1 Weekend Promo, 2 fantastic franchises, 14 classic games, $26.91 for the complete collection, 100s of hours of unforgettable gaming

all games from Wing Commander and Ultima series available on GOG.com are discounted by 50%. You have the chance to buy Wing Commander 4, or Ultima VII: the Complete Edition for only $2.99 until Monday, June 4 11:59 PM EDT.

Ultima is a series of fantasy RPGs created by Richard Garriott (a.k.a. Lord British more) than 30 years ago. The main story of Ultima universe, which takes place in the worlds of Sosaria and, later, Britannia, follows the unnamed protagonist (known only as the Stranger or later as the Avatar, an incarnation of virtue) through three “Ages”: The Age of Darkness (Ultima I-III), The Age of Enlightenment (Ultima IV-VI), and The Age of Armageddon (Ultima VII-IX). It’s one of the most influential RPG series, recognized for open-ended gameplay, in-depth morality system exploring mature themes like racism and xenophobia, and a rich and detailed world. Whether you want to try the original trilogy, visit thousands of colorful places and characters in Ultima 4+5+6, play through Ultima VII: The Complete Edition--arguably the best in series, find your way back home in Ultima VIII: Gold Edition or complete Ultima Underworld 1 and 2, the first first-person RPGs with true 3D environments, all these titles are available for only $2.99 this weekend on GOG.com.

Wing Commander is a series of 3D space combat simulators, described by the games’ creator Chris Roberts as "World War II in space.” In this series, you follow pilots of the Terran Confederation in their fight against the aggressive feline Kilrathi. Introduce yourself to the epic military space conflict in Wing Commander 1+2, play as Col. Christopher "Maverick" Blair (starred by Mark Hamill) and watch amazing FMV cut-scenes in Wing Commander 3: Heart of the Tiger, enjoy fast, action-packed, and varied space combat in the most expensive video game of its era Wing Commander: Privateer.

In addition to that, because the Wing Commander series plays so much better with a joystick, we’ve approached the guys from Logitech and they were kind enough to offer a few awesome Logitech Extreme™ 3D Pro joysticks to our users. Leave a comment below for a chance to win 1 of 3 logitech joysticks. You can also enter a similar joystick-winning contests on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.

Become the Ultimate Commander (THE ULTIMMANDER!) and buy the complete collection of EA’s Most Famous Classic Series for only $26.91, this weekend on GOG.com.
I remember joysticks. Fondly.
I already own all the Wing Commander games (bought them as soon as they became available on GOG). But I sure could use a new joystick!
I can haz joystick?
Been waiting for the underworld games to go on sale. Thanks GOG!

NamelessFragger: I doubt it'll live up to the old WingMan Interceptor as far as Logitech sticks go (honestly, they need to take that exact stick and just give it a twist rudder and a USB interface)
Word! Preach it, brother!

I really need to see if one of my old joysticks works on my Win7 machine - if not, well, that's part of why I still own a running WinXP box. :)

Not sure if I want to get into the Ultima series or not. I like medium-old RPGs - Fallout, Baldur's Gate, Planescape - but I'm not sure if Ultima looks like it's for me. I guess I ought to grab at least VII, that seems to be the "if you try only one" member of the series.
well thats it, tex murphy this week, origin on the weekend. GOG, are you TRYING to make me lose all my money?
What would it be like to fly without a joystick? Um...not flying then, I guess?
Always wanted a joystick to replace the one I bought for 8 bucks over 10 years ago, so what the heck, might as well give it a shot!
I remember playing WC1 with an old joystick with two buttons: 1 on top and 1 trigger. I'm sure I still have it around here somewhere but who knows what sort of interface and drivers it'd need. Count me in for the joystick raffle please :)

I'm glad to see that someone else recognizes the stick I'm talking about. (Picture attached for everyone's convenience.) THREE hat switches, a very ergonomic grip, Hall sensors for the X and Y axes, smooth travel...and the only reason I can't even use it on a modern computer is the digital gameport interface.

As for Win7, good luck with that. There's a little driver hack to enable sound card gameports on 32-bit versions, but 64-bit Win7 installs are completely out of the question. Your typical gameport-to-USB adapter also won't work because they're made for devices with an analog gameport interface.

Grendel, the guy who made the 3DP-Vert USB adapter specifically for Microsoft SideWinder 3D Pro sticks, planned to make one for Logitech ADI sticks some time back (Interceptor included), but hasn't made any progress on it after so many years.

Jeez – Hall sensors in joystick from 1998? And they wrote my T16000M incorporates state-of-the-art technology :-P. How much did this joy cost when it was released? It’s kinda depressing when I see a another (MS and their optical sensors) example how better technology is replaced by worse one.
I've played WCIV as a small kid and it was a memorable experience... I spent hours immersiing in its world, although I didn't really make it too far in the game plot :) As I had troubles running the old DVD version on Windows 7, I'm happy GOG gives us such a promotion! :D
Just snagged me a copy of WC4. God, I love those gog sales, it is virtually impossible for me to let a sale go by without at least buying one game :-).
If this contest is anything like the previous ones, then GOG will probably use random.org to select three random posts from this thread. This means:

A) Posting more in this thread will increase your chances of winning
B) If you post more than once in this thread, and on their social website posts, you might even win multiple times. (In which case you would probably only get one joystick, and GOG would select another winner.)
C) Spam is in order.
