Stronghold HD, Evil Genius, Sniper Elite: Berlin 1945, and 17 other great classics for as little as $1.79!

There's an old Polish proverb comparing March to a cooking pot full of boiling brew. You never know what's inside exactly and what comes up when. It relates--of course--to Central European unstable weather in the early spring, but why shouldn't we apply the same to our weekend promo? Let's mix stuff up a little with our March Gaming Medley. So, what's in the pot? A rich base of strategic classics, a solid serving of Sci-Fi, and some explosive action to make it irresistibly spicy. Whether you're looking for a quick snack, or a full sit-down three-course meal, we've got you covered with our 70% off discount offer. Here's what's on the menu!

Stronghold HD (only $1.79!) and Stronghold Crusader HD (only $2.99) are the High Definition editions of these two "castle sim" classics. Adjusted to modern displays they allow for much better control of the playfield and deliver awe-inspiring view of life-like medieval landscape. With great range of things the player needs to take care of--including establishing a sustainable economy, erecting a keep and defending it from enemy raids, and finally conquering neighbouring estates--both games present a worthwhile challenge to strategy fans.

For strategy fans who appreciate humor, we've got Evil Genius, a real-time mad scientist lair management sim in which you terrorize the world with your inventions. This fantastic title delivers some of the greatest comedic moments you'll ever experience in a game. The characters, the setting, and all of the facilities and gadgets make it the best Bond villain simulator in existence! This weekend, you can start expanding your empire of evil for only $2.99.

Or maybe strategy isn't your thing and you prefer to get right into the middle of action? That can be arranged. Sniper Elite: Berlin 1945 will drop you off in the middle of the ruined German capital in the final days of World War II. You'll take part in some of the events that ended the greatest war in human history and strike against the remnants of the Nazi forces with surgical precision. Just remember, move slowly, calculate each step with care, and stay low, as you're not the only elite sniper left in Berlin! All that suspense and excitement for only $2.99.

All four games featured above will work both on Windows and Mac OS X PCs.That's just a small taste of what our March Gaming Medley holds in store for you. Be sure to visit March Gaming Medley to see the entire selection of games available 70% off until Tuesday, March 11, at 4:59AM GMT.

Are you following GOG.com on Tumblr, yet? Your enigmatic hint for our upcoming classic release is waiting for you there, in The Week on GOG #5. That's it from us today, have an excellent weekend :-)
I must be easily amused because I'm loving Dredd. Wish I could get the resolution a little higher. Maybe I should check for a patch.
Great promo! But also a bit painful on the wallet!

Picked up the two Ground Controls, the two Strongholds, Judge Dredd, mistakenly picked Empire Earth GE and didn't pick up Evil Genius as intented...Doh! Serves me right for not paying attention, but at least I have Harvester! EE looks good, so I'll keep.

I see Judge Dredd is on sale in this. Does this mean we're about to lose that game too?

Why you think so?

We've been losing a lot of games here lately, and these days whenever a digital game goes on sale (Like the Marvel vs. Capcom series) or is given away for free (the Fallout series) it usually tends to mean that game is on it's way out, and the Judge Dredd game is based on the comics and movie license and has been on gog for quite a while.

Whens the last time a game we were about to lose went on sale? ( FO series being the only one i can think of) -- the games that usually went cause of change of ownership etc ended up going without anything more than a forum announcement ie the Guilty Gear ones

If that was the case, GOG's catalog would be shrinking at a pretty rapid rate, considering that 20 games are on sale right now...

There's no reason to worry about Judge Dredd, though. Or Rogue Trooper, for that matter, since that one's also based on a 2000AD comic. It's just a regular sale.
Currently, there is absolutely no way that a similar situation like the licensing issue with "XIII" can occur with these games, because Rebellion, the studio behind those games, actually owns 2000 AD. They bought it, fittingly enough, in the year 2000. There's also no connection between the Judge Dredd game and the movie.
Sorry for Offtopic but I have to say that I really liked the SNES Jugde Dredd game when I was a teenager - and play sometimes nowadays, it's still fun! ^^

If you like that, I'd recommend checking out the SNES / Megadrive game based on Demolition Man. While I always thought that the Judge Dredd one was merely an alright title, this one genuinely surprised me by being a really awesome and fast paced action game.

P1na: Is this my chance to discover how bad Empire Earth 3 is?
Hmm I was kind of thinking the same thing, or should I just mentally allocate that money to another game later.
Looks like I'll be picking up Rogue Trooper and also finally add Judge Dredd to my library. :)

Hillsy_: GOG, can we have an option to display only say 20 or 40 titles on the shelf, as currently it is showing 260 titles and is well...killing my dual core desktop PC.
I was about to say I have never noticed that problem, 560+ tittles with duel core cpu, but just realised I don't use the shelf, I just have the list. Depending on what I'm downloading it can take a minute or so load up all the small images beside the games and show the update status. Just then looking at the CPU utilisation it is 2% on firefox when doing that.

Just changed to the shelf mode and firefox was between 40-50% of the CPU usage while doing that. I'd suggest trying just the list view, though I'll have to test that again as I tried it again but firefox seems to be using a lot of CPU cycles for no apparent reason as the list was already kind of cached, so I'm not 100% sure now.
Well, I (finally) got

Evil Genius
BloodRayne
BloodRayne 2
Ground Control (previously had the free version)
Ground Control 2

JMich: Nah, when you have bought too many games, you don't fear the weekends. You know you'll be seeing "Nice, you own all games from this promo" instead.

Enebias: Well, that's a way to see it! lol
True! Two different stages of viewpoints. :D
