Arcanum, Gabriel Knight, Zeus+Poseidon, Quest for Glory 1-5, and 27 other Activision games 60% off!

As the weekend draws near, it's time to reveal the next exciting promo on GOG.com. Behold the [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/activision_weekend_promo_05_10_12/]Activision Greats, a superb collection of 31 memorable titles. Oh, wait... that's wrong. What I meant was: 31 game boxes. Some of them contain more than just one game, so the actual number of Activision Greats amounts to impressive 54 titles! And you can get them all 60% off until Tuesday Ocober 9 at 3:59 AM GMT. Let's take a peek into some of the boxes!

Arcanum: of Steamworks and Magic Obscura summons the spirit of Fallout into a unique world where steampunk meets fantasy in a creative mixture of imagination and pure isometric RPG awesomness. In Arcanum, you get the absolute freedom to create any kind of character you want and pursue whatever quest you find the most fitting. If you're looking for a game that will drain dozens of hours of your free time--here's your best pick!

Gabriel Knight, a tormented young writter, came to be a celebrity of the point-and-click adventure genre. The first game he stars in--subtitled "Sins of the Fathers"--features beautiful pixel-art graphics, over 7000 lines of fully-voiced dialogs, and a dark story balancing on the verge of madness and occult. The game launched a successful and recognizable series that earned its place in the adventure games' hall of fame. Be sure to check the other two games that complete the trillogy: Gabriel Knight2: The Beast Within and Gabriel Knight 3: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned.

Quest for Glory 1-5 is an amazing collection of Sierra's innovative action-RPGs. Each of the five games can be played as a whole but you can also treat the series as one big adventure, as the character and his accumulated wealth can carry on from one game into another. Become a mage, a thief, or a knight and explore the five huge worlds, each based on a different culture and mythology, from Germanic fairy tales, through Arabian and Slavic folklore, right down to Greek myths. Experience the game that set many standards in the "new school" of computer RPG.

Those excellent games are but a tip of the iceberg of Activision awesomeness. There are dozens of other fantastic titles you can grab 60% off, so head out to Activision Greats promo page and go nuts!
WOWZA, that's a hell of a lot of great games.

nandesz00: Finally, nice Zeus promo.
Umm it along with Pharaoh were apart of a strategy game sale a few weeks back.

Anyway I swear GOG your killing me here, the Square-Enix Sale along with the goodbye sale for Perimeter and Solders last week, the Atari games sale, the release of La Mulana and now this sale man..

Ah well I'm on the fence between getting the Gabriel Knight games since I loved the first one way back when it first came out and wanted to give the other two ones a go along with Police Quest bundle and Interstate '76 and '88 or getting Swat 3 and the Zork games..

Eh screw it I'll get Gabriel Knight 1-3, the interstate games and Police Quest and get Swat 3 and the Zork games next time..Mainly because I kept holding off on getting them for long enough.

Anyway thanks for the 60% off sales you have made getting alot of the games I been wanting easier since you have done this I must of gotten at least 5 or more games each time, well with the exception of the Square-enix sale which only had 2 games I wanted that I didn't already have.

They are cheating ;)

Pheace: I'd love to get me some city builders, but the pace in video's of Zeus etc always looks so high... makes me feel like the game would be rushing me. Is it a calm paced game?
You are able to customize the game speed, so you can play at your own pace.

Yeah, they're using the FTL Rebel Flagship mechanics, obviously. :D

Third weekend in a row..;>

I've passed on Arcanum for like the last five or six times when it was on sale. Now I just couldn't resist anymore and finally swept it off my wishlist.

The first and last Steamworks game I'll ever buy. *ba dum tsss*

I had from GOG already: Vampire the Masquerade and Arcanum. Those were actually the first two games I got from here. On disc, I have Pharaoh/Cleopatra, Zeus/Poseidon and Caesar 3.

I'm getting the three Gabriel Knight games, which I've always wanted to play, and Quest for Glory 1-5. The rest of the stuff on my wishlist (all the other Sierra Quest games minus SWAT, the Phantasmagorias, Torin's Passage, Zorks, possibly Krondors but most of my memories of that game involve frustration) is going to have to wait. No interest in the RTSs or the racing games. This was an awesome promo! Nine games for $11...awesome.

K_1269: You can adjust the speed from really, really slow to really fast and anywhere in between (same as Caesar 3 and Pharaoh + Cleopatra) , so you shouldn't have a problem with it. Btw.: It's a really good game:)

Thanks, Guess I'll be picking them up then :)

Never ever be sorry you were enthusiastic about something ;-)

This being said I remember playing all the Quest for Glory back to back until I reached the final fight in the game, and it kept crashing on me so I could never finish the game.

Does anyone know if I could re-use my old savegames with the GOG version and finally finish this quintalogy with my good old paladin?

That'd be awesome :-)
All great games in this promo. Definitely worth the money.

No problem! I spent a lot of time with Pharaoh/Cleopatra, still go back to it every now and then, so I can also recommend that one. The game speed can go from, I believe, 10% to 100%.

Yeah, that one and Zeus I'm planning to pick up. I'll be passing on Caesar 3 as I'm fine with Grand Ages Rome when I want a Roman building experience. I do already own Children of the Nile as well but I feel that experience is different enough to still get Pharaoh/Cleopatra.(from the looks of it at least). Zeus will be a whole new experience for me I imagine ^^
