Tales of Monkey Island, all Sam & Max games, and more from Telltale 80% off.

For the last 8 years the talented people at the Telltale Games studio have been delivering the best point-n-click adventures, featuring many of the all-time favorite characters, to our computers' screens. Their episodic publishing formula allowed a steady flow of development and gave the devs time to carefully and lovingly polish all the fine details of their games. Each episode is a little shiny gem, priceless and unique. But here's a thing about buying jewels: you can usually only afford one at a time. So what if you want to catch up with a whole season of episodes of a Telltale adventure--an equivalent of a box full of jewels? You [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/telltale_weekend_promo_9_11_12/]get it 80% off on GOG.com!

The Tales of Monkey Island--starring the world famous hapless pirate, Guybrush Threepwood--offers five chapters of fantastic fun for less than $7!

Back to the Future: The Game offers you a glimpse into the adventures of Marty McFly and Doc Brown, that took place after (or before--time travel is tricky) the movie storyline. Get it for less than $5!

Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures features the very British pair of comedians, that starred in many critically acclaimed movies (well, stop-motion claynimations, actually). The entire season of four episodes can be yours for less than $4!

And last, but not in any way the least: Sam and Max, the freelance sleuth duo consisting of a dog in a trenchcoat and notoriously naked white rabbit, are well known to any adventure fan. Now you can get the entire collection of their adventures--all sixteen episodes produced by Telltale spanning over three seasons: Sam & Max Save the World, Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space, and Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse--for less than $20!

The GOG.com point-n-click all you can eat buffet is now open, so you can finally satisfy your hunger for great Telltale adventures, 80% off! The promo will last until Tuesday, November 13, at 4:59AM GMT.

And in case you missed it, here's what's new... I mean: here's the new episode of our weekly show:

mondo84: Wow, 80% off. Didn't see that coming!

And it's funny now that GOG decided to do bigger discounts, people are still complaining...
It has to do with what they've said in the past about bigger discounts being bad for the industry. This was a big issue, and wavering on this issue could make one wonder where else GOG might waver.

However, I am not interested in these games, but these prices may well be worth it for many people and the sale may do quite well, even better than a 50% off sale. If GOG wants to change this way, fine, but I'd like them to just come right out and say it rather than slithering around the issue. (I guess maybe TET did say something recently, but I can't remember the link...)

I don't think GOG is wavering, I think Telltale just realizes their games are overpriced. I mean, GOG couldn't have done this without their approval.

Maybe, but it can still fall back on GOG, since again, people like TET have said things about huge discounts being bad, and then this happens. I'm not saying this isn't the right thing to do, I'm just trying to say that it's a little unsettling right now.

If Telltale /really/ wants to, they could just lower the prices all around; it's happened to games before on GOG.
Back to the future, Monkey Island - Instabuy.
Next stop: The Walking Dead.

Yes, please!

This. The games were WAY to high in comparison to what I usually spend, and until there was a big sale like this I wasn't going to bite, even though I've been wanting some of them for years. There is simply too many good games to play, so I didn't see the point in forking over so much more for these. Not that they aren't worth full price fun wise. I'm sure they are great, but, I'm a tightwad. I henceforth name this sale: The Telltale Tightwad Deliverance Sale. Thanks for the sale guys! :D
Thanks for the sale! I waited for a Telltale Games sale. The games are great! Bought all games which I didn't already purchased.
There seems to be a lot of anger over this. I guess dissent is inevitable regardless of what GOG do. Anyway, not sure if I'll buy something or not, I'm really not a big TellTale fan and I already have Tales of Monkey Island on disc (maybe grab Back to the Future for my sister), but either way I'm happy for the 80% discount and hope it's applied to other higher priced titles eventually.

Pangaea666: Are the others in the offer any good?

mistermumbles: The Sam & Max line is probably your best bet here. They certainly retain the humor of the franchise, while being a bit lighter on gameplay than the game made by LA. They're still plenty of fun though.
Thanks.

Not touched anything Sam & Max related, but will read up about them and see what I fall down on. Still have a few days to decide.

Any word on Tales of Monkey Island though? Is it sort of "needed" to have plaid the classic games to appreciate them, and understand in-jokes and whatnot?
Coming to the Sam & Max games off Poker Night at the Inventory. Liked that game enough to check these out. Thanks GOG!
Tales of Monkey Island:

Morgan LeFlay was a standout addition to the MI cast of characters.

Her story arc is like nothing seen before in a Monkey Island game --- expect to take a sucker punch to the gut at least twice before the end credits roll.

Picked up the Wallace and Gromit games. I would have gotten the others but I already have them on steam.
Telltale is best, with -80% better :)

I totally just voted for all of them. Although I already have Hector on Steam/Desura, it's hilarious.
