Jagged Alliance 2, Sacred Gold, Flatout and more Strategy First Games 60% off.

How do you call a promo that features about 20 awesome games? As any other given week, we've put all the sale parameters in our Artificially Creative Marketing Enhancer 5000 so it would generate a nice promo name for us, but to our surprise the only output it gave us was: [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/strategy_first_weekend_promo_010213]~20 Awsome Games (yes, with a typo). We tried rebooting it, updating the drivers, adding some additional cooling to the creative chip, and even threatening the damn AI with early retirement in the junk pile behind the GOG.com bunker. All in vain. ~20 Awsome Games is all we could get out of it. Strange glitch. But, what the hell, we decided to go with it. So, let's see what set of games made such an impression on our Marketing Enhancer, shall we?

If you are a strategy fan with a significant turn-based combat inclination, Jagged Alliance 2 is a title you just can't miss. Leading a squadron of mercenaries and micro-managing all the details of their missions is both fun and challenging. The Enigmatic T considers this title to be one of the best games of all times. Find out why!

More of a fantasy fan? Here's a treat for you. Sacred Gold is a brilliant hack-and-slash title with an open world, varied player classes, legions of nasties to slay, and a pretty original and interesting story-line, told from the perspective of different characters. The game comes complete with all the updates and the Underground expansion pack.

Or maybe you need to satisfy your lust for adrenaline? Check Flatout, an amazingly diverse racing game sporting a realistic physics engine, powerful cars, and many different play modes. This is the game you want to play when you just need to feel that racing rush!

But that's only the tip of the iceberg, as the uninspired but accurate name suggests you can get almost 20 games with a nice 60% off discount this weekend. Head out to the promo page, and check out the fantastic selection of Strategy First games yourself.

Below, you'll find a new episode of This Week on GOG, a short video guide to recent events, promos, and other happenings on the site. By the way, if you haven't already, you might want to follow the GOG.com channel on Youtube, so you won't miss our shows, specials, and exclusive trailers.

amok: TeT?
Darn it, I wanted to make that comment. >:(

Anyway, decent promo. Already own most of the stuff I'm really interested in but I've been in the mood for some HoMM and HoMM-like games lately so I guess I'll use this opportunity to finally get Disciples.

Gameplay-wise, I found it much more demanding then HoMM titles. I heartily recommend it!

Ghildrean: Seriously, Daikatana next week?
Immediately came to my mind as well. I remember those full page ads in PC Gamer that said John Romero would make me his bitch.

G-Doc: Nope. TeT is an actual living person. Or a Cylon cleverly posing as such. Yes, the latter sound more likely.
He IS the 13th Cylon model. O_O

Hm, Daikatana? Doesn't really surprise me. It's been on GG for some time, after all. And I gotta say, I'm kinda curious to try it out again.
*awesome

;)
That Daikatana hint, lol. But seriously, too obvious, I don't fell for the same trick twice!

Or... maybe that's the reaction we wanted from you! :-O

JMich: And now that we have a blue post here, can we get a comment on Cryostasis?
The rights for the game have changed hands meaning we're unable to keep selling it.

We're working on getting it back though and will try to return it to sale as soon as possible.

Sorry about this.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!111111elevenone
Wizardry 4 confirmed a game so "hardcore" you cry like a bitch when playing it, seriously the third or fourth level of the dungeon is a minefield. .seriously step one step out of bounds and boom.

I joke I have no clue but I seriously doubt it's Daikatana.

Why? Did you see Daikatana posters? It's 100% Daikatana.

TurnipSlayerr: Sorry about this.
No worries, more or less what we assumed. Any chance of us learning who the new owners are? Or anything we can do to help (bear cavalry for example)?
any chance we can get Sacred 2 Gold (with expansion) here someday?

Yeah because there going to 1.Do such a obvious clue and 2. "hype" up a crappy release such as that.

I guess you're gonna be disappointed :P And Daikatana isn't that bad. I hate when people project some opinions from the 90s to the game's actual quality.

When Fallout Tactics was released, everybody said "OMG IT'S SO BAD", when Homm4 was released everyody was like "OMG WHAT A CRAP" , the same with M&M9 or Ultima 9, and neither of them is an actual crap game. At least not in my opinion, and in case of MM9 and U9 I played them only after patching, so it changes a lot.
