Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Hitman, and Thief series and more from Square Enix 60% off.

Here comes the GOG.com [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/square_enix_weekend_promo_28_09_12/]Square Enix Squad! A gallery of characters that shine a bright light in the history of gaming. The beautiful tomb raiding daredevil Lara Croft, the cyborg savior of humanity JC Denton, the king of stealth and thievery Garrett, and the mysterious archmaster of assassination known only as the Agent 47. This amazing ensemble of badasses is here for one reason only: all of their respective games in our catalogue are now discounted by 60% along with many other Square Enix titles until Tuesday, October 2 at 03:59 AM GMT.

Witness the first steps of Lara Croft in Tomb Raider 1+2+3, a bundle that contains the first three games that made her a superstar. Then witness her more obscure, but even more dangerous adventures and witness her younger years in Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation & Chronicles. Finally, follow Lara as she tackles a mysterious cult in Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness. Be sure not to miss all the action-adventure girl-power goodness!

Dare to venture into the dark dystopian future of Deus Ex and become JC Denton, the hardcore cybernetically enhanced peacekeeper that started to doubt his superior's agenda and stood up to the conspiracy. Then decide the fate of his successor, Alex D, the hero of Deus Ex 2: Invisible War. If you are a cyberpunk fan, a RPG aficionado, or if you simply want to try a different and challenging FPS, make yourself acquainted with the Deus Ex series.

Not all of the Square Enix Squad members enjoy the publicity. Some of them prefer to keep a low profile. Especially Garrett, the master-thief who sneaked into the promo through an unlocked skylight. Many gamers consider his adventures to be the pinnacle of stealth games and its first iteration, adequately titled Thief GOLD, an origin of a whole genre. The GOLD edition contains the original Thief: The Dark Project and an update that enhances the game with three new campaign missions and new enemy types. While you lurk around GOG.com treasury with Garret, be sure to also grab your copies of Thief GOLD and Thief 2: The Metal Age and Thief 3: The Deadly Shadows. At $3.99 each, it's really a steal!

Head out to the promo page and check out all 16 of the great Square Enix games you can get 60% off until Tuesday, October 2 at 03:59 AM GMT.

I want to know about this too.
Got Thief 3, Deus Ex 2, and Anachronox. Awesome! Completed two series. :)

LordRikerQ: Is Gog.com missing something? Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2 is Crystal Dynamics/Square Enix, yet is mysteriously missing from the sale..
avatar
kodeen: Probably too new on the service.
Oh well, hopefully for the Holiday sale. Figures the Legacy of Kain game I liked the most wouldn't be in the sale. But then im a weirdo, I think Kain is cooler then that Raziel Thing.
gotta say I'm a little disappointed with Tomb Raider 1+2+3, I tried TR2 and it's unplayable, everything is shaky and twitchy and there are trails all over my screen. I was really looking forward to play this all night but now I find myself sitting like a dumbass staring blankly at the screen not knowing what to do. Don't know what to say Mr GOG, I thought we had something special here...

Too recently released on GOG. I'm sure they don't want the people that bought it "day 1" a couple weeks ago to feel screwed over.

Kain is cooler. That's why I want the first game to be released on gog.com Legacy of Kain was one of my favorite games ever.
Best promo in a while. Finally I have the first two Thief games which I never played before, and Anachronox.
Nice promo, going to grab backup's for Anachronox and Deus Ex. Might pick up Thief 3 too, to give it a try.
Fantastic promo!!! I've been waiting for some titles for ages. Going to have at least 9 of them. Well maybe more..

SimpleUser: Could someone help with a question regarding Thief.

I think I remember my brother playing Theif where you shot water arrows to put out tourches and moss arrows to soften foot steps all stealth type stuff. But then I watch some youtube videso and your in a huant tower with mad man zombies scary place which I really dont like.

I really dislike scary games.

Are they the same game?
Yeah, I'm not sure if all 3 Thief games are considered scary, but I'm pretty sure the first or second gets scarier as the game progresses. (Spiders, too, iirc)

EDIT: Here, check this out: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/thief_series/face_your_fears

the_bard: I can't buy all three because I'm picking up the two games in the other promo. So, Thief Gold it is. Thanks!

mkell_226: Okay, but promise you'll pick up the other two ASAP!

Although, I remember now that Thief 2 has a great total conversion called Shadows of the Metal Age which has a very VERY zombie-heavy level. Still, I think the Haunted Cathedral levels (not to mention the Old Quarter) in TG are a bit better.
Don´t forget to mention the most disturbing series of levels in the Thief 3 - The Shalebridge Cradle. I´ve still got goosebumps remembering playing that one on 3.AM in the morning ;)

Yes. The first game and Deadly Shadows feature a number of levels that take place in haunted houses or a district crawling with undead. Thief 2, however, reduces the horror elements to a minimum (with two exceptions that I can think of), pitting you against human opponents for the most part. If you dislike scary games, Thief 2 might be right for you.
Thanks everyone. But call me a chicken I'll save my money for some other games on my wish list.

The zombies in Thief are no more scary than human guards in the mansions where you are stealing loot. Both can kill you just as easily if they see you. The whole object in Thief is NOT to fight anything. You either sneak up and knock it out, or you avoid it. That's not to say the game doesn't have ways for you to kill stuff if you really want, it's just usually not the best way to achieve your goals. In fact, you can complete both Thief 1 and Thief 2 without causing a single point of damage to anything (except for one mission where you are required to knock someone out as an objective).

So don't consider the game scary because it has zombies. The more accurate question is, do you find it scary sneaking around and trying to avoid being seen or heard by anything?
