talking about D&D RPGs. From now until Friday, September 21 at AM 9:59 GMT [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/hasbro_stacking_promo/]you can buy fantastic Hasbro RPGs from the world of Dungeons and Dragons up to 65% off! If by some terrible twist of fate you didn't have the chance to add all of those Diamonds to your collection, now is a chance to correct this terrible injustice. Let's take a peek into the treasury, shall we?

In the center of our D&D chamber we've got the iconic Baldur’s Gate: The Original Saga and Baldur’s Gate II: Complete that collectively received over 10 “Best game of the year” awards from publications such as PC Gamer, Eurogamer, Computer Games Magazine and IGN. And in the cold, ice-filled corner there's the Icewind Dale and Icewind Dale 2 series that brought the D&D license to a more combat-oriented RPG gaming. The strange shimmering light comes from the inter-dimensional portal where Planescape: Torment resides. Winner of multiple RPG and Game of the Year awards in 1999, it is widely considered as one of the best storytelling RPGs in gaming history.
The treasure chamber wouldn't be complete without Neverwinter Nights--a game with a great single player campaign that offers even greater multiplayer experience and modding capabilities. This game is literally one you could play the rest of your life, if you were determined to get through every single user-created campaign or keep attending a multi-player server. And don't forget about the somewhat underrated gems in the collection! Dungeons & Dragons: Dragonshard is a fascinating blend of RPG and RTS. Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone is an action RPG with some interesting tactical elements to go along with the usual hack and slash of the genre. Finally, Temple of Elemental Evil, one of the tougher tactical RPGs ever--so hard that it balances on the fine edge of fairness.

A short news post like this is not nearly enough to give justice to each single D&D Diamond available in this promo. And because GOG staff loves D&D so much we are going to tell you about our personal experiences with those games throughout the week, starting tomorrow. But enough talk! Let the D20s roll! Visit the promo page to complete your collection of Diamonds of D&D!
Just bought Baldur's Gate, Demon Stone, Planescape: Torment, and Dragonshard to finish up my D&D Collection. Great promo, GOG!

Latenius: And if someone would be kind enough to tell me: Are there enough easter eggs/references to Salvatore's Drizzt books (or similiar) that to get full experience I should read the books before playing Baldur's Gate?
You'd be fine not reading them first, I'd say. I read a few afterwards and I didn't feel like I should have read them beforehand.

I have (or have access to) a lot of these (BG1+2, PST, IWD, NWN) via my/my dad's original box copies, but I'm considering buying BG1+2 and PST for the goodies and a CD-less backup. I'll definitely be getting TOEE and NWN2, as I have never played them before. No interest in Demon Stone (have it for Xbox) or Dragonshard. Decisions, decisions...

Edit: Have bought TOEE and NWN2 for now, will probably wait to get the others for backups/extras. Excited to play! And if you don't have them, get BG1+2 and PST...some of my (and many others') most well-loved games.

Faithful: I thought gog had moved beyond the buy-them-all for the best deal approach, but sadly it has not.

Too bad as I see a couple titles to add to the ones I already own from gog, but it is a no go at less than 50% off.

tfishell: On the other hand, I think it has been quite some time since they've used this kind of deal. (I thought you were protesting Gorky 17.)
Yes it has been some time since this type of deal and I would likely think for a good reason; people did not like them by-in-large.

Regarding Gorky 17 you are mixing apples and oranges while it appears trying to make a point of some nature. I am not protesting Gorky 17 or anything here; I own the game. I am against how gog has left people with a clearly broken game with no recourse, and no hope of fixing the game. What I have suggested is that gog be honest with users and tell them up front it does not work with newer video cards, and that it must be run in software rendering mode.

The most I have asked for is a free code from gog for those that bought the game for such a poor presentation to its customers.
The promo I've been waiting for since I'm on gog. Thanks a lot!
I like promoos where I don't get tempted to buy anything! I have em all already, I did ping it on Failbook though.

gandalf.nho: "Nice, you own all games from this promo.", but is a excellent promo.

Now, waiting for a Thief series promo.
ditto :)
Questions for GOG: I understand that NWN Diamond doesn't include Premium Modules like Wyvern Crown of Cormyr or Infinite Dungeons. Is there something you can do to bring the remaining Premium Modules for NWN1? Or is it beyond your possibilities?

Also, y u no have NWN2 yet?
This is THE promo I have been waiting for. Half my wishlist right here. What a steal for $30, love you guys!!
I'm definitely with with the "get NWN2 on GOG in this instant!" crowd. That game was pretty good, but what I was really impressed with was its first expansion Mask of the Betrayer. They've done a really interesting and unique portrayal of Rashemen there.

And once again: buy Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II, and Planescape: Torment. Do it.
Ahahah, this promotion has a very good timing! (same day as the kickstarter of Obsidian) :o)

I like the sound of that. Adding that to my wishlist.

Point? I was just curious about why you were purchasing if you were (as I said) "protesting" their lack of care for Gorky, but after reading your posts about it on the Gorky forum, you did say that you'd just be far more careful about purchasing here (not that you wouldn't stop purchasing completely).
Or in the case of Baldur's Gate you could buy the enhanced edition from Beamdog available on September 18th. Yea, it costs more but you get more content. In all likelihood GOG has this D&D sale on precisely because it is coming out.

Hassle free packaging with soundtrack, goodies, and portable convenience.

Done and done.

Sure, I'm all for BG:EE. Can't wait for the release - four more days, fingers crossed.

Still, if someone is new to the BG games at least getting BG2 now would be a good idea in my opinion, seeing as BG2:EE probably won't be out for another year or so, and that's just way too long a time to wait for playing such an outstanding game.

Edit: Scratch that, BG:EE release date is now November 30th. That's a bummer.
