Waxworks, Downfall, Secret Agent, Chaos Overlords, and many other classics up to 70% off!

Hear ye, hear ye! In case you missed it, spring has arrived and with it comes our [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/spring_weekend_promo_160514]May Myriad of Games!! This weekend we are offering a cornucopia of classic titles, ranging from horror in a living wax museum, a cyberpunk dystopia with turn-based gang warfare to a post-apocalyptic point-and-click adventure where Man is a mostly a myth. The temperatures are high (unless you are in rainy Europe) but the prices are low! Let's take a look at the classics we've got lined up for you!

and [url=http://www.gog.com/game/the_cat_lady]The Cat Lady. Usually, when we write about these kind of promos, we mention one game at a time in these blurbs but these two games should be played together, starting with and then [url=http://www.gog.com/game/the_cat_lady]The Cat Lady. In Downfall, you, as Joe Davis, will explore a hotel that isn't quite what it seems and you'll encounter many twists and tuns that may warp your psyche just a tad. In The Cat Lady, set in the same universe as Downfall, you'll take on the role of Susan Ashworth as you come to grips with the reality of depression and battle against five Parasites, ruthless psychopaths that wear human forms. If you're a fan of Remigiusz Michalski's psychological horror, you can't pass these stylish adventures by!

Before he was known as the greatest ladies man to grace the Earth, Duke Nukem had his humble beginnings in Duke Nukem 1 +2. With classic side-scrolling platforming action, you'll go through Duke's first forays into video gaming fame. Battle against the fantastically evil Dr. Proton, get kidnapped and fight back against zombifying aliens, and see why Duke wrote a book called "Why I'm So Great".

It wouldn't be spring without a bit of chaos! If you're looking for a classic cyberpunk turn-based strategy game, you can't go wrong with Chaos Overlords. You'll wage war against rival overlords sending out your gangs against theirs in a tense war of influence over a vulnerable city.

Each game's a classic in our May Myriad of Games! Grab a wide variety of games for up to 70% off until Tuesday, May 20th 3:59 AM GMT. Spring is in the air!

zeffyr: With soundtrack? Avatars? Artworks? Wallpapers?

I don't think so. GOG versions FTW! :)
No, without this stuff BUT with Linux port. Since i'm switched to Ubuntu almost completely - its quite important for me.
P.S. Yeah, yeah i know about GOG's linux plans. But lets see how they implement it first.

Briareos262: I'm still a bit confused. I don't use paypal on gog.

I just wanted to know if there letting those that got the game free to keep it is all.
Usually in such cases GOG just leaves games people's snatched in their arms. Maybe that damage them financially a little, but instead they get significant +++ to reputation.

zaine-h: Two questions: In terms of the pinball games here, would you recommend Balls of Steel? Also, Ittle Dew seems to have mixed reviews but it still has 4 stars. Would any of you recommend it at the discount price?
See my post directly above yours for my opinion of the various pinball games. As for Ittle Dew, it depends what you're looking for. I've seen it compared to Zelda, Binding of Isaac, etc. and I don't really agree. I found it to have a much greater focus on puzzles and less on combat and exploration. I admit I didn't get too far into it but I wasn't really enjoying it. I got it in one of those $2 Pot-o-Gold promos a while back. I don't feel it was even worth that, but I'm not a big fan of puzzle games.

Ty for the response. I gave them some money to make up for it in what few games I didn't have from this promo. ^_^ And I always mention gog to anyone that is a gamer at my job =)

For $2 its probably worth a shot for Balls of Steel. While I do enjoy puzzle games, I'll probably still wait on Ittle Dew. Thanks for the reply.

I just read this review for Inherit the Earth.

Quote Cnaltman62:

. . .
Years later though, I learned that it was originally going to be a very different game, with a dark and complex plot focused on interracial politics and racism. And then the publisher found out that the hero was a talking fox and decided that therefore the game must be for kids. Thus the whole game was rewritten. Again, that's not to say that what we got was bad--far from it--just that it could have been something a lot more interesting.
Such a pity, it would have been really interesting (imo) to see that original version of it judging by the quality of the current one.

The game still looks very well crafted. -_^

Alas, it seems I've reached the point of library saturation that results in me no longer making strange monkey noises as I grab for my card whenever a sale pops up.

GOG, Humble Store/Bundle, Games Republic, GamersGate, Steam. All the sales end up with a list of games I already own.

I still haven't decided if that's a good or a bad thing. I'm not buying so many games now, but on the other hand there aren't many new titles entering my library either.

Well, I still make strange noises for Humble Store sales, but they're usually more of a growling that sounds like a constant stream of curses against Ubisoft and UPlay.

If only Ubisoft would get off the UPlay trip and EA would drop Origin I could add a few new titles. The new Dragon Age, Might and Magic X, Heroes VI, Child of Light, ANNO 2070, and Watch_Dogs. I'd love to play those, but even for free access to their entire library I wouldn't install those clients on my PC.

Okay, forget EA, only one game that I want to play from them. The Ubisoft list could go on and on though.

Do devs still get the money? Perhaps so if GOG eats the loss. Or maybe they split the loss with devs? Not sure I guess. I'd personally do the right thing, since it's only 2 bucks, but to each their own.
Added Feeble Files to my backlog of one Trillion adventure games...another one of those many games that I can now upgrade from "only played the demo" to finally getting the full version!
Balls of Steel..mmmmmmm
Just picked up Secret Agent, it's a DOS game so it must be good *nostalgialogic*
GOG, GOG, GOG.
I was waiting for a neat promo full of strategy titles and shining new indie titles, so I could avoid spending some more, considering I bought more than 15 games on the Insomnia Promo.
What do I get?
Old action titles, especially platforms. Ewwww.

I'll surely buy:
Balls of Steel - Pinballs = win.
Hocus Pocus - One of my favourite Apogee platforms, and I'll have the soundtrack, too! =3
Terminal Velocity - I remember lot of fun with this one-
Secret Agent - Another Apogee yay piece!
Realms of Chaos - I INCREDIBLY never played it, so I must.
Tme Gentlemen, Please! etc - I've heard so good of them.

I'll probably stop here, DN1+2 is tempting, but the above titles add up to 10 dollars, and it's a fine amount to stop at.

Already got pretty much everything I'm interested in, except Ishar - rather on the fence about it, especially after splurging so much during the Insomnia sale. Looks interesting, though. *stares mournfully at her backlog*

I'll go through a few reviews before I make up my mind. Apart from that, I'm glad to see that my wallet is safe this weekend. :)

I took a chance on the Ishar Compilation, it has a decent art style and for some reason I find the possibility of party members just up and leaving (or not leaving if they don't want to) hilarious.
I can't seem to selct any of the games for purchase right now on either of my iOS devices. Maybe GOG doesn't want anymore of my money?
