With regards to the recent bulk buy, I wanted to thank once more Grargar, Tallima, Ghorpm, and Bookwyrm627 for the awesome trades in kind. Cheers you fab folks!
Irony here is I'm currently in the middle of playing Red Faction from GOG in wine,

Nothing for me - you own everything: I bought them all in the going away promo. But always good for others to get a chance. But I too say keep them here don't tease.

But as long as were doing a temporarily sale removed games deal . . . how about a 90% off temp sale on Second Sight, Republic: The Revolution and Obscure?

ixbt25i: So, the games that will be pulled from the catalogue again won't be patched or receive updates like additional extras and/or language packs in the future? They're basically a product with crippled service?
avatar
Bookwyrm627: What is being crippled? You'll have the full, normal service that GoG gives all of its games.

Numerous games in the catalog aren't receiving patches or updates anymore. Purchasing with the expectation of getting additional extras or languages (unless such is explicitly part of the sale) seems unreasonable (to me, at least).

If the terms of the purchase aren't worth your money, then keep your money.
I wasn't talking about support, I take that for granted. And I'm not expecting any updates et al., but obviously considering the possibility. Apparently, publishers don't feel commited to games that are no longer present in the catalogue. Selling games just to pull them back immediately after the sale ends is a weird practice to say the least. And yes, that's why I wonder if it's worth the money.

That was awesome, thanks a lot! I've just realized that the scale of this event was truly epic so I would like to thank other participants too. It seems I was the last one to redeem my games and none of them "mysteriously" disappeared so it proves once again that this community is great! Thanks a lot!

It was our pleasure. Thanks for setting it up. Saved me $3.87 if I remember right. Now a huge ton of money, but the goodwill was worth lots more than that. Merry Christmas!

I won't lie*, I was tempted to take them all and just start a new GOG account.

*Yeah, okay. This is a total fabrication.

Be honest. Who else went back and re-read this in Rob Halford's voice?

And a big thanks (once again!) to you for including me! Now excuse me while I go implement another of your suggestions...

shadowrgog: Wonderful, quick response and all. Questioned solved, thanks Andanzas and have a +1 for caring. And also, anyone else who answers my question will get a +1 from me for caring too even though it was answered just because of effort to let me know and all! Thanks again and have a happy promo to those who want to take advantage of this quick in n' out!

Grargar: Andanzas is indeed correct, BUT, don't be surprised if it's removed from your library at the same time it is removed from your catalog and start pointing fingers at him and calling him a liar. That's because, for a long time now, GOG suffers from a glitch that temporarily removes a game from your account when it is removed from the catalog, but it reappears one day later. It has happened quite a few times before, including the previous time the Nordic games were removed.
Thank you for the clarification Grargar. It helps to know the little things about how GOG handles these deals. I know you don't personally know me but should an event like that occur, I wouldn't play the blame game on anyone (too old (relatively speaking) for that childish behavior). I'd simply figure it out with support and through research if such a instance had occurred. Worst comes to worst, I'd simply follow through with their refund policy since that would be something but play the blame game solves nothing. I have had success so far with support and hope such success continues in the long run with different problems that may occur. I understand this is a forum and all I wanted was at least someone who knew what to make of my hypothetical to offer their insight and such response poured at such an astounding response time thanks to Andanzas, vv221, yourself and even indirectly from DoctorGOGgles who helped with clarification. You guys helped me appreciate the forum community even more, thank you! I offered my token of thanks in the form of a +1 to your posts regarding the subject as I stated I would earlier for caring.

Also, I was very curious as to why this thread had so many pages, and it was interesting with the variety of response regarding Nordic's past with this site. Despite my reg date, before I used the forum this past month or so, I never followed any of the inner dealings regarding catalog changes on this site such as Nordic's stance on regional pricing. A lot people seem upset about them going back and forth about their stance with this site and that's understandable for such disheartening activity. Those uncomfortable with their promo shouldn't engage with it since real money is being spent, but those that want to try these games on GOG also have the opportunity to play it. This seems like a very controversial topic to discuss and so I am leaving my thoughts to that and consider the promo more like a groupees deal than anything else (like the meridian4 10th anniversary bundle recently). Like others have mentioned I hope they make these games a more permanent presence on this site in the future for others to enjoy anytime instead of just this weekend.
Friends? I think you misspelled "backstabbers".

Thanks, GOG. My wallet hates me now. *snerk*

Glad this came up though. There were a number of these games that were on my wishlist that I missed during the October going away sale. Ended up being cheaper just to get the whole package than only the titles on the wishlist, so I grabbed it all. =)
