Grargar: I will wait and see Nordic's reaction if/when ShinyLoot and GamesRepublic introduce regional currency.
An excellent point. That was the real factor in exposing the price differentials here. So you are likely correct that Nordic is happy to support flat pricing as long as it remains sub rosa.

Vabigoon: What's the matter with the first part of Gothic series? Why it's not discounted at all? It wasn't for a long time.
Because it's not published by Nordic.
I... learned from the Raven and got the game for nothing? I mean, "store credit" is money I've already spent (for buying another game) and so cannot really spend again, isn't it?
Black Mirror 3 would've been nice...

JudasIscariot: Language packs are beyond us and require the agreement of a given publisher. Sorry but we can't just add things as we please, as much as we'd like to :(
wow. that's especially lame. silly publishers.
Anybody knows who owns the publishing rights to Supreme Commander now that Nordic seems to have lost the license since they don't have it listed as published by them anymore. Bummer that they own Planetary Annihilation publishing rights so we can forget that game ever coming here.

ThomNG: Just enjoy this special promotion GOG and we decided to do as a Christmas gift.
...
I would really like to see Black Mirror 3 here on GOG (permanently, of course), and can assure you I'm not the only one. Please relay this message to your king, thank you!

They don't? Are you sure?

I don't think so since that is old data. The rights holder for Supreme Commander now is Wargaming.net since they bought Gas Powered Games in 2013. The same is with Total Annihilation license that is owned by Wargaming.net which was updated on gog recently.

Good thing I didn't attempt to answer this question because I would definitely have been late again, no point in trying when you're around. :)

They hopefully make not the same mistake as GOG.

avatar
Cavalary: And they still are happy to sell them flat price, on SL.
avatar
stg83: It is because Shinyloot doesn't offer local currency options, one of the main reasons for Nordic not selling their games here long term at a flat price.
That's what makes me most angry. Not only that you have to fight with this multi-currency mess on the web page, it also leads to games being regionally priced and even removed from the site. Multi-currency was the most biggest failure GOG made ever.
avatar
Cavalary: And again, you too? :(
avatar
IAmSinistar: Sorry, but in this circumstance I'm a pragmatist. I reserve my idealism for more meaningful causes where the betterment of humanity is at stake. Granted, there is an economic justice aspect to the regional pricing issue, and thus why I take a stand to keep the information available. But I can't dash my keel against the rocks for that when there are far more treacherous waters to navigate.
Yet compared to the big issues, this is an easy one to tackle, so if you admit defeat here, how can you hope to win the bigger battles?

Meh, whatever. Just adding another name to the naughty list regarding this. Wonder if there's anyone else left on the hardline side that made the fuss back in February...

That's assuming that Gas Powered Games really owns Supreme Commander, which I doubt it. Supreme Commander 1 is still published by Nordic, while 2 is still published by Square-Enix. I doubt that Nordic would go the extra mile of adding Steamworks multiplayer for a game of theirs that they would lose so fast.

Supreme Commander Retail Disc published by Nordic in the previous year.

Why no Darksiders?
They are Nordic's already, are they not?
I thankfully do not have a moral dilemma to face this weekend as I have all Nordic games I want and I'm too broke to buy any games these days anyway.
