Hostile Waters, Guilty Gear series, Realms of the Haunting, and more Blue Moon Red Owl games 60% off.

If you live in an area with excessive winter snowfalls, it will be fairly easy for you to understand the theme of our weekend promo. White trees, white sidewalks, white roofs, white yards, white up, white down, white everywhere. Or brownish-gray, if you live in a big city. There's not much variety in winter. It's quite easy to get bored, even if every single snowflake is unique and beautiful to behold. In this mid-winter time of uniformity, one could surely use some eye-catching diversity. Our [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/blue_moon_red_owl_weekend_promo_180113]Mid-winter Variety offers just that, with a nice 60% discount rate. Let's see what can help us forget about the snow, shall we?

Let's start by melting a bit of ice with some super-hot, ultra-energetic fighting. Guilty Gear Isuka and Guilty Gear X2 Reloaded, a duplex of crazy fast-paced 2D beat-em-ups, will turn make the snow around you evaporate before you can say: "Robo-Ky Mk II". With many odd and awesome characters, each with a unique set of moves, both games should easily warm up the hearts of 2D fighting fans.

Realms of the Haunting will make you sweat with the macabre, the mystery and the metaphysical. Face many demons of the mysterious mansion standing on the threshold of an interdimensional rift and escape the flames of hell itself (even if it sounds like a nice change from all the snow) in this FPP horror adventure.

Oh, and by the way--did you know that salty water freezes in much lower temperatures than regular water? Well, it does, and that gives you yet another chance to avoid the ice. In Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising, a unique combo of a real time strategy and a fast-paced action game, you will spend most of your time on a boat, at a satisfying distance from the snow-covered shore.

That's just a few of the titles we've prepared for you in our Mid-winter Variety promo, so make sure you visit the actual promo page, and see what else could keep you occupied while you wait for the spring.

Below, you'll find this year's second episode of This Week on GOG, a short video guide to recent events, promos, and other happenings on the site. By the way, if you haven't already, you might want to follow the GOG.com channel on Youtube, so you won't miss our shows, specials, and exclusive trailers.

Have a nice weekend!

I'll recommend Hostile Waters for anyone who doesn't have it.

Robbeasy: Why do you do this to me GOG?

I've got three of those games wishlisted, but don't get paid 'till the 27th - skint just now as January is a terrible month

* shakes fist at screen *

JMich: Slipstream 5000, Guilty Gear X2 and what is the third one?
Soulbringer - how did you guess those?!

Also - I would also recommend Hostile Waters for those that don't have it - very underrated game.

Fantastic: Not a bad promo, but I'm not really interested in these titles (except the ones that I already have, Slipstream 5000 and Soulbringer).

However, I think there's a small mistake in the news:

Fantastic: Maybe I remember wrong, but wasn't this the first "This week on GOG" episode of this year?
How does Slipstream play? It looks fun but it also looks like it may not have aged so gracefully.
Tempted to pick up Guilty Gear X2 Reloaded and Hostile Waters. Every time I get something off my wish list and into my backlog GOG releases something else that goes into the queue.

When in doubt, find an LP. Apparently it was released with 3D glasses.

Sorry, I can't snip my quotes today, forgive the mess, anyway...
As in old fashioned blue/red 3D? I've already got a set I use for Trackmania Nations. I may have to look into this further.

Honestly, I didn't play much with that game, because I had some trouble with the control.
It a good game, though. I don't think it aged wrong, as I really enjoyed that game. It's an interesting idea that you'll have to move your vehicle in 3d (you must move it on the Y-axis, too). My only problem with this game is the control of the vehicles, it was a bit hard to control them both vertically and horizontally at the same time. But this problem might be from the fact I didn't practice much, so maybe it can be easier later.
All in all, I think this game worth the price.

I know what you mean. Hostile waters is a new temptation now. I'm not sure about it really but it looks kind of cool.

Meantime, I had Realms of the Haunting and Soulbringer on my wish list but not for long now! Quite a week this has been! I held off buying the Avernum games and then I held off buying Leisure Suit Larry, thinking well I guess I'll see what is on weekend sale and do one purchase of everything.

It's amazing really how GOG just keeps coming up with good stuff, great stuff, wonderful, wonderful old stuff! And to think at one point I was worrying about good old games here. I guess those worries were unfounded. Yay!

Someone tell me please, must I buy Hostile Waters and in some detail if you would, why? Thanks!
I juest realized there are demos for a lot of these. I don't need selling on Waters or Rhealms but I'm downloading a Slipstream demo right now. Seriously though, GoG puts out nice sales all the time, but I don't remember a group that had THIS MANY classics in it. Of course I've only been here 2 months.

I answered my own question about Hostile Waters by reading this glowing Gamespot review here:

http://www.gamespot.com/hostile-waters-antaeus-rising/reviews/hostile-waters-antaeus-rising-review-2776518/?page=1

If you are wondering about the game, check this review out for a lot of detail about what it is like, how it plays, etc.

Without question, this is a must buy now for me. Wow. I'd heard of this game in the past but don't recall paying any attention to it. Around thirty hours of high quality entertainment for a little over two bucks. Wow.

Man I love this place. Thanks GOG!
Pretty much had everything I wanted from this promo, but decided to pick up Realms anyway, after reading the reviews and comments here. Not usually a horror movie game player, but this one does looks intriguing
