Stronghold HD, Evil Genius, Sniper Elite: Berlin 1945, and 17 other great classics for as little as $1.79!

There's an old Polish proverb comparing March to a cooking pot full of boiling brew. You never know what's inside exactly and what comes up when. It relates--of course--to Central European unstable weather in the early spring, but why shouldn't we apply the same to our weekend promo? Let's mix stuff up a little with our March Gaming Medley. So, what's in the pot? A rich base of strategic classics, a solid serving of Sci-Fi, and some explosive action to make it irresistibly spicy. Whether you're looking for a quick snack, or a full sit-down three-course meal, we've got you covered with our 70% off discount offer. Here's what's on the menu!

Stronghold HD (only $1.79!) and Stronghold Crusader HD (only $2.99) are the High Definition editions of these two "castle sim" classics. Adjusted to modern displays they allow for much better control of the playfield and deliver awe-inspiring view of life-like medieval landscape. With great range of things the player needs to take care of--including establishing a sustainable economy, erecting a keep and defending it from enemy raids, and finally conquering neighbouring estates--both games present a worthwhile challenge to strategy fans.

For strategy fans who appreciate humor, we've got Evil Genius, a real-time mad scientist lair management sim in which you terrorize the world with your inventions. This fantastic title delivers some of the greatest comedic moments you'll ever experience in a game. The characters, the setting, and all of the facilities and gadgets make it the best Bond villain simulator in existence! This weekend, you can start expanding your empire of evil for only $2.99.

Or maybe strategy isn't your thing and you prefer to get right into the middle of action? That can be arranged. Sniper Elite: Berlin 1945 will drop you off in the middle of the ruined German capital in the final days of World War II. You'll take part in some of the events that ended the greatest war in human history and strike against the remnants of the Nazi forces with surgical precision. Just remember, move slowly, calculate each step with care, and stay low, as you're not the only elite sniper left in Berlin! All that suspense and excitement for only $2.99.

All four games featured above will work both on Windows and Mac OS X PCs.That's just a small taste of what our March Gaming Medley holds in store for you. Be sure to visit March Gaming Medley to see the entire selection of games available 70% off until Tuesday, March 11, at 4:59AM GMT.

Are you following GOG.com on Tumblr, yet? Your enigmatic hint for our upcoming classic release is waiting for you there, in The Week on GOG #5. That's it from us today, have an excellent weekend :-)

Dramatic flair, probably.

I'll reserve whatever ultimate judgement I have on the matter until we see what happens as a result further on down the line.

This promo is just a reminder of how much I need to keep my wallet on a tight leash hehe.
YES! I was waiting for this since Stronghold HD was featured in one of recent IndieRoyale bundle (was quite surprised to see it on Desura).

Correct me if I'm wrong on this, and I usually am, if you are refusing to buy a specified list of games because of regional pricing but not because of the games themselves being regionally priced (which you admit they are not) then aren't you actually just refusing to shop here period? If that's the case why did you give us a list? Why not just say, "I'm not buying anything here"?
As GhoswriterDoF stated, it is a tally of lost sales.

Ideally I would like GOG to revert to their [more] fair one world one price policy. Failing this I would like to see a comment/letter about it that isn't dripping with PR bull****, that shows at least a basic level of respect for their customers and acknowledges their transgression of trust and principle rather than trying to trick us into thinking it's a good thing. I think it is quite reasonable to expect them at the very least to be honest.

Until they make at least one of these changes to their approach it is my intention to communicate to them items that I would have bought if I still considered them an honest vendor. Hopefully other people will do the same, but at least this way I know that I am personally doing something proactive and visible. The phrase "vote with your wallet" is often bandied about, well I'm voting with my wallet and making sure (as much as possible without being abusive) that GOG is aware of it.

If protest is limited to a zone of effect defined by the organisation that is being protested against (comment thread for letter to the md), then it is not protest.
Judge Dredd: Dredd vs Death
Empire Earth: Gold Edition

The above is a list of games that weren't on my wishlist and that I don't really care too much about which I decided to buy whimsically because they look like they might be fun and I want to try to buy something from every Weekend Promo now if I can find some potentially interesting games, in order to support GOG for being awesome and bringing us new DRM-free AAA/AA titles this year with the recent changes. I'm really hoping to see the Star Wars flight combat games and perhaps other classics show up in the future possibly as a result of the changes too.

Thanks GOG!

IAmSinistar: Very nice, I can get both 2000AD titles off my wishlist. I think I will indulge in some Stronghold at last as well, and may even throw in the first Empire Earth.

To me this promo has some titles that I've not seen on sale often, so it is a welcome one.

EDIT:

Judge Dredd: Dredd vs Death
Rogue Trooper
Lords of the Realm: Royal Edition
Empire Earth: Gold Edition
Stronghold HD

For a little over $10. That buy was pretty dang sweet.
Crap, I was going to buy Rogue Trooper also and must have closed the game page before adding it. Looks like I need to take my time and pay more attention on promos! ;oP I contemplated getting all three EE games but want to try the first one first. Perhaps I'll throw EE on tonight and try it, then come back tomorrow and pick up Rogue Trooper and the EE 2+3 tomorrow if the first EE is any good. Definitely some great deals. I'd buy the Stronghold games too but I picked them up in a previous promo already. ;)

tinyE: HEY! Not so fast. :D

Yes the camera is screwed up but it looks great and she's hot and it's bloody as hell. If you thought TR Angel of Darkness was passable and even kind of enjoyed it then get BR 2. It's not nearly as clunky as that and the camera is about the same in terms of annoying.
Bloodrayne 2 is on my wishlist also but I haven't finished the first one yet (about 1/4 through it) so I figured I'd wait this one out for a future sale. It looks decent at least. I only game Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness a trial run in a "try all the Tomb Raider games out for at least a half hour each" extravaganza weekend and thought it was a huge leap forward graphically in the series but didn't get used to the UI changes in the short test run. The game looked fun though and I wasn't able to understand the negative reviews I read about it. Guess I'll need to play that one through to get the full score too. :)

I noticed there's a HD texture mod for Bloodrayne 2, is there anything like that for the first game?

Just got that too. For 1.50 it's way worth it. Quake 4 it's not but I paid $25 for Quake 4!

I am doing the opposite. I am trying to buy, win or beg every last game on my wishlist before GOG move to selling games at a regional price but with the dollar charge, I am planning for the worse case thay GOG could produce (hell, even they know they will do it like that for months).
ForgetDeny is just protesting for protestings sake, rather then actually preparing for the worse case scenario.

I am not protesting for protest's sake. I am protesting because it is the only way that we even might see a return to customer respect. Consumer apathy is disturbing, but what's more disturbing is seeing the number of masochists who seem to like being slapped.

It's not good at all, and it's very short. Takes about 4 hours to finish. The only redeeming factor is that it has co-op, but it's LAN only so if you wanna play online you'll need a VPN like Hamachi or Tunngle.

I really like it. The game has quite a few interesting mechanics that make you actually feel like Judge Dredd. You actually have to obey and uphold the law, so if you start killing too many innocent civilians or smething like that, the Justice Department will send a squad of Judges to kill you. A neat feature is the element of arresting enemies that have surrendered, which can often be accomplished by shooting the weapons out of their hands. In fact, the game is probably at its weakest when it throws a lot of enemies at you that can't be subdued at all, such as vampires and zombies.
Its gameplay has a few similarities with the original Halo, as it uses a similar two-weapon system and a health meter with a recharging shield. One of those weapons, though, is The Lawgiver, which is actually six different, awesome guns in one (you also carry it at all times, as there's no way to drop it).

It's entertaining and has a lot of the dark humour of the original comics, but it's a bit on the short side. Personally, I like short games, but it can be a deal breaker for some. To make up for it, there's a lot of arcade and multiplayer modes (some unlockable), which can be played against AI-opponents.
I just bought the 3 Firefly strategy games for $7.77

isn't it an amazing deal? :-D
