Jack Orlando, Two Worlds series, Earth 2100s series, and Knights and Merchants: Now with FLAC soundtracks, 60% off this weekend!

This weekend, we offer you GOG's entire [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/topware_weekend_promo_040714]TopWare catalog 60% off, and you'll find that many of the games have been updated with exquisite new bonus content. Take Knights & Merchants, a medieval real-time strategy with in-depth society simulation and epic-scaled armies. Even though the game came out in 2001, a community of talented fans doesn't stop in their effort to, fix and tweak it, make it enjoyable for the modern gamer, and support it with all the features the fanbase demands. All this goes towards a impressive mod, called KaM Remake. Get the game for only $2.39 check out the mod, and witness the magic of PC gaming community! The game now comes with a new official soundtrack, in both high-quality MP3 and FLAC format.

Not really fond of historical setting? Would you rather take a plunge into a fantastic realm quite different than our reality? The magical land you'll be visiting in Two Worlds: Epic Edition should easily satisfy all your escapism needs with its vast and lush gameworld, visuals that remain quite impressive even today, and a well-told story that often lets you digress from its main thread. The Epic Edition we offer you, comes bundled with the game's both expansions: Tainted Blood and Curse of Souls. Yours for only $3.99, complete with the new FLAC/MP3 soundtrack, a poster, mocap session footage and additional sketches (the two latter supplied by our user sim2er)!

Fantasy not really your thing? Well, how about some hard science fiction, then? Earth 2140 Trillogy, Earth 2150 Trillogy, Earth 2160--or the Earth 21-something series, as we like to call it--offer top-notch RTS gameplay in a gritty futuristic setting, at $2.39 each! New MP3/FLAC soundtracks have been added to Earth 2140 and Earth 2160, and the latter also received a "making of" documentary.

We've saved the best for last! Jack Orlando: A Cinematic Adventure - Director's Cut tells a story os a private investigator that has seen better days. He's down on his luck and tends to hit the whiskey bottle a little too often, to ease the existential pain. But he’s one of the good guys. He’s actually the one to show some moral fiber in the city that consumes the poor, corrupts the innocent, and spits out the weak. Too bad he ended up in a wrong place at the wrong time and got accused of murder. The game comes with one of the best gaming soundtracks in history. Composed by Harold Faltermeyer it delivers all the old-fashioned lounge jazz one would expect from a noir movie, and sets the perfect mood for the 1933 gritty murder-mystery adventure. You can have this exceptional piece of gaming music in MP3/FLAC format bundled with the game for only $2.39. Highly recommended!

Of course, that's not all of the excellent titles you can find 60% off in our TopWare Reloaded promo this weekend, so head out to the promo page and pick your favorites. The offer lasts until Tuesday, July 8, at 3:59AM GMT.

NOTE:
We're currently in the process of uploading all the new bonus content. It might take a while before all the goodies show up on your shelves, but they will get there today!

tfishell: I'd be REALLY careful with that one. I don't own it but I've definitely heard back things about it on modern machines. That's a title TopWare definitely needs to spend some time fixing.
Well, that's pretty much in line with what I suspected. =( Thanks though, tfishell, I'll sit this one out.

gamefood: Do you know Jagged Alliance 2, resp. ~ Wildfire? If yes: How is Gorky 17 compared to it? (If you've played it already.)
Sorry, I don't know. I hope someone else can jump in with an answer for you.

JaqFrost: Is it possible to run Gorky 17 on Win7? I keep looking at this game every sale and and then putting it back on the shelf, not making a purchase. =/

Well does it work on win 7 x64 though (even unsupported)? cant remember which game i bought... but it was another which wouldnt work on win7 (forgot to check the system requirements before purchase)
Every TopWare promo, I take a glance and think about getting Septerra Core. I wonder if it's finally time to break that streak. :P

Played it on two different PCs, both with Win7, worked just fine .

Mine works without any trouble as well. So it's not like it is bound to not work, JaqFrost.
Win 7 64-bit and AMD card.
Thx for the Jack Orlando score update!

Phil84: I don't have any games on this deal (yet). What games should I get in your opinion?

I'm currently looking at:

- Two Worlds
- Two Worlds 2: Epic Edition
- Jagged Alliance 2: Wildfire (was a fan of Fallout Tactics <3)
I've only played Two Worlds. It's daft, but I'm the sort to laugh myself silly when my character levels up and announces, "I am the best!" It' features a very large map, but with few interesting crannies for its size. I haven't yet finished the game, and I don't know if I will. It's a bit lengthy and dull. That said, I've purchased the sequel because I had a lot of fun with the first game, initially.

I was on the fence about buying it, and then I watched the following mash-up videos and they sold me:
Two Worlds One Cup
Two Worlds One Cup II: All My Gandohars

The videos are stupid and crude, but I laughed enough to buy the game.

Ah, you guys.... You are making this really hard! I guess I now have the rest of the weekend, while I work on my backlog, to make up my mind. =P
Thanks for adding the Jack Orlando soundtrack! That alone makes the game worth a purchase.

Hey, I already got Earth 2150, are the other 2 any worth?

Earth 2160 is *okay* but not more than that, IMO. It has great visuals and some decent ideas (such as completely different base building concepts for each race, two of them pretty original) but I don't recall anything else noteworthy about it. At least nothing that Earth 2150 didn't do already and better. Additionally, as I recall, Earth 2160 is exhaustingly slow. In fact I think that's the main reason I always stopped playing it after a few missions into the campaign.

Also I can't seriously recommend Earth 2140. It's a ridiculously hard C&C clone with few redeeming values. You consider KKND or Dark Reign a bit too hard? Then don't even think about touching Earth 2140.

I personaly quite like Earth 2140 but honestly, I probably wouldn't recommend it. If you don't have nostalgic feeelings for it as i do it is quite not up to par anymore. Also there are problems with the game. The Windows version doesn't have working AI and enemy doesn't build units and the DOS version suffers from slowdowns. I think I would advice you to stay away from it unless you really want sci-fi strategy with bad pathfidning and engine issues where you have to build tons of units or you are completionist and want whole series.
If you like Earth 2150 then Earth 2160 is quite safe bet. It has similar feel to it. It looks better and is more polished but on the other hand doesn't offer the same options in unit builder, it is more story driven (IIRC you play one race after another to progress story, like in Starcraft or Warcraft, not as in Earth 2150) and there isn't sending of units from your main base into missions anywhere and then recallling them.
If you like RTS then it is mostly safe bet, there is nothing inherently wrong with it.
Nice, you own all games from this promo. Is there more TopWare games coming to GOG?
Thanks GOG, TopWare and sim2er for the updates. Particularly like that more FLAC soundtracks are finding their way here.

Now I have 62GB of FLAC music I have downloaded from GOG, Steam, Humble bundles etc that I haven't got around to listening to yet.

Ah if I could buy more time (I'm sure someone will come up with a DLC for that :).

hmm I own all except for the Pinball one, which I don't think would do that much for me. Wondering if I should buy it just so I get that lovely message too :)
