keeveek: Actor who plays Shane in TWD is confirmed to play in another TV series in one of the leading roles, so Shane's departure is almost certain.
*sigh* this is why I shouldn't read threads about series I watch :)

(not blaming you btw)

It's become beyond terrible. I suggest OZ or The Wire if you wanna watch a real show.

Sorry mate, I should have marked this as a spoiler...

Well, of course it's not near as good as Oz or The Wire, it's still a good show to me. And it's improving lately. Last three episodes I consider very interesting, and I hope the show will develop further.

Someone better for a script would be needed, though. Most conversations between characters are horrible.
The last one was a lot better! Waiting forward for the penultimate installment. Wonder what the cliffhanger is going to hinge on?

*SPOILER*
The trailer showed that kid getting free. Reckon he's going to get his group and they're all going to have to evacuate from the farm. Wonder who's going to be the one to inevitably die? Shane?
*END SPOILER*
Latest episode was pretty good. Hooray for following through on story arcs! Beginning to think I should watch the last couple episodes per break. Show knows how to finish strong but not how to do much else.
After the winter break, show's director was replaced. Frank Darabont is no longer present, Mazarra took his place.

And it looks like he's going to fix this show. Add more juice to it, better ideas.

Poorly executed first half of the season, you may put on Darabont's account. The second half is mostly Mazarra's work.
I would not say he's exactly perfect. The beginning of the second half of this season was just as insipid as the Darabont stuff.
I watched this on TV a week ago:

Triggerfinger"
(Season 2, Episode 8)

"INFO: (Contains Major Spoilers!) After killing their attackers, Rick, Hershel and Glenn prepare to leave, but three other men, looking for Dave and Tony, enter the town before they can escape. Lori escapes from two walkers and continues down the road on foot to look for her husband. Rick, Hershel and Glenn inadvertently get into a gunfight with the others. Back at the farm, Carol tries to talk to Daryl, and is rebuffed the same way Lori was. When they realize Lori is missing, Shane goes down to help her, and convinces her to come back by telling her that Rick and the others are already back. When she finds out he lied, he reveals that she is pregnant. Carl asks to name the baby Sophia if it is a girl. Shane and Lori talk about their past relationship, with Shane being convinced it was real. In town, Hershel shoots one attacker who is then killed by walkers. Another attacker attempts to jump from a building into their truck, but instead impales his leg on a gate, causing the third man to abandon him. Rick, Hershel, and Glenn rescue him and bring him back. Rick plans to send him away once he is healed, but Shane disagrees. Lori tells Rick that Shane is dangerous. "

--------

It was terribly boring, the zombies were almost non-existing, and the story was meh = no story at all.

Are the other episodes better?
TriggerFinger actually probably has MORE walkers than most episodes of the Walking Dead so you'll likely be dissapointed with the rest. It's a more or less middling episode too, it gets worse and better but I can't imagine the show will grab you.

Oh, damn. Thanks, I guess I'll keep on rolling with House M.D. and Psych.

I don't know who directed that episode, but even if it was Mazarra, he needed time to add tempo to the show.

kavazovangel - if you consider this episode boring, it's not a show for you.

kavazovangel: with House M.D.
Tell me sth about boredom , dude.

SPOILERS ahead

I do not know why Shane's death had to be changed for TV. It SHOULD have been Carl to take out Shane. Shane's quick turn into a zombie smells of budget cuts and a rush to get them to the prison to find Tyreese and the other new characters. This is one part of the comic book that should not have been altered. Carl kills Shane, accidentally shoots him through the neck. Only after an incident at the prison does Rick discover anyone that dies a natural death will also be re-animated. But that doesn't happen over a period of hours. The show already has enough character angst without the need to manufacture new angst/conflict in the second to last episode. Rush job indeed.

I'm sesnsing some laziness and cost cutting going on with Walking Dead the TV series now. I'm not liking it. I hoped it would last many seasons. But another series that started out spectacula lost its way after a short time. Pretty soon it's going to be like Heroes, and we'll find out the Governor is Merle, Michonne is T-Dawg's sister and Lori turns into a walker by bit by Maggie....I better not give them any ideas.

If they continue changing core parts of the comic in the TV series, the ones who made the TV series even possible after many years (the comic book buyers) will start walking away. Nay, shamble more like it. Maybe it should be on STARZ where they might be afforded a bigger budget.

Is Season 2 on Netflix instant watch yet? This is all I need to know.

Oh and http://penny-arcade.com/comic/2012/03/02
I don't really have any problem taking away the Shane kill from Carl. Kid's a bad actor, and most of the stuff about Carl has been terrible. Don't really want to see him try to handle that sort of story arc. Kids in TV shows are almost always a bad idea, unless you're Game of Thrones.
