Tales of Monkey Island, all Sam & Max games, and more from Telltale 80% off.

For the last 8 years the talented people at the Telltale Games studio have been delivering the best point-n-click adventures, featuring many of the all-time favorite characters, to our computers' screens. Their episodic publishing formula allowed a steady flow of development and gave the devs time to carefully and lovingly polish all the fine details of their games. Each episode is a little shiny gem, priceless and unique. But here's a thing about buying jewels: you can usually only afford one at a time. So what if you want to catch up with a whole season of episodes of a Telltale adventure--an equivalent of a box full of jewels? You [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/telltale_weekend_promo_9_11_12/]get it 80% off on GOG.com!

The Tales of Monkey Island--starring the world famous hapless pirate, Guybrush Threepwood--offers five chapters of fantastic fun for less than $7!

Back to the Future: The Game offers you a glimpse into the adventures of Marty McFly and Doc Brown, that took place after (or before--time travel is tricky) the movie storyline. Get it for less than $5!

Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures features the very British pair of comedians, that starred in many critically acclaimed movies (well, stop-motion claynimations, actually). The entire season of four episodes can be yours for less than $4!

And last, but not in any way the least: Sam and Max, the freelance sleuth duo consisting of a dog in a trenchcoat and notoriously naked white rabbit, are well known to any adventure fan. Now you can get the entire collection of their adventures--all sixteen episodes produced by Telltale spanning over three seasons: Sam & Max Save the World, Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space, and Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse--for less than $20!

The GOG.com point-n-click all you can eat buffet is now open, so you can finally satisfy your hunger for great Telltale adventures, 80% off! The promo will last until Tuesday, November 13, at 4:59AM GMT.

And in case you missed it, here's what's new... I mean: here's the new episode of our weekly show:
Are the bonus materials for Sam & Max and Monkey Island worth getting? I already have all seasons of Sam & Max and Monkey Island on steam.

Fenixp: ...someone doesn't want to pay full price, why would he do such a thing?
Probably almost everybody always wants to pay the lowest possible price within a certain time period that is available for shopping. The 80% fluctuations is just unexpected and much higher than usual. Usually the normal price is twice, here it is five times! This is like a lottery! People who paid normal price aren't people who have just more money. I think they had a premise that the discounted price is around half, and will feel cheated now.

Of course now the equation has changed. 50 - 80% discount is the new normal.

Anyway if the price fluctuates by factors such as five times more on a daily/weekly basis than predictability is going down the drain. Then customers have additional difficulties getting what they want for a good price at times when they want it. I don't like it and would prefer predictable stable low prices. Just lower the normal Telltale price by 80% or display next to the actual price the lowest price in the last 12 months so people get an idea.
Wow, these are pretty excellent prices!
I don't think that such a big discount is a bad thing sometimes. At least not in this case, these games are seriously overpriced.
I would have bought Wallace and gromit without hesitation, if it wasn't for some forum people pissing me off. Now i'm not sure i'll buy from GOG again.
Is there a discount for those who already own the games on Telltale's store?
A little question about language support.

GOG says for BTTF "Audio and text: English Text only: French, German"

I just bought the game and it also includes german audio. What about the other titles, are there more "errors" like this one in the descriptions?

Interesting info and question.
I say it's kind of a no-brainer to save 140$ dollars with only 30 €, yes?
That is funny, they even mention the 80%.
lol all of a sudden GOG does believe in Steam-like deep discounts. interesting.

it was unavoidable as soon as higher price points had been introduced. the Sam & Max collection is still more expensive than it was on Steam when i bought it a year ago, though.

but i'm glad GOG has recognized the fact that pricing here must be competitive.
What a deal for Back to the future, though i already have them all from Telltale except wallace & grommit that looks atrocious to me.. Also the lack of French language support.. Still, what a price!!
80% off? I'm not surprised :( The base prices of those games are totally ridiculous. They are designed for extremly high discounts like this one. I would prefer a regular price of 15 or 20 dollar and 50% discounts, because the way we're having it now, it is a permanent ripoff. Either Telltale is ripping off the customers ($35? Seriously?) or the customers are ripping off Telltale ($7? *lol* Thank you, idiot!).

HiPhish: 80%, seriously? I already think Steam's absurd 75% sales are destroying the value of games, I really hope this is not going to become the rule here as well. On the other hand, those are adventure games, so for me personally they never had any value to begin with. Maybe others have the same opinion.
I picked up a very large chunk of Telltale's catalog from their site for like twenty bucks a couple of years ago. This had all the Sam and Max seasons, Wallace and Gromit, Strong Bad, and Tales of Monkey Island.

Telltale likes to lower the prices on their classic library every once in a while. More customers = more sales = more fans.

I'm passing on this week's promo. I already own most things on Telltale's site and I'd rather have them there than here due to the bonus DVD they give away.

I must disagree with most :)

First, I don't think anyone needs to feel "cheated" because there is a discount that they were too early or too late to profit from. I honestly just don't understand the reaction. You see a given product for a given current price, and based on that you decide if the product is worth the price for you. It's the same for any purchase decision. If such a decision ends up in a purchase for me, it was because I deemed it worth the money, and that won't retroactively change simply because the offer might change later on.

Also, I don't think that Telltale games on GOG.com are overpriced. In terms of production values and amount of content they're full-price games. Yet they are about half or a third of the price of a regular full-price game. I can say with certainty that for me, a full season of a Telltale game series will entertain me for a lot longer than the average AAA game, and probably hold more replay value as well. Where I live, that kind of money corresponds to between 1 and 2 cinema tickets, which is 2-4 hours of fun. Looking all objectively at the amount of work that went into the games and how much I get out of them, there's no way I would call prices in the $20 to $40 range high.
