The weekend is getting really close now. And we know you're mainly happy about the weekend because it's promo time on GOG, right?!
We must have gone crazy as for the second straight week we're offering our already cheap games for half of the original price! This weekend we're giving you a 50% discount on Strategy First simulation games: Apache vs. Havoc, Comanche vs. Hokum, Darkstar One and the Pro Pinball series including Big Race USA, Fantastic Journey and Time Shock. This time it's not a bundle promo, so you receive the 50% discount if you buy one, two, or all the games from the offering. Check out [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/strategy_first_simulation]the promo page for more details.
Great promo for all pinball and helicopter fans.
All 3 pinball games are enjoyable although if you only go for 1 go for Timeshock its the best with some great music in it.
I am not interested in pinball and helicopter simulators, so I must ask this: anyone recommends Darkstar One?
Neat!
It' really generous of you to give 50% discount no matter what.
I can also advise everyone to get the pinball games, they are totally cool. (My favorite is probably Fantastic Journey, with its incredible steampunk mechanics, but it's very hard to choose between them.) Also, Darkstar One might not be the top of its genre, but I found it highly enjoyable, and I think for $5 it's really worth it.
Is there anyone else that finds it a little ironic that there is not a single strategy game in the promo?:P

Well, yeah, it *is* ironic, but we strategy gamers got our share last week.
Nice catch, BTW ;-).
(Cue Titanium appearing...)

the question is not whether it's worth 5 bucks (even 10 is affordable for everyone I think) but is it worth our time? :D that is much more precious...
This promo seems to be great. However, GOG may want to change the picture for the promo, as I can't see Fantastic Journey on it, even though it's in the promo. When I visited GOG and saw the promo picture I thought Fantastic Journey is not cheaper this weekend. I made this attached screenshot from the main page.
I'm not great with simulator games, but I really liked these pinballs.

I only said it because I remember some users saying DSO isn't worth its price, and that it is a seriously lacking game.
Anyway... I had it before GOG even existed, and I spent quite a bit of time with it; I greatly enjoyed it, and I didn't feel it was wasted time.
If someone finds repetitive games tedious, they probably won't enjoy DSO, as that's its most serious issue (same ship for the whole game, every planet is about the same...), but if you can get over it, the game can get really addictive, as you go on collecting ever more money, upgrading the ship, doing some of the ever-replenishing random quests, and so on.

Thanks! So it's like Diablo in space?

Something like that, minus tons of random gear from loot.
I have them all aside from the Helicopter sims. The completist in my isn't really after them at this time.
The Pinball games, while only one table each; include one very good table. I liked Timeshock and Big Race USA more than Fantastic Journey. Not gotten around to DarkStar One yet, that 'to play' pile does not want to go down.
I play the Pro Pinball games more than most of my other games because they are so fantastic. I have them loaded on a laptop and they are all perfect for a quick little game for when you're on the bus, or going to the bathroom, or if you're going to the bathroom on a bus. Great games. Big Race USA is the best of the lot in my opinion.
Awesome promo guys!!
Just 2 days ago I was debating about putting these titles on my wishlist.
Problem solved.
If only an Activision-lite company like SF wasn't the publisher. :|
