The beta is over (for now at least). I no longer have it on my steam account.
So I signed up, but I can't seem to turn auto-renew off. The subscription is displayed as ending 4 days from now.

Will that mean it will charge or not? I used an old debit card with a small balance just to be safe

ahh crap no. but the card i used is a visa gift card i got from a friend. It's pretty much empty

Which plan did you sign up for? Because I think you may have agreed to pay them X amount of money for X months subscription so I'm not really sure. Back when I was on the trial, there was a button to turn auto-renew off on that page you're talking about.

Oh well, if there's barely any money on the card then I'm not sure what they can do (unless it's possible to overdraw on the card and somehow track you down).

It's probably not worth worrying about or even cancelling then. Just enjoy the flow of free games until they go "Hey, this card is empty!" and cancel your account.

I realised the initial payment was made on another card, with no balance on it, which was a cash debit card used for overseas travel. I think, though, since I sent that support ticket they should cancel it

It may not seem like the most helpful advice, but I suggest you check back in a few hours. I signed up for a trial with them as well, later I upgraded to a paid subscription. At first the auto-renew option was completely missing from the page. I checked back a few times and it still wasn't showing up. I figured I'd check one last time before calling it a night, and that was when it finally appeared. Took about 4 hours from the time I signed up to the time the option became available. I don't know if it's a bug, or they do it on purpose, but it's very disconcerting IMO.
