I'm so sorry wallet...

...I'm so sorry...
Oh shit, so...many.....good.....games....and so little money on my bank account. I love these promos and also hate them. I've promised to my girlfriend that I'll try to save some money....ugh.

Well, I've just bought HoMM 5 + Driver Parallel Lines nevertheless. Prince of Persia Trilogy will wait.

Warning : Far Cry 2 is a bit better than expected.
Ah, good. Time to get PoP Warrior Within and The Two Thrones, + XIII, I guess.

So far we've had Hasbro, Squeenix, Activision, Atari and now Ubisoft. Heh, that probably leaves EA for the next weekend. The weekend AFTER the conference. *_*
Is Might and Magic IX any good? I have all the other might and magic games. I think I bought the others in an earlier promo. Also why does everyone in the reviews section of HOMM V rave on about HOMM 3 so much. What is so good about this game?

Luckily for my wallet, GOG doesn't have these tempting EA ones known to me as instant "take everything!" triggers here. #halffullglass

Somehow promos on GOG become larger and more often in the last weeks. Everything must go feeling. I finally feel the Ubisoft titles are priced correctly. :)
Damnit! Its gonna be tough holding off from completing my HOMM collection this weekend (except 4 of course)
Another great promo - and again I have to buy a game, which I'm probably not going to play for some time - I just have too many games to play.... I wanted to buy HoMM5 for XMas, but it looks like Santa wants to spoil me in October!! And the main reason I'm buying this game is to show Ubisoft that DRM-free is the way to go for many many many gamers!! Hopefully their hearts will change and one day I would like to see Heroes 6 - well I know that after HoMM3 there is no proper successor, but if you don't have any better options and you truly love TBS you will play what you can (and thanks God for King's Bounty series - maybe Heroes 7 will take some elements from that series). Thanks gog!!

serpantino: Is Heroes of Might & Magic 2 DosBox'd? I'd like to have it on my phone. It's really about time GOG put this info on game pages instead of announcing loads of new stuff but rarely ever actually improving what's available (I don't consider the new site to be much of an improvement, especially not given how long it took.)
They are going to support new Operating System in couple weeks (the announcement will be made on October 26th) and hopefully it will be iOS - well as much I like Linux I know that from marketing point of view it will be better for gog to support Macs and IDevices....

It'll be Windows 8
Crap... $30 of approximate spending, if I get the classic Heroes. Then again, I don't fancy Heroes all that much. Although I could get 4 for something different... 2 for the classic formula... 3 for expanding on it... 1 for being the closest to the good ol' King's Bounty. I've got 5 for free from that mcgame. Chronicles... well... maybe just to throw in with the lot.
There's alot of games in this promo. I think it's the biggest standard promo selection i've seen so far.

Why HoMM3 is sooo goood?? Well, let me tell you something - many of those people who rave about this game spent hundreds upon hundreds playing campaigns and maps in Homm3, expansion Armageddon's Blade, Shadow of Death, Heroes Chronicles stand alone campaigns and then there was a great mod called WOG (Wake of Gods)... This was a game that became a first multiplayer for me - I spent so many nights and days playing Hot Seat mode with my friends. Even my brother said to me that his best memories of me spending time with him were when we played this game together in co-op mode and kicked some ass of AI controlled armies!!
The game has great depth and great balance - the town alliances have different set of units with different skills (the units could be upgraded as well), the source management was great, the development of your heroes was so thrilling (after leveling up you could assign points for their attack/defense/magic power and that had direct impact on effectiveness of your army). There were heaps of great artifacts, heroes had many skills to choose from, the new creatures were available only on "Mondays" (first day of the new week), so sometimes being able to get reinforcements just at the beginning of new week was a great tactical advantage. Conquering castles was lots of fun and your hero could not be killed in the fight (like it was the case with HoMM4 and so forth). Even the 2D graphics seem so much nicer and eye-appealing than those 2.5D in HoMM4 and 3D in HoMM5. Everyone admits that this was and is the best game in the whole series... Don't be scared of the graphics and give it a go!!
Oh, and BTW: I tried hard to jump into HoMMIX, but the gameplay was not as good as it was with MM6,7, and 8...
