Stronghold HD, Evil Genius, Sniper Elite: Berlin 1945, and 17 other great classics for as little as $1.79!

There's an old Polish proverb comparing March to a cooking pot full of boiling brew. You never know what's inside exactly and what comes up when. It relates--of course--to Central European unstable weather in the early spring, but why shouldn't we apply the same to our weekend promo? Let's mix stuff up a little with our March Gaming Medley. So, what's in the pot? A rich base of strategic classics, a solid serving of Sci-Fi, and some explosive action to make it irresistibly spicy. Whether you're looking for a quick snack, or a full sit-down three-course meal, we've got you covered with our 70% off discount offer. Here's what's on the menu!

Stronghold HD (only $1.79!) and Stronghold Crusader HD (only $2.99) are the High Definition editions of these two "castle sim" classics. Adjusted to modern displays they allow for much better control of the playfield and deliver awe-inspiring view of life-like medieval landscape. With great range of things the player needs to take care of--including establishing a sustainable economy, erecting a keep and defending it from enemy raids, and finally conquering neighbouring estates--both games present a worthwhile challenge to strategy fans.

For strategy fans who appreciate humor, we've got Evil Genius, a real-time mad scientist lair management sim in which you terrorize the world with your inventions. This fantastic title delivers some of the greatest comedic moments you'll ever experience in a game. The characters, the setting, and all of the facilities and gadgets make it the best Bond villain simulator in existence! This weekend, you can start expanding your empire of evil for only $2.99.

Or maybe strategy isn't your thing and you prefer to get right into the middle of action? That can be arranged. Sniper Elite: Berlin 1945 will drop you off in the middle of the ruined German capital in the final days of World War II. You'll take part in some of the events that ended the greatest war in human history and strike against the remnants of the Nazi forces with surgical precision. Just remember, move slowly, calculate each step with care, and stay low, as you're not the only elite sniper left in Berlin! All that suspense and excitement for only $2.99.

All four games featured above will work both on Windows and Mac OS X PCs.That's just a small taste of what our March Gaming Medley holds in store for you. Be sure to visit March Gaming Medley to see the entire selection of games available 70% off until Tuesday, March 11, at 4:59AM GMT.

Are you following GOG.com on Tumblr, yet? Your enigmatic hint for our upcoming classic release is waiting for you there, in The Week on GOG #5. That's it from us today, have an excellent weekend :-)

tinyE: If you like RTS with a touch of Settlers thrown in for flavor you can go wrong my friend. I'm biased because I worship this series.

Niggles: Which one is better?. Stronghold v Stronghold Crusader?
Interestingly enough I picked up Crusader years ago on disc and didn't like it. Last year someone here told me to pick up Stronghold and give it a try. I did, I loved it, then I went back reinstalled Crusader and loved that. They really aren't that different but for setting (Crusader takes place in the holy land so more desert). The thing is I prefer a campaign and not skirmish and they both seem oriented to skirmish but if you look you will find great campaigns in both of them.

Confused now? :P
Bloodrayne, at last you fall into my arms again! :p

Thx for the promo GOG! <3

Maighstir: No they're not. Both the Stronghold and Stronghold Crusader packs are called HD since the HD's release, but both also includes the respective classic editions.

Bonus content included for FREE with purchase: [...] Classic Stronghold (Windows) Classic Stronghold (Mac)
Yes, that sounds more like what I bought. My bad, I guess I mistook something and thought it had changed sometime wihtout me noticing.

Niggles: Any opinions on Stronghold HD v Stronghold Crusader HD?
For Stronghold newbies I definitely recommend Stronghold over Crusader since the latter pretty much expects you to already know how to play the game; the second game tutorial is pretty laughable. Also, the campaign is much better and more entertaining in the original. That said, I love Crusader just as much, and I definitely like some of the tweaks and additions that had been done, but, as said, for newcomers it can be a bit brutal.

tburger: hmmm....
Sword of the Samurai...to encourage Tommo for releasing more old Microprose & Humungous Ent. games

or

Evil Genius & Stronghold Crusader...

decisions...decisions
You know my feelings on that, but honestly whatever you would enjoy more. ;)
Good, now its one less game on my list (Rogue Trooper).
Excellent weekend promo! Great strategy games for the strategy lovers, great action games for the action lovers, all around great games for everyone!
Very nice, I can get both 2000AD titles off my wishlist. I think I will indulge in some Stronghold at last as well, and may even throw in the first Empire Earth.

To me this promo has some titles that I've not seen on sale often, so it is a welcome one.

EDIT:

Judge Dredd: Dredd vs Death
Rogue Trooper
Lords of the Realm: Royal Edition
Empire Earth: Gold Edition
Stronghold HD

For a little over $10. That buy was pretty dang sweet.

I'm seriously considering buying Advent Rising mostly because i read Orson Scott Card created the story. Has anyone played the game before or can recommend it?
Don't buy BloodRayne 2.
I like how the sale is supposedly themed around being a random selection of games for different tastes. Then you notice that most of the games on sale are published by Rebellion. Methinks it's not so random after all. ;D

But hey, two more gaemz added to the backlog.

Moonbase Commander never got the attention it deserved. I bought it here over a year ago (and in the box when it first came out) and it's still one of my favorite turn-based strategy games.

Vorax: Don't buy BloodRayne 2.
HEY! Not so fast. :D

Yes the camera is screwed up but it looks great and she's hot and it's bloody as hell. If you thought TR Angel of Darkness was passable and even kind of enjoyed it then get BR 2. It's not nearly as clunky as that and the camera is about the same in terms of annoying.
