IAmSinistar: Seem to have most of the titles already. However, I might splurge on Ceville and Tropico 3 (already have Tropico Reloaded). Anyone want to talk me into (or out of) these?
I personally prefer Tropico 3 to Tropico 1. The first one is just a pain in the ass, with it's almost non-existing road system, and you can never get your people to do what you want. Need power to get that hospital working? Well, too bad, your college educated workers would rather work on a farm.
But you desperately need people on that coffee plantation of yours? Not even a 500$ wage will get people to work there, for completely unknown reasons.

Tropico 3 is one of my favorite "chill-out games", but I honestly couldn't be bothered to ever install Tropico 1 again.
And how about letting me upgrade my Omerta: City of Gangsters+4DLC (also known as Complete or similar da previous sale if I remember correctly EDIT: it was actually the "ALL DLC" version) to Gold for the difference of the price between that version and the Gold edition instead of charging more for the Japanese Incentive alone?
Ah ah just kidding, that way Kalypso wouldn't be able to punish the idiots like myself that bought and supported the game earlier.

Anyway, IAmSinistar definitely get Tropico, I'm partial to the original one but Tropico 3 is easier to get into.

Thanks for the info. Some of the reviews on the gamecard seem to indicate it's a polished remake of the first title as well, so it sounds like the one to play. I think I shall get it then. Cheers!
I'll have to think on this one...

You're welcome. I should also say that I'm generally not a big fan of city builders/sims like this, but I still love Tropico 3 - I have no idea if that's a good or a bad sign. :D

I'd consider it a positive. Like when someone says "I hate tower defense games but found this one really addictive", that's a strong endorsement compared to one coming from someone who already loves the genre. :)

That's one way to look at it, but it could also mean that I only like it, because it doesn't misses a lot of stuff that's essential for people who love the genre.

But I guess the true reason why I love it is just because it's incredibly fun to be Fidel Castro - it's easy to see why he governed so long, you would refuse to die or give up your power too when it's that entertaining. :p
Hmm, Master of Magic has been on my wishlist forever, but now you folks are making me consider the Cultures games too. Decisions, decisions.

*trundles off to consult the month's budget*
Excellent weekend promo! Some great games at a great price!
Cultures series: Which of the 4 games should I play if I only have time for one?
From what I see, they're all very similar but if there's one you find better than the others then please let me know, thanks!

Good point. I suppose someone who doesn't care for a genre would like a game from it because it isn't like others in that genre (and thus might not really belong to it). Could cut either way. Fortunately in this case it's pretty clear the game does belong. :)

phaolo: - Cultures 1+2
- Cultures: Northland + 8th WotW
Are these good games?

triock: Yes

phaolo: What do you know about these?
- Krush Kill 'N Destroy 1
- Krush Kill 'N Destroy 2
avatar
Grargar: If you like base-building RTS games, these are pretty good.
Ok thanks, but can you be more specific please?
Is Cultures for example better than Settlers2 or AoE ? Which title is the best among the 4?

Same for KKND, can you do comparisons to other good games?

Who knows, instead, Independence War 1,2? Are they better or worse than Freespace 1,2 or Xwing?

The Culture games + the Omerta DLC + Risen 2 while I was at it...

I saved $40 but my wallet keeps getting thinner. Did I cause a paradox by buying the Journeyman games yesterday?

tinyE: Anyone on the fence about the ID War games....this is GOD speaking to you.....get them!

They aren't easy but when you get the hang of them they are timeless.
Just added both to my war chest!

Both games reminded me of Command and Conquer, gameplay-wise. (You could make an argument about them being clones) As for the setting, it is a post-apocalyptic Earth. In the first, you have the survivors against the evolved (mutants), while in the second, killer machines want a piece of the devastated Earth too.
