Wurzelkraft: I think GOG should add the mod toolkit for Banished as an extra. :)
Once it gets out of beta, sure :)

Ohhh, no "early access" titles. I see. ;)

Well, I'd rather have a finished modkit for those who like to mod their games instead of addding another piece of software to the pool of things needing to be patched :)

synfresh: I've asked around and the consensus I heard was a poor man's HOMM. But if you're into those type of games, go for it.
Looks a bit like Expeditions: Conquistador, and I've liked that...
avatar
Maxvorstadt: I mean, if I read the reviews right, some parts of the game are not available without registration, so the game is crippled without online activation!
avatar
JudasIscariot: The only part that requires an account with Triumph Studios is the multiplayer portion but I believe one of the patches for the game added a multiplayer over VPN option so that you could play the game that way.

The single player portion of the game is fully featured and no part of the single player game is hidden behind anything.
Unfortunately, you still need a triumph accout to play multiplayer, regardless if it's a LAN or anything else - hotseat excluded.

blotunga: So with the risk of repeating myself... Has anyone tried BlackGuards? Is it worth it?

The hell, never listen to whomever answered you again, they're not even close to similar.
Banished - 60% off, not quite free but GOG has answered the call to make the game cheap on a promo so grabbed it.

GOG, you have got to fix the promo pages. They display discounted prices based on the US price so the regional pricing appears only when you go to checkout. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the price difference.
It's no secret that I think the regional pricing was a bad move, but at least show it on the promo pages rather than just sneaking it in at the checkout.

Also the wishlist button on promo pages hasn't worked for me since the site 'upgrade'.

Novotnus: Is Raven any good?
Well, I liked it very much. The characters are lovable.
I wouldn't mind to see someone making a film out of the game.

The only (!) downside, I experienced, was that on some screens (Train, Ship), where you were supposed to walk towards the player to exit a screen, I could not leave due to a lacking "exit screen" - Button.

This lead to several minutes of trying to get out of said screens, and to nearly rage-quitting - which is something, I'm usually not prone to.

However - from my searchings on the net for solutions to that problem, it seems not everyone experienced it - so you might be lucky?

Maybe I should add, that I was able to finish the game, despite those downsides - and I really enjoyed it (apart from the "not-able-to-leave-the-screen"-moments).

But if you like the style, you're looking for lovable characters and you have $ 4,99 to spent...go for it!

Well, it's more than $5 to us, but you don't know that because the promo pages are bugged and show the US price to everyone. It's only when you get to checkout that the truth comes out.

Please send a support ticket about this, sorry but that's all I can really advise at this point :(

lukaszthegreat: i want aow3 but darn it i don't have time to play so many games. dreamfall is coming and i still need to beat wasteland 2 or get far enough to considered the game finished.
Tell me about it. I bought AoW3 during the summer sale, and still have to make time to play it beyond my initial test run. I haven't even touched Shadowrun: Dragonfall or Wasteland 2, which I got on release (backer of both), yet. Maybe after I've gone through Legend of Grimrock 2 and the first episode of Dreamfall Chapters I'll manage to scrounge up some play time for one of those. ;)

Will do, but you should know that this is a pretty big deal. I think it should be brought directly to the attention of the web team as soon as possible because displaying one price and then trying to charge another at checkout is a big no no. Both morally and (AFAIK) legally.
To use a tired brick and mortar store analogy, I find something on the shelf labelled with one price, but at the checkout it comes up at a different, higher price. It's misleading even if not illegal.

I've attached a pic comparing what I see on the promo page and the checkout. It was a pretty nasty surprise. If I'm going to be charged regional prices, I'd at least like to know about them from the start.

I sad how back then we all had the time to play games all day, but we didn't have the money and now is the entire opposite....
