Leroux: Help! I'm so tempted by the low prices and all the pretty colors in the screenshots and I still can't bring myself to buy anything! There goes my chance to seriously increase my huge backlog for a couple of bucks - what the hell is wrong with me? ;)

Seriously though, I feel like I already own the titles worth playing from my perspective (Gothic 2, Painkiller, Red Faction, Critter Chronicles, Dark Fall 1 & 2, Silver). I'm somewhat curious about the following, but from what I've read it seems they're really nothing all that special compared to many games in my collection I haven't played through yet. Can anyone come up with a reason why I'm wrong and why I should try one of these nevertheless? Or confirm that I wouldn't miss out on much by skipping them?

I'm interested in:
- Gothic 3
- Spellforce 2 (Shadow Wars)
- The Black Mirror
- Summoner
- Red Faction 2
- Aquanox 1 or 2
Check PM, enjoy :)

Are there any titles you would consider must plays out of these games?

If you like RPG, I can highly recommend Gothic 2. Or Desperados is also fine - commandos like game with wild west theme.

Have you tried the Spellforce 2: Dragon Storm or Demons of the Past games? Are they any good?

Dragon Storm is quite okay, but Demons of the Past is a very short expansion. And let's not forget the fact that you won't understand some stuff if you did not play Faith in Destiny (which is available on Steam only if i recall correct).

Oh that's bad.. also FiD is quite low rated.
Does DotP add a decent conclusion, at least, or it's just better to stop at DS?

Demons of the past offers a satisfactory conclusion and it's definitely a tad bit bigger than Faith in Destiny. Plus it ties all 4 Spellforce 2 games quite nicely.

FiD was a mess. 3 companies worked on it and it shows. Started by the original SF2 devs, continued by the same indian company responsible for Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods (Trine Games), finished by a company (Mind Over Matter Studios) that had some of the original devs (Phenomic was bought and dismantled by our "friendly" EA). Mind Over Matter became Grimlore Games and has Spellforce 3 in production.

DotP was made by Mind Over Matter Studios/Grimlore and having some of the original devs on board, helped.

Thank you for all that info, +1
Do you also know if characters can be imported\exported between expansions? (I read that SPF1 can do it only partially)
I usually like keeping the same chars\party for one big epic adventure.

(by the way, for me addon\upgrade expansions>>standalone)
If i remember correct, only Faith in Destiny did not allow the import of previous characters. Dragon Storm and DotP are allowing a partial import.
