Get Thief, Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Soul Reaver, and more Square Enix titles 50% off!

If you read the tagline, what more is there really to add? Our [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/square_enix_weekend_promo_080213]Ultimate Square Enix promo offers you the chance to get games from some of the most exciting series with a nice 50% off discount. Square Enix catalog features some of the most impressive gems in the GOG.com offer. Titles that evoke memories and emotions in thousands and thousands of gamers. The character cast of the Square Enix stable alone is impressive enough to make one's heart race. If GOG.com had a red carpet, celebrities such as Lara Croft, Garret the Master Thief, Agent 47, Kain and Raziel, and JC Denton would arrive to walk it on a limousine marked by Square Enix logo. Let's take a quick look at the featured games, shall we?

Lara Croft is the ever-shining star of the Tomb Raider series. Lately her character has undergone some major changes. Here, we give you a chance to spend some quality time with good--erm--classic Lara. Tomb Raider 1+2+3, Tomb Raider: Last Revelation + Chronicles, and Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness sum up all of the miss Croft's early career, for only $4.99 each!

Yet another hero who is a fan of property re-assignment concept, Garret the Thief is now preparing a big return. On GOG.com you can catch up wit all of his adventures, as long as you can keep up with him, as he silently moves through the shadows. Thief Gold, Thief 2: The Metal Age, and Thief 3: The Deadly Shadows let you experience the life of a thievery archmaster, for only $4.99 each!

Also preferring to keep a low-profile, Agent 47 is the main character of the Hitman series. The newest game featuring the bald assassin brought a lot of new ideas to the table, and not all of them met with gamers' appreciation. We give you first two classic Hitman games: Hitman: Codename 47 for only $2.99 and Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, for only $4.99!

That's only a small taste of the Square Enix title you can get 50% off this weekend. Head out to our Ultimate Square Enix promo page, to check out the whole offer!

Below, you'll find a new episode of This Week on GOG, a short video guide to recent events, promos, and other happenings on the site. By the way, if you haven't already, you might want to follow the GOG.com channel on Youtube, so you won't miss our shows, specials, and exclusive trailers.

Stooner: and, carnival goes until tuesday here...
avatar
keeveek: It does here too, but the last weekend of carnival is always the best. You know, people have to go to work :P
Work? Only after wednesday, the hangover day...
Am I too late to the party? Well, nonetheless...as someone, who once was the target of one of Licurgs "Death wishes" (can't remember the topic), I only can say: I'm still alive and kicking!

And after reading all the related posts (from both Licurg and Gameon (and the thread from Gameon over there on steamgifts)), I think, I can boil the whole thing down to two conclusions:

1.) Licurg is a little sick fuck;

and

2.) Gameon is a little drama queen.

And both shouldn't play in the same sandbox at the same time.

---------------------------------------------------

Oh, and as an totally unrelated sidenote:
I ended up buying four games from the promo. ;o)

I've bough 3 games from the promo and gifted 2 presently.

I bought LoK Soul Reaver 1 & 2 and also Blood Omen 2.

Have Soul Reaver on PSN already but also replacing my disc based PC copy of the game, thing is though the PC version requires a Directinput pad so its keyboard only till I get one of the Logitech pads that have the DirectInput switch on the back.

So I am all set for a retread through Nosgoth, think I need to get the very first Blood Omen game from PSN so I have the full set.

So to start its going to be Blood Omen 2 before the Soul Reaver games to keep the story in line and sequence.
I hate to derail the thread with a question about one of the games on sale but... I will anyway because truth be told, I really don't hate it that much.

I have all the LoK games here except Soul Reaver 2. That one I own for the PS2. Should I grab it for PC? Is it notably better for visuals? I imagine they are otherwise the same?

Do you have a PS3 Dual Shock contoller if so just nab motionjoy DS3 Tool itallows you to use your PS3 Dual shock on your PC plus it also can be set to emulate a 360 pad and then just use Xpadder or joy2key to map the keyboard inputs to the controller for SR1. If you do try this in the DS3 tool menu just set the controller to PS1 mode that way the analog sticks should be "disabled" and Raziel should control normally

I have a 360 pad but when I try using that on the first game Raziel just runs around in big circles!

I will need to use XPadder, I think it will be the only way round without buying another pad. Its just a bit of a chore to set it up!
Your mileage may vary, but might x360ce help you out? Even I don't have trouble using that, without any pressing need for set-uppery.

true, it can be a pain but once you have it set up just save the profile and you should be fine,I also found it came in handy for Tomb Raider's 1-3, Rayman 1 and 2, earthworm jim 1+2, wing commander and a few others but that is just me through.

I had never really used it previously, so just opened the manual (thanks for supplying this GOG!!) and entered the keys into the profiler and saved it. Had to tweak a bit to get them in just the right positions on the pad but easy enough to do. Now playing and succeeding nicely and have reached the first Stronghold to get my first power.

Absolutely love the Kain series, the storytelling is some of the best ever wrote in gaming history.

Need to look in the support bit though as the opening cinematic did not play where you see Raziel get his wings ripped off by Kain, no doubt this will be a daft on to fix, may try the DEP settings first.

ne_zavarj: May i beg for Gangsters: Organized Crime ? :)
Wow.

I have to give you credit for one thing. You don't fool around dropping hints about your personal finances, when your payday is, how you wish you could afford a three dollar game now, etc.

You just come right out and shamelessly beg.

I must be a fool. Here I am getting by on social security disability and I manage to find funds for games this inexpensive. Yet, every time there is a thread for a sale, without fail there is the litany of posts about how people can't afford this game or that, payday is later, how can you do this to me GOG, hint, hint, hint and then even brazenly begging and what is amazing to me is these ploys work.

I'd have to be pretty damned hungry to beg for food. Begging for a three dollar game just blows my fucking mind.

I have gifted ne_zavarj Hitman Codename 47 an hour or two ago. Didn't mind at all as he does contribute a fair bit to the community and has done a fair few giveaways in the past.

I am on disability myself due to my condition, as a family we manage just fine and always have a few quid left at the end of each week. Occasionally I have asked for a few bits and bobs when something has landed in a sale here and absolutely no cash left at all till the following week and have been gifted by some great users, so the way I see it is someone has done it for me so in turn do it for someone else.

Anyhow, fixed the no intro thing on Soul Reaver, just had to tick run as admin and also the bottom 3 options on the compatability tab on the exe and now it plays in all its pixelated glory. Running lovely with the pad so need to setup profiles for the other GOG games I have like Urban Chaos in XPadder.

jackalKnight: Are the Legacy of Kain games any good? Which are your favorites?
Soul Reaver 2 was great, but this series has a long deep storyline so I think you should start playing from SR1.
However all of them have bad control especially with keyboard+mouse(although I could beat SR1&2 with them) so be careful.

BTW, I bought couple of games and Daikatana. Why? Don't know. But i feel great.

Well, what gets me is that after begging for a game and getting it from someone, I get a PM asking me to help him purchase a Rage DLC on Steam. So I guess he did have some money or he wouldn't be buying DLC on Steam.

Anyway, sorry but the amount of begging and hinting I see on GOG does at times annoy me and this was one of those times.

Don't worry, those of us around enough are fully aware of Ne_zavarj and his barrage of 'I'm out of money' or his blatant 'This game is on my wishlist' (hint hint) posts that he leaves *everywhere*, his continuous posts and reposts of his wishlist in the gift giving thread, which, did you know, seems to contain almost every game in the GOG library.

I'll give him kudos for outright asking for it this time though, lately it seemed he wasn't even bothering with that anymore. It was just 'This is on my wishlist' with the simple expectancy to be gifted it.

I thought he was going away for a year because we aren't nice enough or something. I guess he finished his backlog and needed to return early. lol
