Stronghold HD, Evil Genius, Sniper Elite: Berlin 1945, and 17 other great classics for as little as $1.79!

There's an old Polish proverb comparing March to a cooking pot full of boiling brew. You never know what's inside exactly and what comes up when. It relates--of course--to Central European unstable weather in the early spring, but why shouldn't we apply the same to our weekend promo? Let's mix stuff up a little with our March Gaming Medley. So, what's in the pot? A rich base of strategic classics, a solid serving of Sci-Fi, and some explosive action to make it irresistibly spicy. Whether you're looking for a quick snack, or a full sit-down three-course meal, we've got you covered with our 70% off discount offer. Here's what's on the menu!

Stronghold HD (only $1.79!) and Stronghold Crusader HD (only $2.99) are the High Definition editions of these two "castle sim" classics. Adjusted to modern displays they allow for much better control of the playfield and deliver awe-inspiring view of life-like medieval landscape. With great range of things the player needs to take care of--including establishing a sustainable economy, erecting a keep and defending it from enemy raids, and finally conquering neighbouring estates--both games present a worthwhile challenge to strategy fans.

For strategy fans who appreciate humor, we've got Evil Genius, a real-time mad scientist lair management sim in which you terrorize the world with your inventions. This fantastic title delivers some of the greatest comedic moments you'll ever experience in a game. The characters, the setting, and all of the facilities and gadgets make it the best Bond villain simulator in existence! This weekend, you can start expanding your empire of evil for only $2.99.

Or maybe strategy isn't your thing and you prefer to get right into the middle of action? That can be arranged. Sniper Elite: Berlin 1945 will drop you off in the middle of the ruined German capital in the final days of World War II. You'll take part in some of the events that ended the greatest war in human history and strike against the remnants of the Nazi forces with surgical precision. Just remember, move slowly, calculate each step with care, and stay low, as you're not the only elite sniper left in Berlin! All that suspense and excitement for only $2.99.

All four games featured above will work both on Windows and Mac OS X PCs.That's just a small taste of what our March Gaming Medley holds in store for you. Be sure to visit March Gaming Medley to see the entire selection of games available 70% off until Tuesday, March 11, at 4:59AM GMT.

Are you following GOG.com on Tumblr, yet? Your enigmatic hint for our upcoming classic release is waiting for you there, in The Week on GOG #5. That's it from us today, have an excellent weekend :-)
I don't know if I should curse you or thank you, GOG. I've got too many games and don't need anymore...but two of the games in this list were on my wishlist, and after looking at the rest of the list I added two to that...so yeah, I'm now the proud owner of four more games I don't need.

Thanks, GOG. I guess. Haha. :)

011284mm: I am doing the opposite. I am trying to buy, win or beg every last game on my wishlist before GOG move to selling games at a regional price but with the dollar charge, I am planning for the worse case thay GOG could produce (hell, even they know they will do it like that for months).
ForgetDeny is just protesting for protestings sake, rather then actually preparing for the worse case scenario.

ForgetDeny: I am not protesting for protest's sake. I am protesting because it is the only way that we even might see a return to customer respect. Consumer apathy is disturbing, but what's more disturbing is seeing the number of masochists who seem to like being slapped.
I have no problem with your gripe and I'm not trying to start anything here but I think the term "customer respect" is a little harsh. Granted everything is relative but GOG could be doing a lot of things that make this seem minor in terms of 'no customer respect'. I should point out that I'm also thinking beyond this site and about service in general and if that's unfair to the conversation then I apologize. All I know is I once had a salesman tell me to "fuck off". I'll take regional pricing over that any day! :D
I just accidentally bought Pharaoh instead of Children of the Nile.
Should I be sad or glad?
Does GOG give refunds for dumb mistakes? (duh)
(added it to my cart after picking 4 from the sale)

Glad, and yes assuming you haven't downloaded anything Pharaoh related yet.

deathmyrk: Also I am debating on Lords of Magic: Special Edition. Is that a good game as well?
I've always liked it, retail copy. Similar to Age of Wonders, but combat is RTWP. Hell, I've spent hours just reading the manual.

I remember Pharaoh being really good. After all, it's basically just "Zeus", which is an excellent game, but with an Egyptian coat of paint.

If you really want to return it, you should ask GOG's support. I remember there being a policy that enabled you to get a refund for a game, as long as it's within 14 days of purchase and you have not downloaded it.

Thanks all. :)

Thanks. I actually got Age of Wonders from Insomnia sale and haven't gotten very far, despite how excellent the presentation is. Lord of Magic does look real tempting.
Ground Control II is very recommendable to everyone who likes a pretty good sci-fi story. Really good graphics - even today - and great music/sound art combined in a RTS which is different as the others.
Different in style, aesthetics and gameplay. For example, you have no base-building, you have a dropship to bring reinforcements to landing zones which you have to hold. A much more realistic battlefield feeling imo.
The Dropship can get upgrades (quicker back, longer stand-by in battlefield to give air support, more cargo hold etc.) and looks, by the way, a bit like the one in the movie "Aliens". Your troops gain experience and advance their skills and ranks. And the Snipers are really cool. And the artillery tanks!
This is a great no a GREAT but sadly much too underrated game. Try out, it won't disappoint you.
And much less for 1,79$! ;)

Does Gc 1 still have the no save during mission thing?

I don't know, I've never played the first part.

I curse and thank GOG on a regular basis. I think this is normal behavior here.

EDIT: Forgot **Checking list**

You know... been looking this over, and I apparently wish-listed Rogue Trooper but now I have no idea why... I am generally not a fan of FPS shooters, so I am at a loss. Wonder what I was thinking?

However, I can say what I am thinking now: That it might be a good time to give in and to the purchase impulse and snatch that red-headed vamp for myself, buggy though her games may be.

Also, Advent Rising was one of the earliest games I wish-listed all those years ago, and I still have yet to get around to playing it. I remember it was panned at the time it came out, but would be interested in hearing the opinions of my fellow GOG-ers on this one.

.
.
.

Awww - sod it! I just broke down and bought the three of them. Who knew making a purchase here would bring about an "aaaahhhhh" feeling?

Yep - time to get again with the GOG Anonymous group again - the addiction is in full force now.

EDIT: "Three" being the two Bloodrayne games and Advent Rising. :-) Just could not convince myself to get Rouge Trooper just yet.

Seriously thinking of getting Rogue Trooper (theres a dearth of actual good quality FPSs on here isnt there?)

If you have not downloaded it yet, contact support and tell them you made a mistaken purchase. They may likely issue you a refund if they can tell it has not been downloaded yet.
Picked up Evil Genius and Ground Control 2. One of these days I'll get back to finishing Sniper Elite; I had a blast with it, but got distracted with AoW Shadow Magic, and then Etherlords, and then... etc. I really need to organize my brain and actually finish some of the games and not just leave them hanging.
