Get Thief, Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Soul Reaver, and more Square Enix classics up to 75% off!

We're all gamers, here at GOG.com, so we know very well that games aren't something you can have. They're something you must have. A commodity, essential to our wellbeing. We take it as our mission to deliver what makes you happy right onto your virtual doorstep. Our weekend [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/square_enix_weekend_promo_040414]Square Enix Supply offers you the chance to get games from some of the most exciting series with up to 75% off discount. Square Enix catalog features some of the most impressive gems in the GOG.com offer. Titles that evoke memories and emotions in thousands and thousands of gamers. The character cast of the Square Enix stable alone is impressive enough to make one's heart race. If GOG.com had a red carpet, celebrities such as Lara Croft, Garret the Master Thief, Agent 47, Kain and Raziel, and JC Denton would arrive to walk it on a limousine marked by Square Enix logo. Let's take a quick look at the featured games, shall we?

Lara Croft is the ever-shining star of the Tomb Raider series. Lately her character has undergone some major changes. Here, we give you a chance to spend some quality time with good--erm--classic Lara. Tomb Raider 1+2+3, Tomb Raider: Last Revelation + Chronicles, and Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness sum up all of the miss Croft's early career, for only $3.99 each!

Yet another hero who is a fan of property re-assignment concept, Garret the Thief has now made a comeback with a new game. The word on the street is that the new title is very nice, but not quite what the long-time fans of the series expected from a Thief game. On GOG.com you can catch up with all of Garret's classic adventures, as long as you can keep up with him, as he silently moves through the shadows. Thief Gold, Thief 2: The Metal Age, and Thief 3: The Deadly Shadows let you experience the life of a thievery archmaster, for only $3.49 each!

Not really in the mood for action and adventure? Startopia takes the classic city-builder genre to the stars and lets you manage a fully simulated alien society of nine distinctive races in which each citizen's mood, needs, and goals can be individually tracked. You'll get some help from VAL--your AI advisor--brilliantly voiced by William Franklyn, the British actor famous for his Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy radio performance. The game is only $1.49 this weekend!

That's only a small taste of the Square Enix titles you can get up to 75% off this weekend. Head out to our Square Enix Supply promo page, to check out the whole offer available until Tuesday, April 8, at 3:59AM GMT. Enjoy your weekend!

HiPhish: Because Square-Enix don't want to. The company is extremely protective of their original Japanese games, what they are selling here are just old leftovers from Eidos.
I'm curious, do you know of any issues that are keeping Dungeon Siege from being brought to GOG? Its not one of their original Japanese games and the Microsoft hurdle is no longer a problem. That game with the Ultima 5 & 6 mods seems like a perfect fit for here.
On this forum, I remember a short back-and-forth I had with JuriJ about Daikatana, and I responded that I may check it out when on sale. Here is me putting my money where my mouth is. Hell, bad games can be fun, too. Right?

Picked up Anachronox and Risen to boot.

CrowTRobo: ...
I have no idea, but I don't know about any of the inner workings anyway. When i said that Square-Enix was protective of their Japanese IPs I was just stating the obvious.

Niteris: Thanks for making that crystal clear to me :), was just curious/paranoid (bit scared of having soft copies).
Hopefully this cheesy slogan will lighten the mood: GOGFGOG - Good Old Games from Good Old Gamers :D

JudasIscariot: Totally understandable and it's nice to actually see people read the EULAs :)
I swear, there's a Dilbert for every situation:

Why isn't "Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 1" here? Is it owned by someone else than Square Enix?

I'm thinking of getting the series but I'm afraid of starting the story in the middle.
Alright, the time has come for me to form an own view about Daikatana. I'm pretty curious. :)

If it's good or even better as I read and heard about it, I will return and buy full-prize copies to gift them to the biggest critics. ^^

I got it today. Not being able to run full screen at full resolution pissed me off but so far it's tolerable.....barely. :P

Always thought was an MS issue myself, having said that, DS 1 & 2 is being sold elsewhere minus the expansions (not sure why this is the case).
Sorry if this sounds like I am whining (I already own retail box versions of all 3 games) but the "Thief Collection" (which includes all 3 games) has been on sale elsewhere for as low as $3.79 for the ENTIRE PACK.

GOG is offering the same thing for $11. I understand that individual game pricing is not really under GOG's control being Pub dependent.

I would add that the earlier offer I refer to was for the Steam versions of the games and therefore not DRM free.

As someone who values GOG greatly for its DRM free offerings and would like a "backup/updated" copy of the Thief games (my retail box versions are very old) please consider offering this as a genuinely discounted "pack/collection" at some point.

It's still a good value at that price point, especially when you throw in not only DRM-free but the GOG support and community.

Rickyk:
Imo, GOG does not just sell you a game: it gives you a service. Does the steam copy work on -almost- every modern machine? Is it DRM-free? Does it come with all the bonus goodies? Does Steam provide you with easy access to a willing and helpful technical support? I think not, so the (not so) higher price is justified.

A question for the goggers: I'm thinking about buying the entire Legacy of Kain series while it's so cheap, but I don't know the games well enough to be sure it is worth it. Could you please share your thoughts on it? I heard they are pretty good, but never had the chance to see them myself...
Re:Legacy of Kain series - Played all 4 games in the series. Great fun. Highly recommended.

If you want player feedback for the games just browse them individually on the GOG store for user feedback/reviews. Tonnes of review links of youtube as well.

It's in licensing hell, actually :(

I think TET mentioned something like this elsewhere on the forum but I can't recall where...
Some really good games here the thief series is really great.

pigdog: Great promo - thanks GOG.

I'm looking for a game (out of those below on offer) that are relatively easy (especially combat). In my old age, I can't be bothered with anything too taxing :) Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

- Any Legacy of Kain
- Omikron
- Urban Chaos
- Daikatana
- Project Eden
- Total Overdose a gunslingers...

Thanks,
I'd highly recommend Total Overdose, I bought it some time ago on a whim (just wanted to try something less story-focused, I guess), and I've been having a blast. Omikron is a great game, my personal favourite of all David Cage's games, but it's far from being relatively easy, like you said you are looking for. I never tried Project Eden or Urban Chaos, so I'll hold my judgement on those. Daikatana... well... you could always check it, it isn't as bad as its reputation makes it out to be, but be advised it isn't good, as well.

As for the Legacy of Kain series, one of my favourite video game series ever made, of the titles available here on GOG I'd probably suggest Defiance, since it's the most light-hearted of them all, has an awesome combat mechanism and manages to deliver the amazing narrative, character development and lore the previous titles are known for. It's not the best title in the series, in my opinion (that would be Soul Reaver), but it's definitely more in line with what you seem to be looking for.

On a side note, it really bugs me that they have to call this "Square-Enix Supply". I can't, for the life of me, associate the Eidos catalog with Square-Enix, both Square and Enix (of which I've always preferred Enix, by the way), to me, are console video game developers/publishers, they have nothing to do with these Eidos "recent classics", aside from the fact they... well, bought Eidos. Well, at least the in-game logos and intro videos still say Eidos, not Square-Enix.

[EDIT] If it's of any help, I created a thread in the Total Overdose sub-forum, in case you want to check it out:
