Get Thief, Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Soul Reaver, and more Square Enix classics up to 75% off!

We're all gamers, here at GOG.com, so we know very well that games aren't something you can have. They're something you must have. A commodity, essential to our wellbeing. We take it as our mission to deliver what makes you happy right onto your virtual doorstep. Our weekend [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/square_enix_weekend_promo_040414]Square Enix Supply offers you the chance to get games from some of the most exciting series with up to 75% off discount. Square Enix catalog features some of the most impressive gems in the GOG.com offer. Titles that evoke memories and emotions in thousands and thousands of gamers. The character cast of the Square Enix stable alone is impressive enough to make one's heart race. If GOG.com had a red carpet, celebrities such as Lara Croft, Garret the Master Thief, Agent 47, Kain and Raziel, and JC Denton would arrive to walk it on a limousine marked by Square Enix logo. Let's take a quick look at the featured games, shall we?

Lara Croft is the ever-shining star of the Tomb Raider series. Lately her character has undergone some major changes. Here, we give you a chance to spend some quality time with good--erm--classic Lara. Tomb Raider 1+2+3, Tomb Raider: Last Revelation + Chronicles, and Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness sum up all of the miss Croft's early career, for only $3.99 each!

Yet another hero who is a fan of property re-assignment concept, Garret the Thief has now made a comeback with a new game. The word on the street is that the new title is very nice, but not quite what the long-time fans of the series expected from a Thief game. On GOG.com you can catch up with all of Garret's classic adventures, as long as you can keep up with him, as he silently moves through the shadows. Thief Gold, Thief 2: The Metal Age, and Thief 3: The Deadly Shadows let you experience the life of a thievery archmaster, for only $3.49 each!

Not really in the mood for action and adventure? Startopia takes the classic city-builder genre to the stars and lets you manage a fully simulated alien society of nine distinctive races in which each citizen's mood, needs, and goals can be individually tracked. You'll get some help from VAL--your AI advisor--brilliantly voiced by William Franklyn, the British actor famous for his Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy radio performance. The game is only $1.49 this weekend!

That's only a small taste of the Square Enix titles you can get up to 75% off this weekend. Head out to our Square Enix Supply promo page, to check out the whole offer available until Tuesday, April 8, at 3:59AM GMT. Enjoy your weekend!

Niteris: The difference is that I trust and like GOG, Sqeenix on the other hand I don't. But I get your point.
The main thing in the EULA that bugs me is the possible inclusion of steam...
avatar
JudasIscariot: We are NOT going to include or require you to use Steam.

We are NOT going to take your games away. If you want proof, ask anyone that has bought a game from us and that game later was removed from sale but not their shelves.
I believe you, I really do.
But I'm just going to paste the part that bugged me

"The terms and conditions of this EULA are without prejudice to any terms and conditions governing your use of any third party proprietary software product including without limitation any STEAM™ software. Such third party proprietary software may be embodied on the media containing this Software Product or otherwise downloaded within the software package containing the Software Product and may be required in order to use certain features of this Software Product, which use may be subject to and conditional upon your acceptance and observance of additional third party end user licence agreements."

Why would might the games require or already have such third party proprietary software (i.e. steam) if it's being sold on GOG.
I'm honestly just confused if nothing else, sorry for taking up everyone's time, I would just like an explanation for it.

Well, I'm going to go forward and make my purchases, I'm putting faith in GOG that they won't take away anything in Square Enix tells them to from us. Sorry for annoying everyone.

It's a standard EULA from Square Enix as I've said before :)

We have been in business for almost 6 years and not a single game of ours uses or has Steam. We are not a Steam subsidiary so we do not use it.

Thanks for making that crystal clear to me :), was just curious/paranoid (bit scared of having soft copies).
Hopefully this cheesy slogan will lighten the mood: GOGFGOG - Good Old Games from Good Old Gamers :D

Totally understandable and it's nice to actually see people read the EULAs :)

I'm just one of the people that prefer to know what they're getting into. I'm just blissful that GOG exists, otherwise it'd be back to the scurvy stricken days of piracy, arrr. I keep referring people to GOG every day lol.

Have a nice day/night JudasIscariot, thanks for all the help :)

ShadowWulfe: Normal should honestly be fine, with saves at every location it's not hard to make sure that the kiddos don't run off into the abyss. Also, the AI isn't as horrible as it was when the game was first released, they're good at jumping around and figuring out where to go.
That sounds good, thanks for the tips.

gandalf.nho: What's the difficulty of Omikron and Project Eden?
avatar
tinyE: Easy to medium IMO.
Project Eden is more puzzle oriented but not in a Myst way. You have a team of 4 distinct characters and as you approach each new dilemma you need to figure out which character works best. Example and MINOR SPOILER!!!: EARLY on you have to get through a 'toxic' room. Well you have 3 humans and a robot....which do you send through the room? It starts like that and gets progressively harder.

Omikron isn't hard but I always thought kind of dull. It looks great and is worth a few bucks for that I suppose.
Thanks for the answer
Ha, back to reasonable deals for us spoiled people, very good! Certainly more enticing than just 50% off. Sadly, I already have all the games I absolutely wanted from this promo but because the price is low I decided to get Project Eden, looks like an interesting game.
Great promo - thanks GOG.

I'm looking for a game (out of those below on offer) that are relatively easy (especially combat). In my old age, I can't be bothered with anything too taxing :) Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

- Any Legacy of Kain
- Omikron
- Urban Chaos
- Daikatana
- Project Eden
- Total Overdose a gunslingers...

Thanks,

pigdog:
Not sure about Legacy of Kain, tried to get into Urban Chaos, but the controls are crazy hard and I didn't feel like figuring them out.

Omikron is a great adventure game if you can survive the fighting segments, they're honestly not that hard.
Daikatana -> not half as bad as people say, especially after all the patching.
Project Eden -> I have Windows 8 so I haven't been able to try it.
Total Overdose-> kinda like GTA, stupid fun, can be frustrating at times but generally a great way to turn off the brain.

Any reasonable cheat codes or mods to help ease the gameplay?

LinustheBold: I picked up the rest of the Kain games and grabbed Gangsters. Still considering a couple of others - Daikatana, just for boasting rights, you know how it is - and I nabbed a copy of Project Eden to give away somewhere down the line. I love that game, and when I did my first GA last month I really really enjoyed it. At this price, I might lay in a few copies for future reference.
avatar
tinyE: You like that game Project Eden? Funny I never would have guessed that. :P Seriously that is one of the true hidden gems on this site and I'm glad to see it getting a little more press.
I know, I hardly ever mention it. Or maybe a little, from time to time.
Why is Pandemonium 2 no longer on sale? I'm certain I saw it on sale before.

It is
I still see it listed as 1.49 here....

You're correct.
Weird...
