Master of Orion series, Silver, Outcast, Rollercoaster Tycoon series, and more Atari All-Stars 60% off

Accelerate into amazement, astonishment, and astoundment as the abundant amassment of authentic Atari awesomeness arrives! Our new [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/atari_weekend_promo/]Atari All-Stars weekend promo offers you with an incredible selection of 26 Atari games and you can get each and every one of them 60 (yes: s-i-x-t-y!) percent off. Whatever your taste in games might be, you're sure to find something new (or old) and exciting for yourself. We've got space strategies, tales of the Wild West, lovecraftian survival adventures, ultra-violent shooters, theme park sims, medieval RPGs, nautical adventures, and more. So much more. Let's look at some of the games from this supreme selection to give you a better idea of what kind of a promo you're dealing with here. Shall we begin with something otherworldly?

Master of Orion 1+2 series is a paragon of sci-fi managerial strategy. Lead your race towards galactic domination in a universe full of opportunity. Those games are so complex and satisfying, that you could easily play them for years.

Silver is a colorful RPG that looks like a fairy tale and plays a lot like one of Final Fantasy games. It was, however, developed in Europe so its setting, aesthetics, and storytelling are something completely different than what you would've expected to see in a jRPG.

Outcast is an incredible adventure in a open-ended sci-fi world. The game uses the retro-futuristic technology of voxel graphics to represent one of the biggest and most imaginative gameworlds ever to grace computer screens. Check out this unique gem that really came ahead of its times.

Rollercoaster Tycoon Deluxe lets you create and manage the amusement park of your dreams. Design the rides, set the prices, draw in visitors, and let the profitable fun begin! Be sure to check out the sequel, Rollercoaster Tycoon 2, and the feature-filled Rollercoaster Tycoon 3: Platinum! for even more theme park building pleasure.

Before you rush off to the [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/atari_weekend_promo/]promo page, there are two more things that we'd like to tell you. We'll be adding some new extras and bonuses to our Atari games today. As usual, we have some of our amazing community members to thank for providing us with this content. Our gratitude goes to users: jeremiahh, SpooferJahk, and Daedolon (the man behind The Postmortem, the biggest community website). Remember to check inside your virtual boxes of [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/alone_in_the_dark]Alone in the Dark 1+2+3, , [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/master_of_magic]Master of Magic, and Blood. This also gives you a great opportunity to check out a new GOG.com site functionality. Your games' shelf now comes with a new sorting option, so you can easily find new and recently updated games in your collection. How to use it? Consult the screenshot hovering around this paragraph--it's pretty much self-explanatory (just click to enlarge it).
I went to look at the new sorting function for updates and couldn't find it. So, is this only applicable to updates I haven't viewed yet? I was expecting a sort function that would re-sort every game by date of the most recent update.
Great promo! I can't even decide which games to buy. Think I will pick up Master of Orion 1+2, Sid Meier's Colonization and Rollercoaster Tycoon: Deluxe. Or maybe Desperados, Master of Magic and Alone in the Dark 1-3?

Man, I hate to make decisions...
I'd buy them all if there was a bigger % off for buying them all, but I'm having a hard time deciding to spend $60 on a bunch of games that I may not get around to playing for a long, long time...
I love Atari.
Well I was just going to just get Darklands, Alone in the dark the new nightmare, Silver and Star control 1+2 but I broke and got Master of Magic since I had to missed the last time it was on sale and Total Annihilation Commander Pack.
I went ahead and bought RollerCoaster Tycoon. Played it at a friend's house ages ago, and it's good to finally have a copy of my own, even if it is only digital. Plus, it's something simple enough at its heart that my sisters can enjoy it too.

spindown: Great promo. Is Desperados 2 worth it? I liked the first Desperados, but people seem to agree that the second one is not as good.

Telika: People who are not recommending Desperado are WRONG.

Stooner: Agreed! Is the Second one good too?
I've played a bit of the sequel, then was distracted out of it (half-way?) the same way I was in Commando. A tad overwhelmed with an intimidating new level map, and "woopffh... will make this later". That's part of the genre.

But So far, it had been just more of the same. The only difference is an option to aim from your character's perspective, if you want, which I've abused a bit in one occasion, mowing down a large crowd of baddies near a river, by triggering their approach little group by little group, shooting them, and retreating. It's not a very cool feature. But, the rest of time, I totally forgot about it, or just use it to get a clearer swense of the character's line of sight.

Apart from that, it's just more Desperados 1 levels. I've played them with too many years inbetween, but from what I remember, it's the exact same gameplay.

That's what I was hoping for, too. But that's not what they did. There was a one-time button at the top of your games page you could have clicked to see only the new/updated games in your collection. However, once you surf away to another page, GOG "clears" all those flags and buttons, and you'll never see them again. It's not very well implemented. If they can't detect when you've downloaded the changes, at the very least they should leave those flags on your games for a week or so! This is the 2nd time GOG has set those flags for games in my collection that have changed somehow, and the 2nd time I've TOTALLY LOST TRACK of which games had updates before I had the chance to go download the changes. A real shame.

How about MoO1+2, RCT2, and MoM? ;)

mondo84: What are the top 3 must-haves from this promo?

I'd say:

Master of Orion 1+2
Alone in the Dark 1+2+3
Blood
This list is missing Master of Magic. It must be mended.

Did I hear six? Well, throw some Outcast in there as well then. ;)
I already said it in my old thread, but thank you for adding the Mistery Examiner newspapers to Alone in the Dark release!

This is really great. I know the small item bible is impossible to scan, but the Mistery Examiners where the most important and now it's done.
I feel like the promo text does not do Outcast and Silver justice as must buys.

If you're into the fighting type RPGs, definitely Silver.
If you're into PC gaming... Outcast. For anyone.
