GameRager: I thought the tau were just the guys from Fire Warrior and that it was a race not an alliance. Thanks for the info.
The Tau are a race but to use the Federation Star Trek analogy they are the dominant race in their alliance just as Humans are in the Federation. The other races join them for mutual protection, trade and research.

Delixe: The Tau are the only race that is no xenophobic but idealist. They are comperable to a Star Trek style UFP execpt you must accept their philosophy of the Greater Good. There are Humans, Pech, Demiurg and Kroot in the Tau sphere of influence.

The Tau are a race, and they are in charge of the Tau Empire. Other races are allowed to join the Tau Empire if they accept their philosophy. Many humans do, because the standard of living is better under the Tau.

Yes but the federations is normally not called the human federation. The Tau alliance is just caalled Tau sometimes by others and it makes it hard to tell if one is talking about the race or alliance as a whole if they just say Tau.

Just as planned

Because the additional races are pretty much second class citizens. The Tau control the government and the military. Other races just follow their laws and fight for them.

Then you should join the legion, and quit the loyalist weaklings!

That's not what races like the Klingons, Romulans and Ferengi think. Starfleet is based on Earth, Federation ships are constructed at Utopia Planitia at Mars, Humans make up 70% of Starfleet personell. To the outsider looking in the Federation is a Human empire that has conquered other races using trade and diplomacy. This was brought up several times duing Deep Space Nine's run.

It's still be appreciated if people would clarify when saying such things in reply to me....that's all.

Surely, he just collects loyalist action figures so he can burn them later. Chaos folks have to do something in their spare time too you know, and idle mutation only gets you so far

I just meant people don't call it that so when someone says federation someone else doesn't immeadiately think they just mean humans. With tau, one could be discussing the whole empire or just the race and it's confusing.

Again, anyone wanna help plz?
