Miasmata, the Geneforge Saga, Hotline Miami, and more up to 85% off!

Indie games are always throwing something interesting into the mixed bag that is gaming. Untried concepts that would seem like a risk to the big AAA publishers (whose games tend to have budgets that require scientific notation) are brought to life. Concepts such as [url=http://www.gog.com/game/the_real_texas]an alternative version of Texas, or an 8-bit open world romp through the video game memories of yesteryear have all been brought to us by indie games with all the attention to detail and love of the craft that an indie developer can provide.

Let's check out what we we've got in our own trail mix of indies in the IndieMix Promo!

Are you an explorer? Does the thought of making your own map using triangulation, yes, actual triangulation!, get you all excited? Then book a ticket to Miasmata for only $2.99! After being stranded on an unknown island, you must search the island for the cure to your own illness. Be careful as you are not alone!

Some RPGs will have you rolling your party for hours on end before you can even set one foot out the door. While that can be fun, sometimes it's easier to create party members on the fly, so to speak. Create your own party members using your very will--a single hulking behemoth or a herd of rapid-sting scorpions--in the world of Geneforge 1-5 Yours for only $3.74!

Fiending for a bit of the old ultra-violence? Are you done with being the nice guy, the so-called Chosen One, and saving princesses? Yeah, so are we! That's why we took a drive down to the Sunshine State and signed Hotline Miami for those of you who cried out "No more Mr. Nice Guy!" Snatch it now for $2.49!

This was just a taste of what's in store for you in our weekend promo! We have so many other interesting indies in our trail mix or, rather, IndieMix Promo until Tuesday, May 13th, at 3:59 AM GMT!

tinyE: I did a giveaway for Capsized but I've never actually played it. Anyone here ever go at it?

Ghorpm: I had a lot of fun with this game. Whoever designed movement in this game did an awesome job! You can walk, jump, use your jetpack or hook, wall jump... and everything is perfectly responding so exploring an alien world (I really like the art style) was very entertaining.

My biggest complain was stupid AI - you can kill many enemies from the distance and they won't even bother coming closer to you to return fire.

But fighting was pretty good nonetheless, a lot different weapons, some of them better for specific enemies but you can stick with one or two of them, become very proficient and then wreak havoc :) It still won't be easy, some enemies are really challenging but beating them is very rewarding.

I wholeheartedly recommend it!
Thanks, I guess I'll get that and Drod only because it reminds of me this bizarre puzzle game I used t play in the mid 90s where you have a guy tasked with moving stuff around to get from one end of the room to the other. Okay that;s totally off topic but I wish I could remember it. :P

Soko-ban was the original, so look at its clones.

I had the complete opposite experience. I thought the controls were very clunky and the little guy only very rarely did what I wanted him to do. I put it down after two missions.
I'm picking up Machinarium and To The Moon so I can give the devs a bit more money for making such great games, add them to my gog collection, and not increase my backlog.

I may also pick up Evoland, but I already bought The Shiva and not sure I want to add another new game to my collection right now.
Yay! Spacechem was in my wishlist so that's nice. =)

Imagine that there are several demonic squirrels scrambling around in your clothing, devouring little shreds of your flesh. They're impossibly fast you're somehow supposed to remove them with a pistol.

This was my lasting impression.
Looks like a lot of good games... However I've already got all the ones I'm interested in...

Why would I want a game like that? It happens to me IRL every day! :O

gandalf.nho: And regarding Spiderweb games, why Nethergate Resurrection isn't available in GOG yet?
avatar
chean: Apparently GOG rejected it:
http://www.gog.com/forum/avernum_series/nethergatenethergate_resurrection_avernum_escape_from_the_pit_not_coming_to_gog

I haven't seen "official" GOG statements about it, though.
Thanks for the answer, hope this title will arrive someday here (already have in Steam, but will rebuy it again here, like I did with Geneforge and Avadon)
Aw yeah! Drodd and Reemus!

Agreed, There is precious little at 85% off and the one game I am interested in is 60% off. Not that 60% is bad, but it is not close to 80-85% off.

As I have stated before gog use to do this "Up to" sales and people use to be disappointed; now they seem to be reverting back to the old days where sales felt more like a shell game that the customer had to be watchful about.

I will keep passing on these "Up to" sales in hopes gog simply puts out a flat rate sale.

It was on a quick promo in February back when it got a whole bunch of languages added :)
Nice promo though nothing for me.
