Heroes of Might and Magic series, Assassin's Creed, Rayman Origins, FarCry 1 and 2, modern Prince of Persia games, and many more unforgettable Ubisoft titles 60% off

Welcome to our unbelievable [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/ubisoft_weekend_promo_020514]Unbelievably Ubi promo, celebrating one of the most unique modern game publishers: Ubisoft, famous for releasing original titles, full of pure gaming magic and memorable moments. This weekend you can get more than 40 Ubisoft titles 60% off. Amazing action-adventures in the ancient or medieval Middle East or dystopian future, first-person perspective shooters telling the stories of secret agents or special forces operatives stranded on dangerous islands, strategies set in fantastic lands, the distant future, or our very own mundane reality, colorful platformers, racing games, classic dungeon-crawling RPGs--all this and more waiting for you and tempting you with low, low prices. Let's put some titles in the spotlight, shall we?

Heroes of Might and Magic is a game series so prominent, that it surely needs no introduction. In fantasy turn-based strategies it's quite hard to find a match for this legendary saga that challenges our strategic and management skills since the year 1996. Based on the successful setting of the fan-favorite classic cRPG, Might and Magic, it achieved a great balance between accessibility and complexity that resonates perfectly with gamers. After all these years Heroes of Might and Magic 3: Complete Edition is still considered by many to be the perfect turn-based strategy title. Some fans, however, prefer the more modern Heroes of Might and Magic 5: Bundle, that takes the beloved mechanics into the beautiful realm of 3D graphics. That's only two titles, though. All of our Might and Magic games, strategy and RPG alike, can be found 60% off in the promo page.

is an iconic character and his platformer games entertained generations of gamers. As many other platformer series, his adventures also took a turn into the realm of 3D. They were quite successful at that, mind you, but there's something about the run-and-jump genre, that simply makes it work best in two dimensions. [url=http://www.gog.com/game/rayman_origins]Rayman Origins takes us back to the 2D roots of platformer gaming, and reminds us why this kind of graphics and this kind of gameplay is a perfect match. Plus, it introduces a lot of fresh ideas while doing so.

Far Cry and Far Cry 2: Fortune's Edition will take you on a dangerous voyage through breathtaking locations filled to the brim with dangerous foes and ruthless beasts. The first one released 10 years ago, those elaborate FPS titles were deemed revolutionary--not only in the graphics layer, but also for their huge open worlds allowing for semi-sandbox gameplay. Are you ready to face the tropical heat?

All of those Ubisoft games, and many more, can be yours for 60% off this weekend. Go to the Unbelievably Ubi to check out the details of this Unbelievably Ubi sale. The offer ends on Tuesday, May 6 at 3:59AM GMT. Don't miss out!

phaolo: What do you think:
- Rayman 2 or 3 or just wishlist Origins? (I loved the first one)
Rayman 2 and Origins are certainly worth buying.

grimgroove: Does anyone have any thoughts on Battle Isle? Looks interesting, missed it on my first promo-buy-spree but it does look very good money-value wise.
Yes: 3.99$ for the Battle Isle Pack is arguably the best deal of this entire weekend sale. I like the old Battle Isle games but my favorite is Incubation and especially the mission disc (tough as nails), it's my favorite squad level turn based tactical game of all time. Just as much fun as combat in the old X-COM but with Quake 2 kinda graphics.

Beyond Good and Evil tempts me every time it's on sale... I either need to cave or avoid looking at Ubisoft promos. :)
Two years ago I purchased Dark Messiah of Might & Magic from Gamersgate and, for my surprise, the single player was DRMFREE.. Right now is not DRMFREE anymore on that store and the download option was removed..

I wonder why that game is not DRMFREE HERE, considering that is more older than Farcry 2..

For me is not a problem because I made my backup of Dark Messiah BEFORE Gamergate removed the DRMFREE version.. I was thinking in the other persons whom would like to have Dark Messiah DRMFREE.
Even at 60% off, if any of this was available for Mac, I would have a field day. Eventually I may try to get around things with Wine and see what I can get into, but for now I'm content to buy from gog's Mac catalog.

You guys have fun with this sale. I'm envious - a bunch of great games.

And I can't wait to see what's in store for the big, fun May promotion some upcoming weekend.

Edit: I actually depart on an 1800mi (2900km) drive from Seattle to Iowa tomorrow morning, so at least I'll have gas money. Thanks gog! :)

Wait, what do you mean? Isn't it DRM free here? All games on GOG are DRM free, right?

edit: I was confused, the game isn't available on GOG at all, you were asking why it wasn't on GOG...

I'd say skip straight to Origins. It's one of my very few five-starred GOG games. It's just pure 2D platforming bliss from start to finish, even if those challenge level treasure chest runs were mildly infuriating. ;) I love the look, feel, and sound of it all.

Well, if you ever do decide to go that route I highly recommend Wineskin, which creates self-contained wrappers. Once set up - more often than not it's quite easy to do - they'll act like any other Mac app.

EDIT:
I still find it baffling that Settlers 4 seems to be so problematic on Win 8, seeing how Settlers 3 runs just fine and the sequel looks to be using the exact same game engine. Oh well. I still haven't played part 3 properly yet anyway. Saves me some money yet again.

I'm definitely getting better at restraining myself... but it also helps that I practically bought everything I want from this offer a good while ago. ;)

tinyE: SHIT. There goes any chance I had of buying food this month.

1) Is Battle Isle strict TBS (movement points etc)?
Yes but the MP do not include shooting, i.e. you can move a unit as far as it can go and it still can shoot. The first ones have a movement phase and a shooting phase which mean the enemy you want to shoot at might have moved out when it's your turn to shoot. They're also very dated control wise and the way they show the screen but they're excellent if once you get used to it. By Battle Isle 2 they went to average mechanism of moving and shooting in the same turn. Incubation is like the combat phase of Jagged Alliance and Xcom but better, you can jump in the member of your squad to see what they see.

Battle Isle is the reason I joined GOG.

Have fun! Road trips are fun :)
Just a mad idea here but why not buy a second-hand laptop pc with something like a dual-core 2.1Ghz+2Gb ram... at least in Europe you could get one for about 100-150 eur. Just to link this with the Weekend promo, most of these games do work with my old laptop that has 1.8Ghz dual-core and 2Gb ram with vista... And if I tried to sell this to someone I'd be lucky to get a hundred euros... I'm Sure Macs are great too - I was an amiga-nutter once and still not too crazy for windows, but it's just these great games and because of GOG! :)

Ah, Battle Isle!

Do you like 3D platformers or not? If yes, then Rayman 2 is very nice. If you hate 3D platformers, however, Rayman Origins is a one-way road. Keep in mind, though, the following:
a) Save game corruption. (Search google for more info on that one!)
b) More enjoyable on multiplayer, but...
c) ...game can zoom out so far in multiplayer that it can be hard to tell what the hell is going on.

Here's hoping we can get Settlers 6 sometime. We should be able to get 6 and all it's extras and expansions, seeing it's been out a while and there is another game after it, being 7. I guess some opinions of this one were mixed but a lot of the bugs/crash reports were fixed by patch 1.7. And it's also supposedly DRM-free. I guess Settlers 7 had their DRM removed a while ago, but I can see us score 6 first.

I appreciate the tip. A few more weekends like this and I may just jump in! Though, see below.

This will be a great trip. Visiting my new nephew, plus climbing mountains and highpoints in Montana, Wyoming, and South Dakota on the way. Fun!

I hadn’t really considered a used PC yet. It’s a great idea and I may just take a look. I had been thinking about getting an iMac for the last year or so, but my spending spree on GOG since February has the majority of the Mac catalog on my shelf – almost entirely at sales price, no less. (I have even played some of them!) I’ve always been a “collector” so those Windows games are looking pretty nice – and my thoughts have recently started to include a new PC instead of an iMac. As Cyberpunk was my pen & paper RPG of choice in high school, and assuming CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 will have requirements beyond my MacBook Pro, I may just have to get a sweet new PC at release. :)
Just when I thought my wallet was safe . . .

I think I'll snag: Splinter Cell, Silent Hunter 2, and Driver. Oh, okay, maybe Battle Isle too! XD
