By popular demand, one of the highest value offer on GOG.com makes a comeback on Valentine's Day, because we love you, and we know you love D&D! In the [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/hasbro_weekend_promo_140214]Destination: Dungeons and Dragons promo you will find the following titles: Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate 2, Icewind Dale, Icewind Dale 2, Planescape: Torment, Dragonshard, Neverwinter Nights, Neverwinter Nights 2, Temple of Elemental Evil, and Demon Stone--all of them DRM-free, complete with the expansions, and delivered with a generous selection of bonus goodies. All that, with up to 80% discount. That mean getting your hands on the entire collection of ten classic Dungeons and Dragons games on GOG.com will cost you only $21.10. Let's have a little taste of what you'll be getting, shall we?

Neverwinter Nights 2: Complete revisits many of the iconic locations known from previous D&D computer RPGs, and adds even more--all in a beautifully rendered environment. The game has been praised for faithfully executing the D&D 3.5 ruleset, delivering a captivating story and vivid characters, and vastly improving the visuals in comparison to its predecessor. With four full campaigns and adventure sets to embark upon, a set of tools to create your own adventures, and fully patched and ready to go, this is the version you just can't afford to miss, especially when it can be your's for as little as $3.99!

Planescape: Torment is another one of those games that every RPG player needs to have on his or her shelf. Winner of multiple RPG and Game of the Year awards in 1999, it is widely considered as one of the best storytelling RPGs in gaming history. With a gentler gameplay difficulty than some of the other AD&D-licensed games Planescape: Torment makes an excellent entry into the Hasbro D&D games for someone who’s new to the genre, especially with a price as low as $1.99!

Destination: Dungeons and Dragons is a stacking promo, and the discount begins at 40% when you're getting a single game, and ends at 80% when you get them all. As usual, the games you already own on GOG.com count towards the discount rate. The promo lasts until Tuesday, February 18, 4:59AM GMT GMT. Tell your loved ones friends who also enjoy Dungeons and Dragons and spread the classic cRPG love across the Internet on the Valentine's Day!
So is Mysteries of Westgate worth $5?
Man.. too bad there is only 1 first time. Every time I see this sale just for an instant I am thinking "GOTTA GET THEM NOW!!!", and then the realization that I already did that. Happens each time this sale comes up. Ah well...

I have played NWN1, both retail and GOG, but only the original campaign. Started and then restarted BG (after installing the BGTuTu mod), but have yet to progress beyond getting to the city of Baldur's Gate itself. Did a couple of hours with both IWD1 and Planescape, but again, put them down and just never got back into them. Not that any of these are bad... it is just that my schedule and attention span these days are not what they were during my high school and college years. :-(

I am going to play them all through to completion one of these days... just going to have to do them one at a time.

Anyways, for those that get the Infinity Engine games and TOEE, be sure to check out the community patches that fix leftover bugs as much as possible. There is even a mod of sorts that allows one to play right from the end of BG and into BG2 as if they were one game (though I think it is at the cost of losing the end sequence of BG).

For those who are getting these for the first time ever, realize the awesomeness you just acquired, and appreciate that feeling, for you can only have 1 first time...

BillyMaysFan59: Now is my chance to try Baldur's Gate! Haven't even played any of the D&D games yet, so is BG a good first game if I were to start playing them?
That's where I started, and I loved it. Many people say that the second one is better, and that may be, but BG1 is nothing to sneeze at, and I would recommend it over Icewind Dale, since BG has a more open world and alternate ways of completing quests, while Icewind Dale is more on-rails (though a very good game in its own right.)

tomimt: You finally twisted my arm to get them, even Temple of Elemental Evil and Demon Stone again. And this even when I knew TOEE and Demon Stone aren't very good games.
ToEE is an excellent game in my estimation, for the engine and the artistry. While the story is simple, there are many approaches for how to complete quests, and several factions that you can either join or oppose in the temple itself. The ending rooms are unfortunately rather barren due to running out of time/money, but the rest of the game was worth it. The turn-based engine is the most detailed and complete translation of D&D rules I've ever seen in any computer game, and it works beautifully when paired with the Circle of Eight mod pack.

Leroux: I'm still thinking about buying NWN2, but I already have the retail version which is multi-language and already DRM-free, without the need to insert the discs. The only thing it's missing is Mysteries of Westgate, and possibly the soundtracks

Leroux: So is Mysteries of Westgate worth $5?
From what I've played of it so far, it is. I'm enjoying it.

I consider each and every one of the games in this sale, with the exception of Demon Stone and Dragon Shard, to be must-play games. I have them all installed on my computer right now, and I expect I will for a very long time. I play them often, especially Neverwinter Nights 2.

I found demon stone to be decent. More of a ok or so so game. Dragon shard i had fun with. If only there was a way to remove that super unit. every time me and the ai seem to be about match. with me generally doing better then them and bang. they summon up that super unit from out of no where and turn the tides. through have all ways been wanting to get my hands on neverwinter nights 2 after enjoying the first one. Just kept forgetting to buy it and now seemed like a good time to get it at just a low price.
Well, to be clear, I left them out of my recommendation since I don't own and haven't played those two, so I can't speak about those.

Heh, similar experience. Clicked on it (of course), only to be greeted by: "Nice, you own all games from this promo!"

Yes, well, um... Thank you. I suppose it is nice, at that. Now what?... :)

Oh, right! It also says: "Have fun and don't forget to check out our next offer."

That's the ticket! And I will. For the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. triptych-tripartite-trilogy-threesome I missed, for one.
(What?! It's relevant: they're mildly RPG-flavoured, those three... I think. :))
Unlike others, I didn't own these so cheers GOG! Love the games and eager to get into them! Not bad for £13 all in all. :D
With my wallet nearly beaten to death I will have to wait for the next sale. Which is fine since I am in the middle of BG2 and a fine other games on this site

Gonadius: Is there anyone who wants these games that hasn't already bought them? I mean they've been on offer this cheap so many times now, surely almost everyone who's interested will have already taken advantage?
I own most in disc form so haven't had a rush to buy them digital but there have been some hiccups in getting to run at times. So thinking about it now.
Oh my poor bank account,

Forgive me, I will not look at these promotion anymore...... err...... at least until my next pay check
I already have all. This is the deal you shouldn't miss.

To put it simply, Yes.

The reason why I wonder is that I'm not a great fan of the main game yet and haven't finished a single campaign so far. Whenever I give it another try, there's always something that bothers me; nothing really essential, just some minor things that add up and don't make me enjoy the game like I would like to enjoy it (e.g. the camera, the slow walking speed, the clothing colors, the bland NPC graphics, specifically how out of place the halflings look, like shrunk versions of humans etc.).

Is there anything that makes Mysteries of Westgate really special, or is it just more of the same (good if you're really into NWN2, rather insignificant if you're not)? Is it comparable with the quality of a good community module (which I could download for free) or does anything make it stand out?

MoW is another worthy entry in the line of NWN2 campaigns. If you enjoy any of the other NWN2 campaigns, then I recommend getting the game. If you cannot enjoy NWN2, then MoW will not convert you.

You could consider it to be on the level of a particularly exemplary community module, bearing in mind that particularly exemplary community modules are of professional quality, and stand out on their own.

A review that might be of use.

Thanks! I think the most sensible option would be to try and play the other three campaigns first then and postpone the decision until NWN2 is on sale again next time. If by then I've played through the other campaigns and liked them, I might also like MoW, if on the other hand I still won't have completed them, I don't need to buy MoW either.
