Get Thief, Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Soul Reaver, and more Square Enix titles 50% off!

If you read the tagline, what more is there really to add? Our [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/square_enix_weekend_promo_080213]Ultimate Square Enix promo offers you the chance to get games from some of the most exciting series with a nice 50% off discount. Square Enix catalog features some of the most impressive gems in the GOG.com offer. Titles that evoke memories and emotions in thousands and thousands of gamers. The character cast of the Square Enix stable alone is impressive enough to make one's heart race. If GOG.com had a red carpet, celebrities such as Lara Croft, Garret the Master Thief, Agent 47, Kain and Raziel, and JC Denton would arrive to walk it on a limousine marked by Square Enix logo. Let's take a quick look at the featured games, shall we?

Lara Croft is the ever-shining star of the Tomb Raider series. Lately her character has undergone some major changes. Here, we give you a chance to spend some quality time with good--erm--classic Lara. Tomb Raider 1+2+3, Tomb Raider: Last Revelation + Chronicles, and Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness sum up all of the miss Croft's early career, for only $4.99 each!

Yet another hero who is a fan of property re-assignment concept, Garret the Thief is now preparing a big return. On GOG.com you can catch up wit all of his adventures, as long as you can keep up with him, as he silently moves through the shadows. Thief Gold, Thief 2: The Metal Age, and Thief 3: The Deadly Shadows let you experience the life of a thievery archmaster, for only $4.99 each!

Also preferring to keep a low-profile, Agent 47 is the main character of the Hitman series. The newest game featuring the bald assassin brought a lot of new ideas to the table, and not all of them met with gamers' appreciation. We give you first two classic Hitman games: Hitman: Codename 47 for only $2.99 and Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, for only $4.99!

That's only a small taste of the Square Enix title you can get 50% off this weekend. Head out to our Ultimate Square Enix promo page, to check out the whole offer!

Below, you'll find a new episode of This Week on GOG, a short video guide to recent events, promos, and other happenings on the site. By the way, if you haven't already, you might want to follow the GOG.com channel on Youtube, so you won't miss our shows, specials, and exclusive trailers.

Are you seriously having a blizzard? Me too. Of course, it's been snowing here off and on since early January so I've actually stopped noticing. After the 1st ten feet you ignore the snow and just start looking for At-At Walkers.
YES!!! Good things do come to those who wait! The time has finally come to pick up the Legacy of Kain series! Thanks, GOG!

N0x0ss: So if I understand correctly, anybody on the forum can wish for the death of anybody without any risk of sanction ?

TheEnigmaticT: Harassment is doing that every day; or to every single post Licurg makes. Wishing ill-will twice in three and a half months? That's not a pattern of harassment, nor is it a serious death threat. If you'd like to test it out, we can see how alarmed Licurg is.

Oh, wait. He's not. Is "I wish you were dead" something that adults say in sensible conversation? Not remotely.

But if you expect a mod to swoop in every time someone said something puerile, delete it, and then ban the user who posted the stupid thing, then the Internet as a whole would only have about 10% of the content that it actually does. Whether that would be for the betterment of society as a whole is up for debate, but that's not how we run the shop around here.

But can you fire them all at once?

DCT: I don't doubt they will(it's one thing you can say, GOG does care about their releases), honestly I wouldn't be sweating it so much if it wasn't for the fact Larry is currently owned by Codemasters who sadly have been selling off the rights to their games left and right to keep their sinking ship afloat so it's always my fear that the games are going to get pulled from sale and thus GOG probley will be unable to update it and so were going to be stuck with the inferior version of Larry 6 and I rather not have to obtain the SVGA version through less then "ideal" means.
avatar
keeveek: I think it comes from their "out of the box experience" model. For example, when they couldn't make Worms 2 multiplayer to run, they cut it off the game :P But with Worms 2 they kinda proved that it is impossible to play multiplayer with Worms 2, so I don't see a problem here.

With Larry, it seems that they cut off the files that players could use to run the game as they please. Or maybe they just didn't get those files from the publisher?
The thing is Larry 6 SVGA as DOES RUN, quite well actually but under dosbox just like every other Sierra game they have here that used the same version of their(sierra's) SCI engine it's just they slapped the release into Scumm VM which doesn't suppourt the SVGA version of Larry 6, but obviously requires less work to get the games to run under since your not fiddling around with settings for 5 games for both PC's and MAC, and called it the day.

No he just said they can not say anything/ "we have no comment at this time" and left it at that. Normally when it comes to legal stuff they usually just say "sadly due to legal reasons we can not release it" or something to that effect but they typically at least say it's a legal issue, which in this case wasn't even mentioned.

Actually, the blizzard is supposed to hit here in full ernest tonight. Just light snow atm. The older I get, the more I hate winter, lol. Gone are my ice hocky on the frozen lakes days. Now, I love the warm sunny dayz to take my Harley out on a nice long adventure...me thinks it's definitely time to move south...just gotta try to sell tthis house, without taking too much of a beating in this damn economy. Sounds like you live up near Rochester, N.Y. or Northern New England with lots of snow like that

Michigan U.P.
280 inches a year average. Its actually nowhere as bad as it sounds. When you get 280 every year you get to to know how to deal with it. Still, it's fun to scare the piss out of people. It's actually great for business as an innkeeper; more snow, more guest, more money, more games.

Its not a death threat but its also something we can do without. There can be puerile behavior and arguments/disagreements,it's just something that's always going to be around... but there's a line where things turn just nasty, personal and unhelpful to everyone and can actually turn people off using this site (Which, uh, happens to be a bad thing XD).

I'm pretty sure 'I Wish you were dead' is something that crosses that personal boundary and for me, it is unacceptable behavior. I'm sure there are several other people who believe the same way.

On a more positive note: Startopia! I gotta try and grab that :D I used to own it on disc but it got scratched to hell :(

Kunovski: I'm seriously considering getting the Blood Omen series (I have the first one as an original CD so I'm all set :)

anyhow, what's the order I should play the games?

1) Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain
?) Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2
?) Legacy of Kain: Defiance
?) Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
?) Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2

can anyone help? :)
Here.
Hope you have some free time, this isn't a short read but it helped get me in line when I decided to take on the task of getting the whole LOK series. A task which has been made successful due in large part to all the ultra groovy people in this forum.
