Get Thief, Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Soul Reaver, and more Square Enix classics up to 75% off!

We're all gamers, here at GOG.com, so we know very well that games aren't something you can have. They're something you must have. A commodity, essential to our wellbeing. We take it as our mission to deliver what makes you happy right onto your virtual doorstep. Our weekend [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/square_enix_weekend_promo_040414]Square Enix Supply offers you the chance to get games from some of the most exciting series with up to 75% off discount. Square Enix catalog features some of the most impressive gems in the GOG.com offer. Titles that evoke memories and emotions in thousands and thousands of gamers. The character cast of the Square Enix stable alone is impressive enough to make one's heart race. If GOG.com had a red carpet, celebrities such as Lara Croft, Garret the Master Thief, Agent 47, Kain and Raziel, and JC Denton would arrive to walk it on a limousine marked by Square Enix logo. Let's take a quick look at the featured games, shall we?

Lara Croft is the ever-shining star of the Tomb Raider series. Lately her character has undergone some major changes. Here, we give you a chance to spend some quality time with good--erm--classic Lara. Tomb Raider 1+2+3, Tomb Raider: Last Revelation + Chronicles, and Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness sum up all of the miss Croft's early career, for only $3.99 each!

Yet another hero who is a fan of property re-assignment concept, Garret the Thief has now made a comeback with a new game. The word on the street is that the new title is very nice, but not quite what the long-time fans of the series expected from a Thief game. On GOG.com you can catch up with all of Garret's classic adventures, as long as you can keep up with him, as he silently moves through the shadows. Thief Gold, Thief 2: The Metal Age, and Thief 3: The Deadly Shadows let you experience the life of a thievery archmaster, for only $3.49 each!

Not really in the mood for action and adventure? Startopia takes the classic city-builder genre to the stars and lets you manage a fully simulated alien society of nine distinctive races in which each citizen's mood, needs, and goals can be individually tracked. You'll get some help from VAL--your AI advisor--brilliantly voiced by William Franklyn, the British actor famous for his Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy radio performance. The game is only $1.49 this weekend!

That's only a small taste of the Square Enix titles you can get up to 75% off this weekend. Head out to our Square Enix Supply promo page, to check out the whole offer available until Tuesday, April 8, at 3:59AM GMT. Enjoy your weekend!

Everything else I own or I don't really care about
hm... Deathtrap Dungeon - is it really any point getting it?
Time to complete the catalogue, just because.

Aren't you overreacting a bit to an old problem like that?

iippo: ha, finally "good chance" to buy Daikatana :D

or is it D: ? ...not really certain in this case.
Well, let's say that buying Daikatana can undoubtedly be an... educational experience.
I was about to buy the entire collection of Legacy of Kain when I see this:

"ACCEPTANCE OF END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT REQUIRED TO PLAY"

So I click it, then I see this nightmare:

"The terms and conditions of this EULA are without prejudice to any terms and conditions governing your use of any third party proprietary software product including without limitation any STEAM™ software. Such third party proprietary software may be embodied on the media containing this Software Product or otherwise downloaded within the software package containing the Software Product and may be required in order to use certain features of this Software Product, which use may be subject to and conditional upon your acceptance and observance of additional third party end user licence agreements.""

and this:

"WE ARE ONLY PREPARED TO LICENCE YOU TO USE THE SOFTWARE PRODUCT ON THE TERMS OF THIS EULA."

and this:

"7. Termination
Without prejudice to any other rights, Square Enix may terminate this EULA immediately without notice if you fail to comply with the terms and conditions of this EULA. In the event of termination, you must destroy all copies of the Software Product and all of its component parts including any Software Product stored on the hard disk of any computer. All provisions of this EULA relating to disclaimers or warranties, limitations of liability, remedies, or damages and Square Enix’s proprietary rights shall survive termination."

I'm sorry GOG, but I came here to get away from this kind of bullshit, but now you're selling games where we have to accept your competitors EULA/contract to play the games we get from you?
Now, if I somehow misread all this, I apologize; but this all looks extremely fishy to me.
Thankfully, it's only appeared on the Square Enix games on sale, so far. Even "my" (I guess I shouldn't call it that anymore should I?) of Theif GOLD has this malware now.

If this starts spreading and/or I have to start using steam to play my GOG games, you've eternally lost a loyal costumer and friend. I'm going to to download my catalogue now before it gets infected.

I hope you read this and self-correct it.

Please, do something about this.

It's standard "cover my ass" user policy from Square over there. GOG games will not be requiring you to install steam.

Ah, thanks for that.
I am still going to back up my library though. Many thanks for the information though.

inc09nito: The only one I don't have and I could be interested in is Urban Chaos. Is it worth playing? Is the AI of NPCs any good? Because I hated that part in GTA San Andreas / Vice City. So I am not sure if I liked this game either...
Anyone can recommend it or encourage me?
I know it's dirt cheap. It's more about: "will I ever be interested to give it a try?"
I haven't played it for a long while (and I played on the Dreamcast version) but I'd say it's tough to recommend the game if you're on the fence. It's clunky to move around, there are horrible difficulty spikes and it can be a tad repetitive. That being said, push past the complaints and it will reward you - the only problem is that this type of game has been done much better by other games that followed in its wake.

I've only bought it because of the memories I have of it on the Dreamcast but without the nostalgic tinge, I just can't see you wanting to play much beyond the opening few levels.

What! no soundtrack for Omikon Nomad Soul. I wanted listen to David Bowie while downloaded the game.
Can someone explain to me why Final Fantasy VII and VIII aren't available here?

My limited April budget was more than sufficient to let me get Startopia.

In that case: why not remove Square from the GOG-catalogue?

Also: I have seen many titles such as Deus EX on a promo a million times... I'd like to see a promo with games hardly seen on a promo before...
