[url=http://www.gog.com/promo/nordic_games_weekend_promo_30_11_12]Nordic Games promo arrives with a bang to GOG.com! Or, as a matter of fact, a whole bunch of bangs. Hardcore, old-school FPS, bang! With so many bangs combined, we might just have started a new universe. Yes! A whole universe of fun. Let's explore it!

Painkiller: Black Edition is everything you love about old-school first person perspective shooters delivered in a good-looking, demonic package. With a vast realm to explore and conquer, a huge collection of story-driven scenarios, and many memorable character, this series is something that every strategy and RPG fan should try at least once. Each and every game in the series is available for only $3.99!

The Book of Unwritten Tales is an adventure game that spoofs all the popular fantasy tropes and cliches. It's full of wit and charm worthy of a Terry Pratchett novel. On top of that it manages to be much more than just a parody, as it deliver a brilliant story and a cast of likable characters on its own. You can get it now for $13.39, as it's discounted by 33%, unlike all the other games featured in the promo that come 60% off.

Now, we'll let you continue exploring on your own. There's plenty of games to choose from on the Nordic Games promo page, so make haste, dear gamer--there's so much to see. The promo ends on Tuesday, December 4, at 4:59AM GMT.

bensinkula: I'm only gonna buy one game, but should I get Gothic 2, Gothic 3, Spellforce Platinum, The Guild, or The Nations??? Help me choose please!
avatar
adamzs: I haven't played all of those but Gothic 2 is a great RPG and Gothic 3 is solid too. If you've played Gothic 1 before, go ahead and get Gothic 2 next. Otherwise I'd suggest playing Gothic 1 first (which I know is not on sale right now).
Okay. In that case, I can hold off on buying any games for now...but I shall try Gothic 1 if I can get it for cheaps some time! Thanks.

ChilledKroete: *sigh* look, I'd gladly go for the Book of Unwritten Tales, Gothic 3 and more, but English only for games that are originally German?
Once again: thanks, but no thanks.

I might finally go for Painkiller, but to tell you the truth, this English only business is getting increasingly frustrating for me (and you know I'm not the only one), so now I'm not even sure about that - mind you this isn't about Painkiller being English only (despite having been developed by a Polish dev) given that its setting appears to be U.S. based anyways, plus it's not exactly heavily reliant on dialogue... unlike adventures and rpgs -_-

Fesin: Especially since Nordic Games themselves claimed they have given GOG.com a multi-language version for some of their games.
I would really like to know what happened there. Is GOG.com just too lazy to add additional languages? Do they refuse it on principal, or out of spite? Or is Nordic Games lying?
But we've never gotten any sort of comment on the language issue from GOG.com.
I just talked to Coala; we don't currently have any foreign language packs that we have not released. We're following up with Nordic, and rest assured that any language packs that we get will be added to the games for free.

GOG.com: Submarine freelance action, bang!

Phaidox: Speaking of submarines...
Dear GOG overlords, do you acknowledge the existence of these two gems?
Archimedean Dynasty
Sub Culture
More subsims on GOG would be awesome.

First, it's good to here something about this topic from you guys.
But now I am even more confused, because Nordic Games told me that they gave you multi-anguage masters for several of their games.

And the CEO from Piranha Bytes, Michael Rüve, also told me he gave you permission for the German version of Gothic 1 roughly 6 weeks ago.

This is entirely too much controversy for me handle while on the throne at work atm. gtg

I dunno? I just report what Product tells me. Rest assured, if we've got more games that we can add languages to, we will. It's not that we don't want your money. :P

I would think so. We want to give you our money. ;)
But I can also only tell you what other company representatives tell me.

JudasIscariot: Mwahahahahaha!
You may laugh now, but I will have my revenge! By buying more games... next week...

I think the same as you...but I only buy games in my language, so I will save some money this week ^^. If games offers were every week in my language....it would be too bad for my credit card lol.

TheEnigmaticT: Here's your prize.
Are you sure you didn't mean "sign" instead of "prize"?

And what about TLC's Operation Neptune? Wait, it's edutainment! :( http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mc2ihv5yV71qevqc5.gif
I just bought Aquanox 1 & 2 earlier this week but im not mad the games are cheap enough already
Gothic Series
Dark Fall series
and
Painkiller?

Time to break out the credit card.
Pity, the only game I want from this promo is the Book of Unwritten Tales which is only 33% off. I lost my chance during the GOG gem promo because something came up... then again, by the time I get to play it it'll have been on a 60% sale at least once or twice more :)

Archimedean Dynasty
Sub Culture
I never heard about the other but Sub Culture is definitely a must-have.
And because of that, here's the community wishlist for it: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/sub_culture. Vote for it people, it's well worth it.
