What’s in the box?

This weekend, our team of industry analysts, trend-trackers, and ninja spies, came up with a list of twelve games from Digital Game Factory and Funbox Media that we fill you mind find interesting.

The [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/commandos_ammo_pack]Commandos Ammo Pack contains the first game of the famous series of tactical WWII games: Behind Enemy Lines and its expansion: Beyond the Call of Duty. The series is not only known for excellent level design, intelligent AI, historical accuracy, and open-ended missions but also for being extreeeeeeeemely difficult. You will search for a walkthrough, unless you’ve finished extensive commando training. If you like the behind-enemy-lines sneaking and killing Nazis, you’ll probably get
Commandos 2+3 as well, especially since both games are 50% off this weekend only.

Soulbringer is an action RPG, truly a ‘hidden gem’, that almost got buried in 2000 under Diablo II, Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale’s fame. Still, it’s an excellent-crafted piece of fantasy RPG with a story and a battle system to keep you hooked for hours, especially if all this hacking and slashing is now only $2.99.

Guilty Gear, a series of 2D-fighting games, is well known for it colorful high-res graphics, hard rock/heavy metal soundtrack, unique gameplay and insane combos. Guilty Gear X2 #Reload further balances the play and adds even more to the cast of characters unmatched by any other PC fighter you know. If you’re into brutal duels with heavy-metal setting buy Guilty Gear X2 #Reload on GOG.com this weekend for only $2.99!

But that’s not all: is a satirical take on a tycoon game that puts you in role of a cruel, shady landlord. [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/slipstream_5000]Slipstream 5000 is the ultimate 90s racer: blazing fast hovercrafts, deadly weapons, and split-screen mode. You say “Incredible!”, we say “$2.99!” Realms of the Haunting is a horror + adventure + FPS + FMV for only $2.99. And there’s another six games waiting to be uncovered in this promo.
Nice promo! It will allow me to remove Soulbringer and Normality from my Wishlist (either by buying or by recognizing I don't really want them, if I can't even decide to get them for $3 .. ;) ).

Also eyeing Guilty Gear - but would it be fun to play with the keyboard? I've got PS2 controllers, but I've never used them on the PC so far. I'd have to buy an adapter or something, not sure if it's worth it (knowing my luck, I'd probably end up with a malfunctioning adapter made in China anyway :P).

You can always use them for playing other games, racing games are great with a gamepad. Only thing is that you have to use x-padder (not free) or joytokey (free but can't alter analog axis) for games that don't allow you to configure the pad.

Hm, the thing is I don't have any racing games; I mainly play adventures, RPG and puzzles, with the occasional light platformer or shooter thrown in. ;)

I've got the PS2 standing around here for about a year now and the only game I ever played on it for a longer time was Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance. XD

I didn't even find a great 2-player game with lasting appeal. I mean I'm sure there are some and I already had help from the community but I guess most of them just aren't for me and my friends.

Has anyone managed to get Praetorians to play on Windows 7?

Was going to buy that too but not sure I wanted to mess with trying to get it to work.
3 wishlisted games in this one:
Normality, Soulbringer & Realms of the Haunting. Not bad at all!
Gah, wrong thread. Sorry!

Realms of the Haunting is such a brilliant game and anybody who hasn't played it should do so NOW.
Nice promo. Already had Realms and Slipstream, now picked up Soulbringer and Normality. Maybe someday I'll even get far enough into my backlog to play them :)
Nice promo. I will buy "Commandos 1" and "Realms of the Haunting" for sure and probably a third game. Maybe "Litil Divil". I had it back then and I remember it was hard and frustrating. But I also remember that it had some charme and that I liked it .
Ohh got at least four games on my wishlist on this sale(granted I had the same problem with the last two EA sales), but I'll probably go with Soulbringer and Realms of the haunting this time out.
Nice promo. I already have the Commandos games and Slipstream 5000.
Can anyone tell me (something) about Soulbringer? I know it's some kind of (action)RPG, and I like that genre. Looks like a good game, but I don't know much about it. Can anyone recommend me that?
Oops, nevermind.

Hmm, another decent promo. Actually, this one is neat because I've only ever played demos of two from the total (Commandos and Mob Rule) and own an old copy of Slipstream 5000 somewhere.

So today let's try for Commandos 1, the two games in the Constructor series, Realms of the Haunting, Slipstream 5000 (hey, it'll save me the hassle of finding my disc!) and...hmm, try Soulbringer and Imperial Glory.

I'm really hoping Imperial Glory will be a nice budget-like Total War game.
