I am about in the same boat as jungletoad regarding having all the games of personal interest from GOG. There are a few exceptions, but with 45 games I have not played the vast majority of the ones I own.
Not that it will happen but it would be nice to see DRM Free indie games come to GOG to help expand the catalog. Problem there is most are over the $10.00 mark.

jungletoad: Did the sale spoil you and get you used to spending even less money for games? Are you more likely to hold out for a sale than you were before, or will you buy the same amount of full price games here as before?
How many others bought so many games that you don't see yourself buying any new ones from gog for some time?
Did the freebies and the sale increase your feelings of loyalty to gog? I personally felt all warm and fuzzy when I saw I got Tex Murphy 1&2 for free and I was ecstatic about the sale. I have nothing but good feelings for gog right now. I don't know if others are affected similarly. If you do feel more loyal to gog, has it increased the amount of time you spend on the site or the amount of time you spend talking about gog with other people that aren't gog members yet?

I always bought only a few games, 3-5, a year.
Since I discovered GOG, I'm buying more than ever.
On average I buy 1 game very 7-10 days here.
Due to my large back catalog of games still to play, I have limited myself to only buy games which are on sale.
My feelings of loyalty don't change due to a sale or a freebie.
If a retailer, both online and offline, offers a good price/quality ratio, good products and good support and service, I'll be coming back.

Catshade: 2. Even if GOG only stick to their current release schedule (at least 1 new game per week), we'll get 50+ new releases by the end of the year. That's more than enough enticement for me to buy more games. If anything, GOG should spend more money on advertising. It surprised me that there are still a lot of 'hardcore' gamers (who frequently visit gaming message boards and blogs) who haven't heard about GOG or have a wrong perception of it (think it's a client-based service, for example).

I think GOG does this on purpose.
There have been GOG banners for the Fallout series, but other than that not that much.
There also have been articles in numerous online and offline gaming magazines.
Personally I think they're relying on the word of mouth for the period they're in beta.
That way they can create a nice user base and can build from there.
Once they're out of beta, they might advertise more.
The relationship with CD Projekt might be of help to them.

Catshade: 4. I have an enormous backlog, and I constantly tell myself to stop buying new games. But I have a weak self-control, so when I see a big sale coming up... :(

Wishbone: This. My backlog is huge too, and it only seems to get bigger with time. I'll still keep buying the games here though, I can't help it ;-)

Same here.

My inner cynic still can't help but look for the clou behind the silver lining. I suspect GOG is a secret suicide cult, one thursday they'll announce a new prooduct: "Special Kool Aid, Only $5.99, comes with ceremonial robe and home neutering kit"
I'd buy it
Wouldn't USE it but I'd buy it for a laugh
Well, I'm a student so i can't really spend too much at once. I think i spent 63$ or something during the sale and theres still some games i know i want, and a good number I'm at least interested in. But I'm stocked on games enough to last me two months + now so i probably won't be buying as much, just good deals for those games I'm interested in.

I'd buy it during the holiday sale, and then MAYBE use it 10 years later after clearing my other GOG backlogs :P
I do see myself restraining from buying games from GOG and Steam for a while, but more because I have enough games to last me a long time and I need my credit balance to recover a bit, not because I've lost any loyalty to any of the services.
I always buy games on sale, very rarely at full price, sometimes when they've cut a dollar off from one of those gem of the week deals they've got. I like GOG and I want them to prosper, but I can't afford to buy everything from the catalog when I'm sure there are a bunch that just don't fit my play style.
Same thing happens with Steam. Always buy on sales. The only game I'll ever spend more than twenty dollars again will be Starcraft 2. The rest can wait until the prices lower a bit. Gaming can be an expensive hobby if you buy everything when it comes out.
I wasn't here for the holiday sale, saw the prices though and I sure would have bought some games if I was here at the time. I normally don't buy a lot of games though anyway, I usually only get 1-5 per year, but already have bought 3 from gog in 2 days because gog has the best prices for games I've ever seen. Don't see myself stopping soon :P
I do hope so, the more popular this wonderful site gets, the better.
I did buy two games on the sale, mainly because I wanted to play them. Even steam deals, great as they were, did not make me splash out and spend a lot of money. For the reason I did not want to play many of the games on offer at this time.
I agree with other posters, GOG.com needs a little more marketing muscle, let's pray this years holiday is much bigger and better.
