It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Also (I don't know for sure if this matters or not), some people say they got the registration working with the latest Chrome/Firefox, but not necessarily with an outdated Firefox, IE or Opera. So update those, in case you experience problems, maybe it will help? And like I said in the first post, try choosing a different password in case IGN won't let you advance (I personally used a password of 9 letters, no numbers, all lowercase)

Psyringe: - According to the fine print, payment is deducted five days before the current Prime membership ends. This means: If I don't cancel the subscription within two days, I _will_ be billed for three more months.

- I immediately canceled the subscription. As described by others, this caused my "next billing" info to be set to "never". My subscription is still active for the 7 days of the trial though.

- To be sure, I also removed IGN from my list of pre-approved transactions at Paypal, as described in post #14.
Yeah, I removed the pre-approved transactions thing as well.

About the 5 days in advance thing, maybe that's what happened with Delixe? Perhaps he left it too long to cancel and they charged him.
I'm getting an error when I try to register. "Invalid username or password. Please try again. " I can log in with my old account just fine, I just can't register for prime. Any idea what the issue might be?

I couldn't use an existing account to log in either, so I just made a new one.

How annoying, I seem to have registered both my email accounts at some point in time (That is what happens when you use the same email accounts for more than 12 years, I guess...). I guess I'll have to create a new one then, thanks for the info.

*edit* Oh and by the way people, don't forget your Gamer's Gate permanent 15% discount code! I don't know if this will last longer than the trial, but it does say permanent.

This is crooked, guys.

Please, let's not make the GOG forums a haven for illicit activity.

I don't need to see your justifications or your technicality loopholes, but if you really care for these games and developers, just stop.

Where exactly do you see "loopholes" or "illicit activity", and why do you think there's damage towards games and developers?

Hang on, what? IGN offers a free trial, there's nothing remotely loophole-y about this.

IGN bought the games off the developers to give away to anyone with a prime account, this includes people on a free trial. The only company losing money is IGN and they're doing so voluntarily in the hope that some people will stick around. That's how all free trials work, the services/products are offered for free because they believe the potential gain in customers offsets the cost of giving stuff away for free.

Is it immoral to eat a free sample of food in a supermarket, even though you know you won't be buying any no matter how delicious it is?

So no this is not crooked, nor is it 'illicit activity', so get off your high horse.

Exactly, the developers already got their money because IGN bought 10,000 keys or however many from them.

The devs already got paid for this. So we're not hurting them.

I do admit feeling a bit guilty at having to create a new account to do this, but they kept my credit card on record, so I'll never be able to pull this off again. :P

I think creating a new account is fair enough considering your old account won't work. It'd be different if you were creating multiple accounts for key farming.

This is not about being on a high horse. You know what the contract implies, the free trial is for those who genuinely don't know what it's about, and you're abusing IGN's trust when you just use it to get free games which you know you want. Yes, it's a loophole IGN created, and we should be grateful for this loophole and not abuse it simply for our own gain.

Yes, taking food samples when you know you'll never buy anything from the grocery store is immoral. If you shop there regularly, or even this one time, (but did not necessarily buy the product in question) no it is not immoral.

I see loopholes and illicit activity when you knowingly make an extra account just so that you can take the free trial again.

Indirectly you're hurting them, just as if you stole it from a shop. I won't call what you did stealing, but if it was taking the product in this abusive way, it's not far off.

Yeah, it's not like they have all these codes paid for in their annual operations budget already.

Next you'll tell me that those thousands of people who got Portal for free from Steam a long time ago and never bought anything from their store again are also thieves. Likewise with the people that have gotten free promo games from here (like the Broken Sword or Empire Earth giveaways.)

What did I just say? I said I wouldn't call what you did stealing. But guess what, if everyone took advantage of the deal in the way some of you have, they would simply close this offer off to everyone.

Anyone wanna help me?

I have an IGN account (apparently without my knowledge, I'm guessing it uses the same login for some other site) and what not. So I attempted to register for Prime, yet I am unable to login, keep getting a message saying that my login information is wrong, yet that login information works fine for the main site.

No, the free trial is for anyone who isn't a customer. The point of it is to try and persuade me to stick with it.
The fact that you seriously think taking a free sample is immoral means I can't take you seriously.
