The_Blog: Spellforce in my opinion. But there are both great and you really can't compare them. They are too different.
Of the Spellforce series, are some games better than others? It looks like there are 4 Spellforce games available.
Do i need to buy every Spellforce or can i buy just one (and what is the better one) to understand the story?

Bookwyrm627: Yeah, that "90% off, and a lot of these games would be purchased for less than $1.00!" is really eating at me too, even though I'm only interested in a fraction of the list.
avatar
mobutu: My advice would be to only get the games you are interested in ... the rest of them will probably rot forever on your shelf.
I definitely agree with you, and when I started weeding out things I got the price down to ~$10 (even with the lower discount), but I have that completionist side poking me and going "Look! Less than $1 for all these different titles! Over $300 saved!" and then chanting "Do it, do it, do it, ..."

SpellForce Platinum is the first one, while SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars is the second one. Dragon Storm and Demons of the Past are standalone expansions to the second one. Personally, I would go with Shadow Wars as the best one, but Platinum is also a good deal as it contains the base game and two expansions.

If you are "slow" like myself go with #1 because they get more complicated as they progress,

Miljac: I have to say, I really don't understand people complaining about how they bought games on last sale for more money.

<snip>

Is it somehow accepted opinion that it is our birth right to buy things when they are most afordable?
avatar
graspee: It's because people paid X amount of money for games on the understanding that this would be their last chance to buy them and now the games are mysteriously back for a "one time only" chance to buy them for the last time, again, and they are cheaper this time. (Not sure on the prices personally but this is what people have said).
I am aware of that. And as I said, I was one of those people. That's why I don't understand it, I just can't see this as bad thing.

It's not like it was ploted against us.
I noticed some games that were not removed from the catalog.

Are those games going to be removed after this, or just included because they are from Nordic?

There are 3, at least, that are in the promo because they are Nordic, but they won't be removed afterwards. I'd have to go back through the thread to find the names, though.

Book of Unwritten Tales 1+2 and Raven: Legacy of the Master Thief won't be removed.

Urnoev: This is a difficult decision for me.
I really would like to buy the few games that I don't own yet... this is a huge discount... the games are flat-priced...
It's not about the discount, it's about to support this in and out or not, which makes the decision difficult. I was so happy to see the games back until I discovered the 96 hours limit ..

No, they are not, at least not all of them.
avatar
cdnred: Is the guild gold edition worth getting, or is the latest guild 2 the only one to pickup?
Judas recommended me Guild Gold. After looking at them, it looks like Guild Gold is the better game in the general public's opinion.

I think it would be a wise idea to buy at least one game as a way to show Nordic that we are willing to forgive them from leaving, even if they are coming back just for a while, that could motivate those greedy guys to stay for good.
Very strange indeed...

Oh well, already own all of the Nordic games I'm interested in, but thanks for giving people one last chance to acquire some games they missed before.

I'd still rather see Nordic back on board with GOG, permanently. :(
