Get Thief, Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Soul Reaver, and more Square Enix classics up to 75% off!

We're all gamers, here at GOG.com, so we know very well that games aren't something you can have. They're something you must have. A commodity, essential to our wellbeing. We take it as our mission to deliver what makes you happy right onto your virtual doorstep. Our weekend [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/square_enix_weekend_promo_040414]Square Enix Supply offers you the chance to get games from some of the most exciting series with up to 75% off discount. Square Enix catalog features some of the most impressive gems in the GOG.com offer. Titles that evoke memories and emotions in thousands and thousands of gamers. The character cast of the Square Enix stable alone is impressive enough to make one's heart race. If GOG.com had a red carpet, celebrities such as Lara Croft, Garret the Master Thief, Agent 47, Kain and Raziel, and JC Denton would arrive to walk it on a limousine marked by Square Enix logo. Let's take a quick look at the featured games, shall we?

Lara Croft is the ever-shining star of the Tomb Raider series. Lately her character has undergone some major changes. Here, we give you a chance to spend some quality time with good--erm--classic Lara. Tomb Raider 1+2+3, Tomb Raider: Last Revelation + Chronicles, and Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness sum up all of the miss Croft's early career, for only $3.99 each!

Yet another hero who is a fan of property re-assignment concept, Garret the Thief has now made a comeback with a new game. The word on the street is that the new title is very nice, but not quite what the long-time fans of the series expected from a Thief game. On GOG.com you can catch up with all of Garret's classic adventures, as long as you can keep up with him, as he silently moves through the shadows. Thief Gold, Thief 2: The Metal Age, and Thief 3: The Deadly Shadows let you experience the life of a thievery archmaster, for only $3.49 each!

Not really in the mood for action and adventure? Startopia takes the classic city-builder genre to the stars and lets you manage a fully simulated alien society of nine distinctive races in which each citizen's mood, needs, and goals can be individually tracked. You'll get some help from VAL--your AI advisor--brilliantly voiced by William Franklyn, the British actor famous for his Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy radio performance. The game is only $1.49 this weekend!

That's only a small taste of the Square Enix titles you can get up to 75% off this weekend. Head out to our Square Enix Supply promo page, to check out the whole offer available until Tuesday, April 8, at 3:59AM GMT. Enjoy your weekend!

Mccy_McFlinn: ...
Thank you for the info :)
I guess, I'll pass then. There are way too many good games to play on my list ^
Some of them come with this promo, but I already own them :]
Ah, these are better discounts than the last promo.

What do you think about these:
- Thief 2 --> I loved the first, expecially for its gameplay, dark plot and different levels. The second seems more famous, but is it better and why? No monsters? : (
- Startopia -> I've only tried a demo in the past and it seemed clunky.. maybe a totally wrong impression?
- Omikron --> any good?
- LoK series --> I've only played the old nice BO1 and then SR2.
About the latter, the story-graphic-music were cool, but the overall gameplay was average! Same levels repeated 2-3 times, no choices, another open ending. Is SR1 better? Are BO2 and Defiance worth playing and do they properly end the story?
- Pandemonium -> another demo (on PS1) that didn't impress me much for both graphic and difficulty. Do you think this is good on PC, instead?
- Project Eden -> good?

Barry_Woodward: Can someone explain to me why Final Fantasy VII and VIII aren't available here?

Because Square-Enix don't want to. The company is extremely protective of their original Japanese games, what they are selling here are just old leftovers from Eidos.
Is it about DRM, regional pricing, or a combination of both?
OK I just had to complete the Thief trilogy with the first one.

Now I need time to play them all... :P

There's none of those there...

Blood Omen 2 is not actually a part of the official storyline, it happens in a parallel universe . So you can skip it altogether story-wise . And I was pleased with the ending in Defiance, although I know others didn't like it.

Startopia is awesome, you'll get used to the interface in about 30 minutes- an hour or so .

petitmal: In that case: why not remove Square from the GOG-catalogue?

Also: I have seen many titles such as Deus EX on a promo a million times... I'd like to see a promo with games hardly seen on a promo before...
Err... to the first, I can only say that's waaay too extreme IMO. So, because a publisher has a standard EULA they reuse everywhere, including steam, no game of theirs should be sold on GOG? Well, you're free to not buy them, but don't take them away from me please.

As for the promos, some games go on sale more than others. But I think they all do at one point or another. It's up to the publisher to let their games be on sale, if you want to buy a game on sale that is only rarely discounted, just keep your eyes open. It's not like GOG can just do a master closs-publisher rotation system to make all games on sale with the same regularity.

I think both. And regional restrictions too. You know, Japanese publishers. All we have from Square here is from the old eidos, the Japanese side doesn't put anything of theirs. Same as with Capcom.

I hesitate a lot to take all the Legacy of Kain series.
Excellent weekend promo; many great games at a very nice price!

Thief 2 and Omikron are definitely must-haves (even though FPS-sections in Omikron are a bit clunky).
This promo is what I call Fair and Square (Enix)!

Already have Thief Gold on Steam, but it can't hurt to get it on GOG too, that way I can redownload the game more easily. (No client and all that) Thief 3 also would be okay to have, for when I finish Thief 1+2. Maybe Deus Ex 2: Invisible War, though some people say it sucked. Dunno, might be okay, and with this sale now's the time to do it.
Up to 75%? Nice. Except the only SE games left on my wishlist are 60%. :(

Still waiting for Blood Omen before buying that Legacy.

Looks like I've already harvested the sweetest fruit from this crop, but it's a good sale for folks who don't have them (especially the Thief games). I have to admit that Total Overdose looks like campy fun, but my next purchase will be my 400th GOG game bought, so I'd like it to be something a bit more notable. :)
What's the difficulty of Omikron and Project Eden?

gandalf.nho: What's the difficulty of Omikron and Project Eden?
Easy to medium IMO.
Project Eden is more puzzle oriented but not in a Myst way. You have a team of 4 distinct characters and as you approach each new dilemma you need to figure out which character works best. Example and MINOR SPOILER!!!: EARLY on you have to get through a 'toxic' room. Well you have 3 humans and a robot....which do you send through the room? It starts like that and gets progressively harder.

Omikron isn't hard but I always thought kind of dull. It looks great and is worth a few bucks for that I suppose.
