Great promo! Bring more Anuman games to GOG please.
low rated
GOG is in decline, 2 games and a mediocre promo in one week. I think I'm gonna hit the bottle :(

Crosmando: Syberia looks pretty cool, gameplay/graphics style kinda looks like early Resident Evil but (I assume) without the combat.
It's one of the best adventure games I've ever played.

I actually own both Syberia and Syberia 2 (on Big Fish Games, not on GOG) but haven't even started playing the second one yet. Probably should eventually, as they are incredible games.

Will probably pick up at least one of the Still Life games this weekend. Been meaning to buy them as I've heard they're amazing and now is as good a time as any :)
Still life serie (post mortem, still life and still life2 even if buggy) and Syberia serie!

How I loved those women and those stories! :)

Crosmando: Really? Resident Evil was an item-based adventure game with combat and a creepy soundtrack.

Well, I meant mostly how you move around is similar to RE, how the graphics are static prerendered pictures.
As far as I'm concerned, THE resident evil is RE2 as it's the first I played. There were puzzles, yes, but for me it was mostly zombie killing while carefully conserving ammo, finding documents for story and enjoying the jump scares. First game bigger emphasis on puzzles and ammo conservation, third game emphasis on shooting things and less puzzles.

Syberia is a point and click adventure, the only thing they have in common are the puzzles. You move by clicking; prerenderd pictures for backgrounds happen even in FF7. RE feels like a weird and forced comparison to me.

F4LL0UT: Lol, I was still waiting for Robin Hood to be released on GOG. Looking at the promo I noticed that I already own it on GOG, don't know since when. >.<

Wiki says when I bought the game? :D

Edit: Also just checked. June 2012. I don't friggin' believe it that I've owned it for more than a year and never got to play it. >.<

It can only mean one thing... a cup of coffee. Yeah, I need it. Badly!

Which is why I wanted to clear your misunderstanding. No, this is not a game like resident evil, it's more like Broken Sword. I thought that comparison would be more useful to you than what you had earlier stated, but I obviously didn't get my point across very well (or at all)

The Syberia games are Broken Sword-ish :) but I'd say more like The Longest Journey than anything else I've played, as they are a similar style of gameplay, have amazing stories and are very long games (the first Syberia game took me around 35 hours I think, but well worth the time spent).

They're known as some of the best adventure games ever created and, out of the probably more than 200 adventure games I've played, they do stand out as the most memorable and most worthwhile.

Bloodygoodgames: The Syberia games are Broken Sword-ish :)
No, they are not. Broken Sword is about puzzles in inhabitated areas. The game contains good chunk of dialogues, characters and smaller puzzles related mostly to the story. Syberia is pretty much about standalone puzzles without any context and with a handful of characters around. I'd say it has more in common with Myst than Broken Sword.

I'm just sharing different opinion. I don't argue that the game is popular and one of most visible titles among adventures. Yeah, it definitely has more in common with BS than RE but Broken Sword and Syberia are different subgenres of adventure games, in my opinion.

Siberia on sale! Disco!

I don't know anything about those other games. Hmmmmmm....
Thanx GOG
snatched Post Mortem and Syberia
Well, I guess it's finally time for me to grab Syberia. Had this in my mind ever since it was first released many years ago (11 years, really?), but somehow I never got around buying it.

Since it's a French game, does anybody know if the English or the German translation is superior?

Also, is Return to Mysterious Island worth buying?
